Bag It Up Challenge #61

Ah, the final Challenge post of this week and another Chanel special^ These looks are pretty different but I really like each of them individually. On the left is the Hot Red Chanel Purse, and I do think I've worn this once or twice in HB posts but it's good to give it some light on its own. I love the red-pink pairing, for me it's something I'm enjoying right now so I wanna wear it a lot, and the fur is a pretty great piece to work into that! My second look is much more casual with the Perfume Bottle Handbag which I know a lot of people have made good use of. I quite liked it with the faded denim of this playsuit so kept with a chill vibe with trainers and these sweet sunglasses =D This whole picture just feels really bright and vibrant, such a good way to end the month of June and welcome July!

Bag It Up Challenge #60

Today in the Chanel segment of this challenge, two of my favourite pieces! I wear a lot of white clothing, so these two bags have had their fair share of looks^ They were both released in the winter 2011 Tribute store, so also a pretty long time ago, and I tried to go for different styles with each of these bags and to what I've done before with them. Firstly on the left is the White Box Logo Purse. I love the golden chain detailing, I think it works really well for this piece and with my look I decided to keep it very light and bright with white and some blue - I think it works out quite nicely for the bag, and is something a little different for me. And then on the left is the White Clasp Shoulder Purse, possibly my most worn bag like ever! I always choose silver and white for this, so instead I've gone opposite with black! I like letting the bag stand out with this, but did keep a little silver touch with the heels - I'm pleased with this overall, and this pair actually =)

Pom pom

What a cool quirky and bright look from LADIDEDE today! This one stands out so much and I couldn't not feature it, plus it's a great way to work that Fendi interior^ I've tried out pom poms, and it's not an easy one to pull off well, but this all or nothing approach has been spot on =) I really like the top and trouser co-ord and the effect is only enhanced by all that pink! The furry effect is continued in the shoes which I think are a perfect choice =D

Bag It Up Challenge #59

I'm away again this week, although on a work trip, so this is a continuation of my Chanel special of the challenge from last week! These are both black based pieces but are from different collections - the first is from the very first Chanel release back in 2010, it's crazy how long ago that was! So this is the Quilted Flower Purse which I bought in the Bazaar but I think has been in Callie's Picks too maybe? I really quite like wearing a little red so this bag is pretty good for that, and the simple tones in the rest of the look let the bag stand out. The second bag is the Western Chain Bag from the winter 2014 Chanel release - it seems I bought most of the bags that time! I've never styled this piece before, and really it's nothing too crazy so it shouldn't have been a problem at all! I really like this look and am glad I can show a use for this cool printed dress =D

Velveteen gleem

Something a little less summery in this look today from mahH1990. I love velvet, so this look is no exception with a whole lot of it in the navy oversized top and the almost violet trousers. Pointy shoes are a perfect match, and I adore the fur coat addition in the hand! Also with accessories those sunglasses give such a cool feel to the look, I love it =)

Inspired By Marc Jacobs Styled Outfits

My styled outfits as promised in my review last week! I really wanted to get some great summer looks from this collection, but everything has such a dark vibe that it's much more suited to autumn/winter wear - hopefully I'll remember that when the season comes around and I can put some of these looks to use again =D
These Sheer Marc Jacobs Pants are possibly my favourite piece of the collection so I was super excited to style them! I went with very similar tones to the trousers in my clothing choices, and I particularly love this Faux Fur Top from Pretty 'N Love with them. Also love these white loafers, they're pretty great with the darker colour and don't attract your attention too much.
And then the outerwear pieces. So firstly the Faux Fur Leather Jacket which I got such a biker vibe from and so I tried to continue that with my clothing choices. I really stayed simple with the clothing so I could do a little more with the accessories, and I think it works, really want to try out some trousers with this piece though! Secondly I've got the Just Oversized Coat, and for me these trousers were a must. It was so easy to work with this piece so I can see it getting seen quite a few more times on the blog from myself at least^ And then lastly my more feminine look with the One Shoulder Fur. I'm so glad I bought this piece, because I adore this look so much! The tone looks lovely with the pink and then the golden accessories, and I didn't add too much because I think simple works a lot better for this style than trying to add a lot to it =D

Let me know what you guys think of these looks in the comments and let me know your favourite pieces from the collection to style! x

We Wear Hotbuys J U N E | Jimmy Choo Inspired Wedges

Wow, it's the last Hotbuy of June, I can't believe we're close to half way through the year already! This last one is the pair of Jimmy Choo Inspired Wedges from Original Future and they cost 13SD's, which is about right for a piece like this. I've been super excited to style these as I love wedges in the summer so these are right up my street =D
It's funny we've all subconsciously gone for super similar colour schemes - these wedges will also work with other colours, a little disclaimer there^^ So our poll:

Bright and light

Such a great summer style from MeLolitka today! I love this look for the summer season a lot with it's light and airy feel from the colours and fabrics chosen. This blouse is one I love seeing and it works well with this striped skirt, I'm wishing I'd been able to buy it now! The accessorising is fairly simple with matching platforms and bag, and the golden chains at the neck at a small detail which works very nicely. Also love the hair choice for the look, a perfect match =D

I N S P I R E D B Y F E N D I | Tribute Review // Bag It Up Challenge #58

The end of the week surprised us with the third Tribute release of the season, and the second this week! This time Inspired By Fendi - something we got pretty much two years ago to the day^ It's  all bright and jazzy and really attracts attention, so lets get on and take a look:
So we got three floors full of the accessory-based Tribute, which is great, I feel like it gives us so much more to choose from and hopefully find something that fits each of our own styles well! Compared to the last Fendi collection, this one is hugely more focused on bags - last time there was a range of accessories and quite a few pairs of shoes (which I love and still wear). There are a small handful of accessories this time but they're definitely just a small addition to the store.
So I'll start with those accessories - keychains have been hugely popular on Stardoll and that has been reflected in the release. There's a good range available in completely different styles which I really like to see. I'm a huge fan of the more floral based pieces, the Handbag Mirror Charm and the Flowerland Key Charm myself^
There's a few other accessory pieces too, namely the Karlito Black Shawl and Fendi Tribute Shawl - there were scarves last time too, but I actually think I much prefer these pieces. There's also sunglasses, although not my style, they look pretty cool with their pink styled lenses - the Purple Cat Shades and the Zebra Style Sunglasses.
So now onto the big drop, the handbags!! There is a huge selection to choose from with most colours available and prints and patterns and styles and minimal vs bright and obvious, I think there's something for everyone =D It's hard to know where to start with this collection, but I think I'll go for the printed pieces - these ones are pretty bold in their colours and designs, prime examples would be the Flowerland Inspired Big Tote, Striped Fendi Tribute Handbag and the Sunset Fendi Inspired Handbag. They each really have focal points to their respective prints. The styles are all pretty tote-like, I quite like this for these large prints, I think it works out well for them. The latter two also have hanging straps, I really quite like this style and I think it gives them a little boost^ Colour-wise, they all seem quite blue and red-y, is that just me? I quite like it, but maybe a variation would have worked too. There are also a couple of other more minimally printed pieces, so these are the Fendi And The Ocean Handbag, the Fendi Baguette Handbag Tribute and the Faux Snake Leather Clutch. Each of these are pretty different bags, and I like different aspects of them - the strap on the first, the colours on the second and the texture of the third. If you're on a budget, it would be very difficult to choose just a few pieces when there's great aspects to everything! Then there's the more minimal pieces, which really focus on just the one colour in their design, and within that I think there really are three categories of bags. The black pieces - the Silver Studded Handbag, By The Way Mini Bag and Classic Baguette Fendi Tribute, the bright choices - the Oversized Fendi Blue Bag, Stitched Fendi Handbag and Canary Fendi Inspired Mini, then lastly the muted tones - the Burgundy Leather Handbag and Flowerland Strapped Bag. That's a whole host to choose from! Of the black pieces, I do love the studs and frill pattern, but I think my favourite would be the By The Way Mini Bag with its pretty flowers and red and pink design. The Oversized Fendi Blue Bag is pretty huge, like really really huge, so for me it's not something I'd go for right now, but I have chosen the two other bright pieces and have styled them below! The muted tones pieces are both beautiful and I adore the colour schemes for them, the straps are also very cool and although they add pattern and complexity, it doesn't take away from the nice minimal style and design. The shape of these is also a classic, which is good for the store I think.
The prices for this release range between 14 and 40SD's, and I have to say quite a few of the bags are above that 30SD mark. I do think it is a pretty expensive shop, to purchase most things would come at quite a cost. I've only bought two bags so far and that was already over 50SD's so I think it's one of these stores that really needs a thinking cap on when deciding what you want to purchase and what you think you can go without!
I've also incorporated my Bag It Up Challenge #58 into this post styling the two pieces I bought! Firstly the Stitched Fendi Handbag in it's pretty red colour, I love the pop it adds to this look but I also loved the complimentary nature of the purple-y tones in the jacket and shoes. For me this look was necessary to let the bag shine! Then secondly the Canary Fendi Inspired Mini, which isn't really all that 'mini'^ I love the pairing of the yellow with this orange/yellow toned cardigan, I like that match and then kept it simple with jeans and a shirt - but this bag would also look good dressed up too, so I look forward to that opportunity =)
And then some features! A lot of people seem to love this collection and I've been really enjoying seeing which pieces people have been picking out - it's great to see that it's been a huge range =) First we have Isabella8103 who has gone quite all out with this one, choosing the Zebra Style Sunglasses, Flowerland Fendi Inspired Belt and Sunset Fendi Inspired Handbag. There's a whole lot going on with this look, but I quite like this all-or-nothing approach to it, especially the use of the purples in the shirt, skirt and shoes^
Another colourful look from Mia1435, this time styling the Playfull Fendi Tribute Bag, and also including some flats from the last Fendi store^ It's pretty minimal in terms of adding things but the bag has a lot going on so choosing out the pink in the hair and shoes, and the yellow in the top works well for it and is very complimentary. I also want to point out the eyeliner - kinda great =D
This next look is from miver styling the 2Jours Small Leather Tote. This piece is most alike the last release I think. She's stuck with the pick accents from the bag with the shirt and lip colour, which I really like, and the look lets the tan colouring of the bag standout with the black base for the clothing - love it!
And lastly something along the more simple lines of things with ThePerpetua, who has chosen the The White Karlito Bag. This is definitely on the more minimal side of the collection but is nevertheless super stylish. It's perfect with this white and black styled look and I think overall it stands out very nicely in the whole look. Plus, this is making me want to purchase that Voile outerwear ... !

Primary Education

So many tributes, so little time...

This Marc Jacobs coat and Fendi bag are my favourites of the three so far, though I change my mind virtually every time I look in my wardrobe.

Pop

Gotta love a huge colour pop in this look from anisa123! The reds are great together, and although sometimes it might be too much, I think it's all good here^ I also love the addition of the fruity printed shirt (a dress used strategically well!) it's a really good fit with the colours. And golden accessories - can't go wrong there =D

I N S P I R E D B Y M A R C J A C O B S | Tribute Review

This week began with our second Tribute of the season - Inspired By Marc Jacobs! I wasn't all hugely a follower of Marc Jacobs' work, so I really went in without huge expectations, which sometimes is a better position to be in. The advert looks pretty cool with a dark vibe - I don't think the models are entirely a great match to be honest, I usually love the beauty looks but this time I think they could have been much more fitting for the release.
So there are two floors in this collection and I really do get the running theme throughout, something I really like and can really help releases I find! There are no male pieces this time, but I think with a little creativity some of the pieces could work out for the male dolls, I think there might be a little hope in there for you still^
There's a pretty good balance with clothing and accessories with this release I'd say - starting with the accessories, I feel there's been a huge push and emphasis on the bags with this collection. There have been great designs brought to Stardoll and they look good and there's a range between them for different tastes. I found myself immediately attracted to the Small Mini Leather Bag, I love the graphic work put into it along with its style and cute size. It's something I could see myself working into looks quite easily, so I'd say it's the versatile piece of the accessories. Aside from the black pieces, including the MJ Leather Bag with it's pretty golden chain, I loved the jewel toned pieces in this collection - both the emerald Green Mini Leather Bag and the Purple Leather Bag look like great pieces to have! There wasn't any jewellery in this release, so all that's left in this category are the shoes, which I found myself disappointed with - these boots are completely not my style at all and I find them all very similar so there wasn't really anything for me to work with there, I'm sure some of you might love them though^
And then the clothes, which really were the focal point for this release. As I said before, I really feel the common theme running through this collection, which I like, but I do know it won't all be to everyone's taste. I feel like the emphasis was really put onto the dresses and gowns in this one and that the other pieces were sort of like 'fillers' for the collection - I liked more of these pieces than the dresses though I think! With the dresses there are two which are more gowns, the Dramatic Night Gown and the Night Sequin Long Dress, a piece which has a great pattern on the skirts. I just don't see the wearability in these unfortunately. The prints and designs are fine, I just think for me the overall style would need to be different - I'd do that wavy blue print in a nice skirt though^ What I did like were the more minimal pieces, although they're not all that minimal at all! The Marc Jacobs Tribute Gown and the Silverlining Sheer Dress are both stunning, and the Sheer Marc Jacobs Dress rounds out that sheer range in the collection. Then there's the slightly more conservative Grey Marc Jacobs Long Dress with it's pretty bow detailing at the high neck then long length with the stylish split - I like it, and I think it's probably the most versatile of all the dresses. There's a few shorter options available too, and I love both the lace and sequin details in the Spiderweb Sequin Dress and the Ballerina Blossom Dress, I think I just need to work out some good ways to wear them =D After the dresses there are quite a few outerwear pieces available, but to me some of them are just so different and out there and opposite of anything I'd look for, so I do find myself easily shifting my eyes away from them - don't get me wrong, the Over Size Tribute Cape is a well designed piece, I just know immediately that I'd never wear it! I do like some of the pieces though, but focus on the versatile, and I think that both the Just Oversized Coat and Faux Fur Leather Jacket offer that well! I really look forward to styling them both^ And to round off, the co-ord sets which were available. I found myself liking the bottom halves over the tops in both sets, and my eyes particularly go all goggly at the Sheer Marc Jacobs Pants - I love these! These are awesome in shape, colour and design and are the sort of thing that are all I could ask for from a Tribute =D
Prices in this release range from 16 to 45SD's, which may be veering a little towards the expensive end, even for a Tribute release. I only purchased 5 or 6 pieces and the spend was already something like over 150SD's which did make my eyes bulge - but it does mean maybe I'll make smarter decisions about my purchases!
There's a lot of features in this one, so I'm going to save my own looks for the start of next week - lets dive into your guys' stylings! So the Just Oversized Coat was pretty popular and I've narrowed it down to two here, firstly -Lady_Sweet-, who has gone with a pretty formal look in a maxi gown with a side split. I adore the knitwear below the coat, it's a great fit, as is the accessorising from that feathered neckwear, very cool and very edgy - this all fits together perfectly =D
And then secondly Fashion.By, also going for a full look of black pieces but choosing something along a little more of a casual route choosing these fabulous cropped trousers and a meshed shirt - I think it works really well! Plus I think the hair and lip colour choices are pretty perfect =)
Next a couple of looks with the One Shoulder Fur, it definitely took a little while to see looks with this, so maybe not so popular? It really was these looks though that convinced me to purchase this piece. First dareczek7 going very casual with ripped jeans and white trainers, but with the beige coat, I really like the overall style that's been chosen. I think it sells the fur in a different light, which I really like.
And then something very different from kate17Elegante, who has gone for a more formal style with black and white trousers and shirt. I love the accessorising with the inclusion of the Purple Leather Bag, and I think those sunglasses and boots look fab. Sleek hair and beauty also perfection^
And then another pair, this time making use of the Striped Tweed Pants - and both looks really sell them, I'm impressed! Firstly is katyana-472 going with a fairly neutral base with the shorts and a white shirt then going bold with the red coat - I love it! I think this is a very complimentary look for the piece and I can definitely see potential for them in similar styles.
Secondly Mia1435 going for something very different in this almost period/hatter inspired look, it's very creative! The shorts look great with these boots and they suit a waistcoat styling very well. I love the over shoulder jacket but also the accessorising - it's been thought out well, and the beauty look fits in immensely too =)
Next we have MyArt who has gone with the Metallic Flower Skirt for her look in something a little more geometric, I quite like it! The sheer body and tights make a good combination and I love the bralet chosen, the style is great and works well in the whole look. Also love the shoes with the skirt, they work together very well =D
And lastly ula1223 in a very layered black ensemble including the Ripped Marc Jacobs Inspired Sweater. I feel like, even though everything is the same colour, the sweater does really stand out in the crowd and my eyes are instantly drawn to it. I love the folds and the pleats and they really do bring a lot to the look^

We Wear Hotbuys J U N E | Two Tone Satchel

Back today with a Hotbuy from this week - the Two Tone Satchel! This bag is from the Pretty 'N Love store and costs 13SD's, which I think is a great price for this item! I love this style of bag so this piece is a great addition to this months HBs, the shape and design is lovely, and the two-tones make it a unique piece for the Plaza =D
We all went with super similar colour schemes, but it's something that works with this bag - next time I wanna go brights so I'm thinking oranges and yellows will look awesome =D Our poll:

Bag It Up Challenge #57

And the final Chanel special for this week which has pieces from different collections, but the looks are on a fairly similar style I'd say! Firstly I've got the Striped Wicker Backet Purse (yep, it does say backet and not basket) which was released way back in the first Tribute but has since been a Callie's Picks I think - I loved this dress with it, particularly the pleats which I thought were a great fit^ And secondly the Chanel Chains Handbag, which is a piece I've worn a lot more frequently than other pieces. It's an easy one to work with but I enjoyed coming up with a different way to wear it, I like emphasising the silver by pairing it with this shirt.
I do have some more Chanel pieces to style so you will be able to check those out in posts next week =)

Tulle laces

A very pretty look today from Bay_watch11 wearing the new Ramadan Cream Tulle Long Skirt =) It suits this stripped sleeveless shirt really well, a lovely surprise for me to see, and I think the accessories look awesome with it, and it's good to see a firm black accessory choice looking good with the feminine quality of the skirt. I love these laced heels, they do really stand out in the look but also compliment the skirt well!

Bag It Up Challenge #56

So following up from last nights post, another Chanel pair! These two came with the winter release in 2014, which seems so long ago now! I think I've made use of these two a couple of times but it's never been with the intention of styling them for them if you get what I mean^ So firstly there's the Lait De Coco Bag in the very cute shape of a milk carton. I really quite like the tones and textures of this bag and continued with them using mainly blues in my look - plus adding the pearls which I think fit the style of the bag quite well. Then secondly is the Chanel Shopping Basket with it's beautiful bright pink colour. I really quite like the overall style of this piece but I will admit it's a tricky one to work well into an outfit. I stuck with all black, but made use of some pieces I haven't really focussed on like these leather-style leggings and I think they work out quite nicely. Also loved wearing these pink shoes - bag match to perfection^

Perspex print

Nicki_-_-minaj does it again with this look! It's aa simple clothing combination of cropped trousers and a cropped top, but this printed perspex coat makes it seem totally different and unique! It's a piece I love and enjoy seeing styled well, so big thumbs up from me^ The accessorising is fitting and is good for the look and overall feel of the outfit, especially the Fendi bag and I very much like that hat =D

Bag It Up Challenge #55

So this week I'm away on holiday - this is the first time I've been away in over two years, so for me it's a much deserved break, so you're going to get some challenge posts for a few days this week - and these are gonna be a little Chanel special!
This first pair of bags are from the latest release last December, and initially they weren't really pieces I had put a huge focus on. On the left we have the Chanel Tribute Handbag, which is a bit of a classic styled piece in black and with a more traditional style - so I went the opposite and wore it in a slightly more casual look with a grey focus. I really quite like this one, it's a little different for me but not hugely out of my comfort zone. Plus it was super easy to put together, so I'm sure it'll be easy to get more use out of the bag again! Then on the left is the The Shirt Bag, which is something I bought in the Bazaar last month on a whim! I am quite glad I bought it though as it was a good challenging feeling that styling it brought me^ I love it with these tan shades and I think it works especially well with this knitwear - I've maybe only seen one or two other people styling it ever, so it's good to give it a chance, I will definitely be keeping a hold of it and figuring out some good styles for it!
