OOTM April | Styled Outfits

In February Stardoll started a new window in the Plaza called Outfit of the Month (OOTM), I guess a bit of a replacement to the monthly Hotbuys. The February and March window looks weren't so much my thing, but from April I did purchase the Margiela Shades and the Jacquemus Furry Bag. I'm still a little tempted by the Blumarine Dress too^ Anyway, sharing two stylings with the Jacquemus Furry Bag today:
This bag is such a sweet Spring/Summer piece and I'm sure I'll be wearing it again this year. I also found it really fun to style and it wasn't too difficult coming up with two completely different looks for it, and in two quite different styles. First up I loved the feel of this floral blouse with the bag, the blue flowers match the colour nicely and I was happy with how the pink looked with the bag too. I also added some blue sandals which balances the blue nicely, this is such a fun look! With the second outfit I went for street-style vibes mixing the smart of the blazer and casual of the trainers, I think it looks good and it was fun to try this on my doll. The blazer isn't quite a perfect colour match for the bag, but I still like the pairing. I kept the rest of the look light with white and these loose trousers. And I really love the accessorising for this look, some of my favourite pieces looking totally different when paired with trainers^

B I Z O U | Styled Outfit

I won't lie, I have no idea exactly when this Bizou release came out, but I spotted some very nice pieces that I wanted to try out - and while I didn't get a chance to look and see if anyone else styled from this release, I think these pieces are pretty great! First up is the Kimono Coat which I'm still a little unsure about but I thought it was a fun Spring colour and the design is certainly unique. My outfit is quite 'out there' for me and I'm not really sure it's worked as well as I imagined it would, haha XD But I liked the green of these boots with the yellow of the coat and used the sparkly black bows to choose the rest of the pieces, like this top and the bag. I think it needs some refining though! Next up are the Loose Floral Pants in a much better styling that the previous look! We all know I have a beige trouser obsession/problem, these are a little bit different as they have a pretty floral design down the leg, I really love the darker and muted tones to this design a lot and used the purple to style the rest of the outfit. I love this look a lot and will definitely wear it again, plus I'm looking forward to trying out other colour combinations with the trousers too. And lastly is the Orange Satin Top which I think is not a surprise purchase for me at all - I love orange and this is such a fabulous Summer piece to add to my wardrobe =) I love both the deep V of the neckline and the amazing voluminous sleeves, I can't wait to bring this out again at the height of Summer. I tried quite a few pieces on with this top and found a number of items that worked well with it. This long skirt adds such a smart feeling to the piece and I think the white base really lets the orange do all the talking. Disappointingly I don't have a pair of orange shoes in the exact tone of the top, so it's my goal to find some now for my next look with this piece, haha =D

S U B C O U T U R E | Styled By Me / / Styled By You

It's SUBCOUTURE weekend! I love the limited aspect of Subcouture in that there's no rush to try things on and decide what to buy before the few hundred pieces sell out - with this you can really take your time and come back to things if you change your mind.
Overall, this collection really isn't to my taste at all - as a whole it's a bit avant garde for my style preferences, but there are a couple of individual pieces that I decided to give a go, luckily the accessories are a little more varied in style compared to the clothing. But before seeing my looks, enjoy some features:
First up, style-genius harpie wearing the Sheer Lace Ruffle Dress in such a perfect way that it's making me think I maybe do need this dress! It layers so beautifully, I love the ruched black bodycon underneath and the lace detail still stands out. The purple is such a fun addition and really draws your eye, the sheer aspect to this top makes it a perfect choice. Love the accessories too, especially this necklace, it's such a beautiful and fitting piece for the outfit^
The Sheer Lace Ruffle Dress is definitely popular, Bianca.Vos also styles it and it's really looking like a piece with reasonable versatility. The dress looks very sleek in this black and silver styling, and the lace bodysuit underneath layers well, without an underskirt the lace detailing of the skirting gets an extra highlighting. I love the added sleeves, the style of them is perfect with the dress^ And the silver accessories are fabulous finishing touches =)
Next up is LauraLucy91 styling the Ombre Oversized Coat and really doing a good job at convincing me that I need another coat in my wardrobe, this looks amazing! I really hadn't considered trying out this male-fitting piece until I saw this outfit, now I need to decide if I need it^ I love the black and brown combination of this styling, these trousers look great against the brown dip of the coat, really a perfect choice. The black boots and bag make for a good balance to the colours - I love it a lot!
And the final feature is from Afrodit wearing the Gold Metallic Corset. This wasn't really a piece that particularly stood out to me, but I think it looks great in this outfit! It's a subtle addition which I really like and I think it works very nicely with the power-shoulder cropped blazer and also tucked into the trousers. The light gold of the accessories also balances well with the pieces dark gold colour, I think this is a great combination of tones of gold for a sleek styling =)
And finally for my own outfits. First up is the Gold Dragon Purse - I really liked the look of this piece in the store and liked the unique design of the details despite it being yet another spherical bag for my collection! I love the brown/gold colours to the bag, which for me at least, make it a wearable piece. I actually ended up styling 3 looks for this bag and then picked one, it does go with quite a few different colours, particularly browns, beiges, golds and yellows - I opted for these brown trousers as I liked both the colour and style of them with the bag, and the bag still stands out nicely against them with the dragon detail highlighted. I kept the shirt as a simple option, the white keeps it light, but balanced by adding some gold earrings, I liked the darker shade of gold with this pair^ Next are the Crystal Pyramid Earrings which were very easy to include in a look, and I think will be easy to wear in a number of styles. I chose this silver-embellished coat and balanced with a few little touches of silver in the rest of the accessories. It's very much not a Spring/Summer look, but I think it works nicely for the earrings. I definitely want to try these out with a darker coloured hairstyle, they'll pop off a dark brown or black style very well I think. And the final piece is the Black Long Sleeved Dress which I just loved as soon as I saw it. I didn't have any styling ideas for it but just knew that I had to get it! The silhouette is beautiful on the doll, I love the slim fit and the neckline is gorgeous, it's really a unique piece to my dress collection. It's definitely a dressier item, which I did find a little tricky to style but I kept it simple with a few accessories - I particularly love this necklace with it, it adds to the neckline without distracting from the beautiful shape too much. Such a stunning piece and I hope to see others wearing this one too =D

A N T I D O T E | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

Wow it's been a minute! Work has had me swamped the past few months, but finally getting a little time to put together this post.
The start of March brought us a brand new Antidote release and I think it's been a while since our last one. This one again isn't so much my style, there are lots of bright colours and flamboyant designs and we all know I'm a more muted gal - but still amongst it all I still picked out a couple of pieces to try out and I'm looking forward to seeing how I can fit them into my style later in this post. But first, you guys sure loved this release and there were so many great stylings to include:
First up is Bianca.Vos who wears the Black Skirt, Black Shades and Chains Bag in this stunning and sleek combination. The skirt is such a stylish piece, and it's an amazing fit with the top combination - at first I thought it was one piece and designed to be paired with the skirt, so I was surprised to see it's two separate pieces that work great with the skirt. The other accessories are classic fitting pieces, the mix of black and silver is just right and the bag and earring combination pops nicely =)
Next up we have Mery.- wearing the Green Transparent Shiny Dress - I was quite curious to see who would choose this piece and what they would do with it, and I was just blown away by this outfit, it really makes the piece seem easily wearable! The green trousers layered underneath are a great colour for the dress and the glitter really pops out against the colour. I love the black and the chunky jewellery additions to the outfit too, especially this necklace, I think it's so perfect here!
Our third feature is from AngelinaVer who styles both the Golden Chest Top and Black Shades in this very street-style outfit for such a bold bodypiece^ I couldn't really see a way to wear these shield-like tops, but this layering is perfect and I think there is a nice balance between the top and the soft loose fabrics of the coat and trousers, a very nice combination overall. The gold shines but also fits in well with the brown of the coat. The accessories are simple yet effective for the look =D
And next is Brevis who has worn the other shield-like top, the Silver Chest Top in a fabulous casual outfit - the piece works surprisingly well with jeans and a (tiny) tee =) The white and denim both look great with the silver, I think the balance of tones across the outfit is just right. I love the accessories, these sunglasses and the earrings are fabulous and I think are perfect fits for the rest of the look^
And the final feature is from millaxx who styles the Puffer Pants in such a cute way. Again this was a piece that I couldn't really imagine being styled but this outfit is amazing for them, it's so fun! The resizing to make them cropped in length works very nicely for them and also balances well with the cropped jacket. I adore all the purple accessories added as well, all perfect final touches to the styling =D
And now for my own stylings! I bought a surprisingly large number of pieces from the collection. First up is the OffShoulders Coat which has such a classic beautiful styling. It's simple in colour but sleek in design so I think will work in many different outfit styles. I went for glamour for my first outfit with it, I really like the colour combination with the silver so added that throughout the pieces. I also tried this out with some purple and the coat also looked great so I'm looking forward to using that combination next^ Second is the Oversized Brown Coat which reminds me of a few other brown overcoats that have been released over the years and that I have worn several times before, so I was confident this piece would work for me. I love this colour on my doll, I think it works well and I stuck with a very simple colour palate for the rest of the look with beige clothing. I really enjoyed accessorising this look, these earrings and the bag are fantastic with this coat and I'll wear them again with it for sure. And the third piece here is the Crystal Skirt, which I bought on a bit of a whim! It was a little trickier to style that I imagined, but it was still fun to work with and I think I'll definitely wear it again. I made use of the silver in the piece to add in the top and earrings - just lacking the perfect bag for it. I've not seen anyone else use this piece, but I'd love to see some other ideas with it for inspiration =)
Then we have the accessories: first up are the Cinderella Crystal Heels which are such a cute piece, and I thought quite festive actually, so perhaps these will be well-suited for the festive party season later in the year. I stayed very classic in my red choices to add to the shoes, this top just goes well with everything! The shoes do have a bit of black in them so I liked this bag for the look, and added more black for something more classic. Simple but sweet^ Next is the Yellow Bag which feels like it was added to this release just for me - you know I can't resist a citrus-coloured bag! This definitely feels like a Summer accessory which is why the outfit is definitely ready for the Summer season, the bag is pretty versatile and will work with a lot of pieces, the little touches of yellow in this top and in the rest of the accessories are just right to highlight the bag against the white trousers. And lastly is the Chains Bag which I think just looks like a great piece! Black and silver is certainly versatile so there were so many options when styling it, I just really liked it with this silver leopard print top and I think the matching shoes are a fun pairing and also work well with the bag. For sure this outfit is nothing special, but I think this bag has a lot to offer as a versatile accessory and I'm sure it will get plenty of wear.
