H O T B U Y S R E V I S I T E D | September 2019

Back to the HB's from just September 2019 now - I remember really liking these, but maybe that was just because I didn't like August so much and this was a big improvement! But I do like the vibe of these now anyway, the purple is super fun, I like styling purple now, but didn't purchase any of these purple items - the printing on the Hand Print Skirt and T-Shirt just isn't my style so much, but I'm having a little regret at not getting the Satin Skirt as I'm kinda liking it now, so I think I will have a Bazaar search for it! I did still buy quite a few pieces, but haven't worn them too much in the past year - I was so excited for the Prada Inspired Bag and I'm disappointed in myself that I haven't worn it more, so I'll style it today along with the Heart Earrings and the Plexi Boots:
I really think having a little break from posting has done some wonders for my outfit inspiration, because I am loving this pairing of outfits SO MUCH! The looks have a bit of 'classic me' in them, but are at the same time something that little bit different for me. First up the bag and earrings together, the earrings were a last-minute addition, but I think a perfect finishing touch for the look. I knew I wanted to try something quite smart for the bag, and tried only a couple of different blazers before really loving this oversized fit and bright white piece, The bag pops so well against it and you can really see all the details on it. I kept the main pieces in the white and added black in the base with the polo and the boots which are a perfect balance for the bag in the look, overall I'm so pleased with this styling! And next up for the boots I actually styled 3 looks and chose my favourite, I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to find enough pieces that worked with them for 3 looks as they are definitely not the easiest piece to style. And I know a combination of pink and blue really wont be to everyones taste, but this outfit really surprised me because I just can't get enough of it^ I tried a mix of blues and pinks on the bottom half to match with the boots and I liked these best as the length is perfectly at the top of the boot and the colour is a good fit with the blue in the heel. The pink top and coat were obvious choices to add in, I didn't want to take away from the pink in the boots too much as I really like the colour of them, so I think I've come up with a good balance. I'm for sure going to wear this combination again =D

H O T B U Y S R E V I S I T E D | September 2014

I have to say I didn't really remember these September 2014 HBs much, the overall style isn't very 'me', but when I saw them I did remember that I'd picked up one piece and really have only styled it maybe once or twice in these 6 years - the Little Frill Purse was the only bag with the release and actually I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone else with this piece in their wardrobe, let alone styling it?! If you have it, style it up and let me know, I wanna see! Today styling up the Little Frill Purse in two looks:
I'm really glad I kept this bag and I'm really glad I decided to style it up to share, I love these looks! They're both totally different styles and both work out great for the bag and it really does manage to stand out in both outfits. First up a dressier style, I also chose a dress I think I've never worn, I really liked the matte of the fabric yet the printing really brought something interesting to the bag and I think it works well with the quilted style of the bag. The dress brings a lot of detail, so only a few accessories were added to finish the styling and I kept them simple in black - I really love this drop earring with the look too, I think it's a perfect finishing touch^ And then the second look is much more casual, I just really had the inclination to style the bag with jeans and I think it looks great! The light wash denim really makes the black pop, and I decided to stick with a black theme throughout because I recently spotted these boots in my closet and was a little desperate to style them - this is the perfect excuse to use them, they're great with the bag =) The black top and jacket keep it simple, then I added blue sunglasses for just a little balance with the denim, overall I'm really loving the combination ... perhaps I need to style up jeans more!

H O T B U Y S R E V I S I T E D | August 2019

A little delayed, but we're round to these August 2019 Hotbuys finally! I remember these quite vividly because they're really not much my style, how do you guys feel about them? I've not really seen many people styling these pieces over the last year either, so maybe some of you feel the same. Who knows, perhaps in several years time this will be the vibes we're all wanting for our style and we will regret no buying the pieces! Anyway, I still have the two pieces I bought last year, and actually I've worn the Red Glasses on at least a few occasions which is a pleasant surprise^ Today I'm styling the Red Glasses and the Belt Bag:
These are a fun pair of Autumnal styles, although maybe a little more leaning to Winter with the dark vibes and all the black pieces I've included! In the first styling the glasses definitely suit this burgundy tone well, and I have a lot of clothing in that colour to work with - I decided to mix the styles and pair the modern vibes of the glasses with this more classic style of top and I think it works out nicely. I kept it simple with basic trousers, and I really loved adding boots in here, they layer well with the trousers and the colours in the look really balance perfectly^ Next up with the bag, it's maybe a little hidden with all the layering but I think it's a good way to wear the piece. I went with silver trousers to highlight the hard wear of the bag and I think that works out well. The black base was easy to let the red really pop and it does that perfectly. The coat and furry stole make the look more Autumn/Winter so I definitely need to remember this for November because it will be perfect then =D

August V I N Y L | Styled Outfits

I have to say, August wasn't a great month with the VINYL releases for me! I didn't like too many of the windows we got, and in the end I only bought 2 pieces - which surprised me, but has kept my SD balance pretty happy, haha =D There are a couple of items I have my eye on in the Plaza still, the Yellow Oversize Shirt and Pocket Skirt are really growing on me and there's a few pairs of boots I might still think about picking up.
So first up a feature, this look is from prinsestkm1 styling the Overseize Jacket which came in a co-ord set with some matching trousers. I like the versatility of these pieces as they really don't need to be worn together at all and work well with a range of other style and items, like in this look! The white layering beneath with the top and the tulle skirt really makes the jacket design stand out in the styling, especially against the similar colour of trousers - but the tweed-print design is fantastic in there, I love the use of the skirt and trouser pairing, the tulle of the skirt does well to show off the trousers beneath. The accessories are fun too, the trainers and socks combination is cute and I love the duo of dinky bags^

And then for my stylings - I've just put together one look for each piece, but I'm sure I will revisit these pieces over the next several weeks as I think they're both great for Autumnal styles =) First up the Long Strap Handbag is very up my street with it's Chloe-inspired style and I love it so much! The colour pairs very nicely with some of my favourite Autumn pieces like this top and shoes combination, just so perfect together, they really were made for each other^ I kept with a neutral trouser for the look, this off-white works well as I found bright white pieces were a little too bright for the more Autumnal vibe I was going for. And I accessorised simply with an earring, I think I could have also added a necklace for more impact in the jewellery department, but overall I'm really pleased with this styling. Secondly I got the Baby Blue Dream Skirt which is also a cute piece. It is definitely a lot more low-cut than I'm remembering when I first bought it at its release, which is maybe why I've not seen anyone styling it! I still really like the colour and design, but re-sizing/shaping to work for me made it a little tricky to style in the end. I did find a couple of ways to style it, and chose this one to share as I think it's a great Summer to Autumn transition look. The white-blue pairing is a classic one and will work most times, I'm really loving the structure and oversizing of the jacket with the lightness in the design of the skirt. I added a top into the neckline of the jacket as I didn't have a good necklace to include, and I kept the accessories minimal in blue and white. I did try out just about every blue bag and pair of shoes that are in my wardrobe, but the colours just were never right with the skirt, so I'm on the hunt for some perfectly matching blue accessories =D
