And Today I Wore

So here is the outfit I styled to wear today - and although it's pretty different to my usual style, I really like it!
Bought these trousers from the most recent release at Bizou, which are practically a steal at 8SD's. I paired them with this fabulous Saint Laurent shirt, which can seem a little pricey at 25SD's, but it really could be worth it because of the shape and way it sits, no other shirt on SD is like this, and personally I think it is incredibly popular to wear shirts like this - I was lucky enough to be gifted my shirt by a dear friend (possibly the kindest most selfless person I know on SD - you know who you are ;D)!

Went with basic accessories, picked up these heels a couple of days back from It Girls for 120SC's, I think they're definitely a basic essential for your Stardoll closet, and are a great price too! Chose the Saint Laurent Bowler Bag and then the DKNY Logo Necklace too - I love both these pieces and am glad they go together with each other but also the rest of the outfit!

Snapshots of things I spotted today around Stardoll =)
(P.S. That last girl has an ahhhhhhh-mazing suite, you guys should check it out!)

Oversized and fedora

Another look spotted today which I fell in love with immediately - this time from Marbum! I adore this oversized coat, it's perfect for the season and has been styled in such a classic look with the simple black courts. It's been accessorised well too - I love the scarf, and then the colour picked out to match the clutch. Plus that fedora made an awesome touch =D

Boho

I couldn't help but feature this adorable boho styled look from Tite-Zouille - it's not Christmas based, but I think it's a great look! I love the tones of brown and I think the LE feathered necklace is a fab touch =)

Lime and jewels

Absolutely adored this combination of lime and jewels from Fyusha, it's kinda like a great non-conventional Christmas outfit! I think it look perfect and suits her doll so much =D

Wearing Saint Laurent

I know I haven't done my review yet, but wanted to share the outfit I have styled with two of the Saint Laurent Tribute pieces that I have just purchased =)
I think this is quite a different look for me, but I really really love it! It has a perfect cold weather feel to it, and I don't think it looks to drab for a winter styled Stardoll outfit - I think I had that problem last year!

Colour splash

I loved seeing this look from --Kayley, it's got a little wintery feel with the dark colours, but also looks super glam with the glitzy skirting and the fabulous black peplum effect skirt ontop! Also love the addition of the silvery collar and the orange clutch - perfect accessories =)

Hot HotBuys

So was planning on doing a little review of the Hot HotBuys/this years advent calendar at the halfway point, but I was suuuper busy, so a couple of days late isn't too bad!

The above image displays my 3 purchases so far - normally I end up buying quite a lot of items from the calendar, but this year I just haven't found that a lot of the items are to my taste. And I think they are quite expensive for what a lot of the things are, for example, the Tartan Dress above cost 17SD's, which I think is quite steep for a basic dress, but I love tartan so couldn't turn it (or the trousers) down for a second!
So far I've only worn the dress (some of you might have seen it if you visited my suite around the time it was released), but haven't quite gotten around to styling the other two pieces I have bought from the releases so far.
I think the tartan cropped trousers are really cute, but for me the style is much more spring/autumn rather than winter, so I think I'm kinda saving them for a few months - they'd look fab with a white shirt or blouse, and even maybe a really nice coat. With these I think heels a a must! Safe bet would be black or white, but silver or navy could come out looking great too.
The gold heels are a perfect winter staple - great for parties (I actually have a pair of gold heels in RL, wore them to a party last week!) and look fabulous with dresses. For me it has to be something with one main colour and little detail, but that's just me I guess - but I can see me styling them on my doll with the white dress from Stardoll And The City (we all know the one, I wear it too often!), but I'd like to try styling them down too, with some jeans or trousers, and I think they could be a great accessory to a perfect winter outfit =)

How have you guys been finding these Hot HotBuys?

Valentino Looks

Consisting  my own Valentino Styled Outfit and also looks composed by other members of Stardoll - enjoy!

Valentino Tribute

*Well hey! Presentation done, just the report to go, but I'm so exhausted after yesterday, I think I can chill a bit today - so blogging =) Will get around to posting about everything but it might take some time!*

So Valentino Tribute was released last week (might have been the week before? Not very good with keeping up!) and I have to say I'm reasonably impressed!
{Click to enlarge}
I like the overall collection really, but there are a lot of pieces I'm just not interested in - I did find 300 SD's of pieces I was interested in though! There are several very much more formal pieces, but a lot of items which could really easily be dressed down. I think the cherry for me are the accessories - I am really loving the shoes and bags of this collection, and it really makes me smile as usually the accessories have been a little disappointing with the Tribute collections.
Prices ranged from 12 SD's for bracelets to 60 SD's for a dress, although most pieces range from about 20-40 SD's. I do think it's a little on the pricey side, like the Chanel this season - so I think this is becoming some sort of a trend with the Tribute stores. The more expensive pieces are those fabulous gowns though, which have been really well designed, and I would call them true designer pieces on Stardoll, so I think if you really want them, they would be worth it. Buying to sell on? I'd say probably no for these pieces. The only one I bought was the white one on the second floor (of the 5 I'd deem as "gowns", you can probably guess which they are) - and I'm pleased that I decided to buy it, I don't regret paying 46 SD's for it.

I've got a post in production with some looks from myself and a few other members around Stardoll, so look out for that one soon^^

Chanel Tribute

Earlier this week the eagerly anticipated Chanel Tribute store was released!
Stardoll treated us to two whole floors packed with a whole variety of clothing items and accessories. Even from just seeing the spoilers last week I knew this was going to be a pretty good collection - there's a variety of styles and all the pieces look pretty well made, Stardoll are definitely making an effort! But I did predict it would be a pricey collection, and that it was! More so than I thought it would be, I was guessing an upper range of about 45SD's, but prices ranged from 16-64SD's, with most pieces coming in around 30SD's. When I did my first browse and added all the pieces I was thinking about buying, the total price was just over 800SD's, and that wasn't even half of the pieces from the store! Don't worry, I didn't buy quite that much, I cut it down to about 400SD's, which I do see as a bit expensive, but I'm really pleased with the choices I made and I bought them as pieces to keep, I'm not someone who buys to sell at a later point.
So far on my very quick browse of suites (I've been at uni more than I've been in my flat this week unfortunately!), people have been incredibly taken by the collection and have been snapping up pieces left, right and centre!

I did actually write this post the day after the store was released and I planned on adding some outfits with the pieces I bought - I just haven't had time to do that yet, I'm incredibly busy and stressed with my uni work, after Monday I should have a tad more time as that's when the big presentation is, but I do still have some work to do after that.

Stardesigns =)

Ok, so I feel really bad not posting until now because I was sent these designs at least a month ago, could be two maybe? Sorrrrryyyy! I'm writing now because I am in desperate need of a 30second dance party (with myself obvs) and thought I could write this, have my party and then get back to studying (yeah I know, a Saturday night!)
So these designs were sent to me by Lindsay12346 - she has a mini collection of 4 different ones and she sent me two of them, I think out of the 4 these images and colours are my favourite =)
Each design costs 12SD's, which is pretty much the norm for designs these days, so it's good price - plus the designs are intricately detailed, so you're getting a lot for your money!
So now onto my stylings:
For me, both of them were just asking to be styled with trousers - no idea why, but that's the first vibe I got! The shape of the tee is easy to work into trousers or a skirt and jackets fit ontop easily, so it's not much of a challenge coming up with clothes that will work! But then you have colours to consider. For the pink I stuck to black and white clothing as pink is bright, but I did veer off the track a little with the heels, which I really love! For the purple I brought out it's grey tones more with the trousers and paired it with an on trend draped-over-the-shoulders cardigan. Simple shoes and bag with this one I felt completed it =)
I have tried to go for more winter based looks, but they would also suit a summer style with shorts easily!

Sorry it's so short and probably not that great a post - my brain is melting and I'm falling asleep!!!

And Today I Wore

I really really really don't want to study right now! Too stressed and tired to motivate myself into doing so, even though I know I have a ton of stuff to get through - so I'm blogging instead!
Wearing this quick look today - love these leather looking skinnies, I haven't had a chance to wear them yet, so I'm glad to put them to use. Paired them with classic black accessories in the shoes(which are to die for!), clutch and sunglasses, then added a colour pop with the magenta cape. This was a piece I was unsure about buying as I thought it seemed a bit too girly/childlike with the hearts, but it's growing on me =)
I'm not sure I like it as much as a lot of the other outfits I've worn, but I've not been photographing them so I feel like I need something to remember just how I dressed at this time. So that next year I'll look back and wonder what in the world I was doing wearing these pieces together - I look at the stuff I wore this time last year for the 63 Day Challenge and often wonder where my mind was at!

2. Heart Print Knit Cape, PnL
3. Martie Clutch, Nelly.com
4. Criosette Pants, Nelly.com

Hair!

Uni has been draining me, and unfortunately it will until the 20th of December! But I'm taking a break for the first time today (yes, really, and it's after 10:30pm!) and posting about the amazing new Tress Up we've just been given by SD in the plaza!
The two floors give us a huge variety of styles to choose from, all one colour this time, so no odd looking dip dyes at least! Most are roughly shoulder length and down styles, which I love as it's how I wear my hair in RL =)
I love so many - I actually bought like 13 of them! Yes, it came with a rather hefty price tag, but I've found I really haven't been buying much around SD recently, so it kinda makes it ok =) And I've been wearing different hairstyles a lot recently, which you'll have seen if you've visited my page - this is quite new for me as I used to be very set on wearing my dolls hair in one style for ages and only changing it slightly, but now I think I've caught some sort of 'change it up' bug!
The prices are all in SD's and range from 13 to 18 SD's - really not too bad if you ask me, though if you're on a tight budget it could be hard to choose your fave's from all the options!
Right now I'm wearing the "Blondinella" hair, and I really really love this one - it reminds me of my own hair so much, so I felt it a good one to start out with:
 {I'm trying to get back into effects, need something pretty to stop my brain melting anymore!}
But all the other ones I purchased look pretty good too, here's 3 more of the ones I bought:
So with these new releases I feel Stardoll really has covered the whole hair market, there really is something for everyone =D
Can't wait to see all these new styles worn around the site =)

Music

I saw Catching Fire twice over the release weekend, addicted, can't wait for more, haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack or film score (I'm one of those crazies who loves film scores, can't explain it!) since, this is in my top plays list:
Recently I've been addicted to listening to YouTube artists, haven't found any covers of this, have seriously contemplated making one if only I had a decent microphone!

P.S. Please tell me I'm not the only one who isn't quite sure what to do with themselves for the next year until Mockingjay Part 1 is release?!?!

And Today I Wore

This is the outfit that I put together this morning to wear - I'm trying to transition into more season appropriate clothing, it's very much almost winter now, I think with my small absence I've missed autumn, so my doll has been in pretty summery clothing still! Hopefully I'll get the transition down this week!
I bought these trousers months ago in the bazaar and I'm so glad I've finally gotten around to styling them =) I wanted to go with navy/dark colours for the rest of the look, and I think I partially achieved this with the jacket, which I wore quite a lot last winter, so it's nice to dust it off again! Paired with a simple white vest and heels, then accessorised with a basic black bag, I think it's pretty effective!
I ended up putting on a red lip, not sure I like this too much, but I think it's nice to have a little colour in there - also chose a different hairstyle, this is one I wore for a long time like a year ago maybe? There will be pics here somewhere, but they'll be buried in the depths of the old posts!

Anyway, what do you guys think?

{P.S. is it just me, or do you see a bit of Anne Hathaway in my dolls face?}

Apologies!

Sorry I've been so absent, time has really gotten away from me! These past two weeks have been such a blur they've gone by so quickly! And last Friday I was part of the team organising our Halloween party - I've never been so stressed or panicked in my life, but it turns out I'm pretty productive under high levels of stress, I pretty much did all the decorating by myself while the others watched me freak out! The stress coupled with my lack of knowledge of drink (I am 20, in the UK you can drink from 18 - just wanted to clarify!) led to a very interesting night - it was the best fun I've had in a long time, lets just say my memory is a tad blurred on the whole thing, but me and my friend eventually left when I literally fell asleep standing up and kinda toppled into our lecturer (yes, lecturers come to our parties too!) - I spoke some french with a guy outside after this, I didn't know what he was saying, but I was delighted to put my minimal french to use (apparently he said I had great legs and wanted to kiss me, but I was completely oblivious!) --- overall I had a great time! But it discounted that whole weekend so I had to work extra hard this past week to make up for it, hopefully this week will be a little easier and I'll get daily posts to you guys!

Sorry for the rant, just needed to explain my little disappearance from the blogging community!

Hope you all had a great Halloween and are all now looking forward to Christmas seeing as it's November!

StarDesigns

Time is passing so fast just now, like I literally don't know where it has gone! I had an idea a while back, pretty much taken by real life bloggers about how they get sent stuff for free to review, translated into SD, would be designers could send things for a low price in return for my reviewing them - I did this with my Celine tee's way back at the start, and I was hoping to open this up into being able to be sent things to review myself, however I just never got around to it, but today that opportunity came to me! Yay!
Karlla-Gaga, who we all know as a designer goddess pretty much(She has to be one of the most featured dolls on the blog here^^) amazingly has designed two fabulous Chanel inspired bags and has sent me samples to give you guys a little review on =D This is my first one of these, so hopefully it'll be ok!
{The two RL designs her bags are based on}
They both come as StarDesign hair pieces, which is a first for me, I've never particularly been into clothing or accessories as hair, to me it's just not logical! So I'm trying to push that out of my mind while my focus is on these designs.
So I'll discuss the globe bag first:
My first struggle with this was getting it onto my doll, I'm no StarDesign hair expert, so I found this a little challenging, maybe you guys wont! But it is a well designed bag all the same =) I like it's very much glamorous feel, like I just feel like my doll looks elegant wearing it, no matter what clothing items it's with! It works well with pretty much all colours, so it's a very versatile piece, although it was so versatile that I struggled coming up with my top clothing items to wear with it! In the end I settled for a pink based kinda formal look which I'm really happy with. A point I will make it that as it will sit on top of any clothes you wear you might be limited with some skirts dresses and jackets which cover the hands, because then it just looks like a floating bag - not so good, but that's a design thing on Stardolls side! Overall, I do love this bag =D

Now the green Lego styled bag:
Out of the two, I think I'd pick this one as my favourite. Although it's green colour is slightly less versatile I actually had an easier time styling it! I went for a classic white, but I did find that black also looked fab, along with some other shades, it's pretty much a trial and error for you to see what works with your style and taste =) I found this bag easier to put on, so that drew me to it as well, it's also got a great shape and fit on the body. It also doesn't actually look like hair I find, like it could easily be a bag Stardoll has designed in the accessories section - to me that indicates a fabulously well designed StarDesign Hair item!

I hope this was a good enough review and that I did the designs justice! If you're wanting to buy one, you can head on over to Karlla-Gaga's page and request one - they are around 100SD's, which may seem a little pricey, but the designs have clearly taken a lot of time and effort and some recognition is needed =)

Cheap Monday Release

Stardoll has definitely been on a bit of a roll recently with yet another big release of clothing in the Nelly.com store, this time from the brand Cheap Monday:
I think this brand is a good addition to Nelly.com - it's young, modern and fresh, so I think it'll be an easy hit with most members! Even though I'm not so much a fan of the combinations that Stardoll has made on the mannequins, I quickly found many pieces I liked, so am very much looking forward to styling them with the rest of my wardrobe!
Prices range from 8SD's for a necklace or earrings to 25SD's for a dress, however most items cost in the late teens and early twenties - not too bad I don't think! I bought 11 items and spent almost 200SD's which is quite a lot, but the items I got are ones I know that I will use, so I don't think of it as being that bad! Although in the recent bout of expensive releases I am noticing my SD amount steadily decreasing!
Here's a quick snapshot of some of the pieces I bought:
Sorry there's no styled outfits again, I am exhausted after today at uni, in literally 9-5, was so hungry by the end it was unbelievable, so right now all I wanna do is eat junk food, watch some junk tv and sleeeeeep!

Wearing something from the collection? Send an imgur link below and maybe you will be featured!

Halloween Re-Release

Today Stardoll gave us another re-release, this time of the Tingeling Halloween Couture store that we saw a few years back:
I feel this move will definitely bring a mixed bag of emotions - those of us older members have already had these items, we might have even paid very large amounts for them as I know some pieces were quite highly sought after. But it is good for newer members who missed out on these items the first time around.
However they don't come lightly, all the items have a pretty hefty price tag on them, ranging from 12SD's for shoes to 65SD's for a dress, however most of the clothing pieces lie around the 30SD mark, which can be a large price to some.
I was around for these the first time, and bought a few pieces then, although I think I sold them all at some point or another, so I happily snapped up a whole bunch of items, including those here:
I got a couple of things I've been looking for for a while, being those two skirts above, but also got some riskier items to take some fashion chances with! I've been trying to add a few more daring pieces to my Stardoll wardrobe, trying to make myself look a lot more versatile while keeping to my usual style as much as I can. I spent rather a high amount for not so many items, but in all honesty I don't mind so much!

I would have a couple of styled outfits for you, but I am literally snowed under journal articles right now, like literally, I have the longest print queue in the world and the largest bundle of paper on my desk. Next to it are my last two sets of lecture notes that need written up. Kill me now!

Hope you're all having a good day!

YH Mini Release

Today saw a mini collection release of Young Hollywood based on the street styles seen at the recent fashion weeks. There are three different outfits available for purchase, one based on NY, one on Paris and one on Milan. For me out of the big fashion month I only really followed NY and Paris, no idea why, but those just seemed to be the ones I was more interested in looking at pictures from =)
So I managed to snap up a whole bunch of these items (slightly ashamed at the total price!) - I'm thankful that they are available for all members and not just SS, so those of us who have spare SD's, yet their membership has run out, can enjoy the fun too! Prices range from 45SD's for a hat, to 115SD's for a skirt. Probably a little on the expensive side for what the items are, but they are pretty limited and when I last checked, had been being snapped up at a reasonable pace!
I've styled two of the items so far:
Firstly the NY Used Denim jeans, costing 78SD's(850 pairs available) - I knew I had to have these as soon as I'd seen them. Yes, boyfriend style jeans have been in for a while, and I know some people consider them overrated, but I don't! I still love them and will wear them! They are distressed, but I like that it's quite minimal, too much isn't my style at all. I paired them with a simple white shirt, and chose other coloured items to spice the look up. The shoes felt like a no-brainer to me, for some reason, blue shoes came to my mind immediately and these were the first I saw in my closet. I ended up going with the pink cardi, and I'm happy with this choice - keeping up with the trends, and it sports that style, we all know the one, draping your jacket/coat/cardi over your shoulders rather than wearing it like a normal jacket/coat/cardi with your arms in the sleeves. I'm such a sheep for these sorts of style, honestly, you should see my pinterest boards!
The second look:
This one uses the Milano Blouse, costing 90SD's(750 blouses available). To me this is quite a classic piece, white lace. Or maybe I've just seen a lot of it around! I felt inspired for this look by one of my favourite fashion bloggers, and really decided to try step out of my comfort zone to make it. I knew I wanted to wear a skirt with it, but choosing one wasn't quite as easy as saying it! Literally every skirt I took from my closet worked well with it, so coming down to this one was quite a task. Like that last look when I just knew about the blue shoes, well I just knew about the gold in this one! For some reason, gold was the colour I had to go for, so I selected these Hotbuys Stiletto's quite quickly from my selection - I wouldn't normally wear a strapped shoe with leg showing as I am literally all about making sure legs don't look short or fat(in RL, don't even come near me with a knee length/midi skirt - on my body? Just NO! Haha), but for some reason, these shoes with this skirt looks fine to me ... phew!!! Chose this cute little heart bag which I find myself using fairly often, it just works, and for some reason always reminds me of fashion weeks, why? I have no clue!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings! I'll get back to reading science articles/writing lecture notes/coughing and choking all the time/reading and writing fanfiction/watching LoveFilm and you guys can let me know what you think in the comments! Come on, you know you want to =D
