A R C H I V E | Top Picks and Styled Outfits

Our recent Archive release brought us a whole host of Hotbuys to the Plaza, sure I would really love new Hotbuys, but these can perhaps tide us over in the mean time! Actually I would say I already have everything that I would want from this release as I was around the first time around, but this is a great opportunity for newer members to enjoy these pieces too. These come from the December 2016, February 2017September 2017, October 2017 and March 2018 Hotbuys collections - with the exception of the March 2018 release, during the releases of the other 3 we were running a series called WE WEAR HOTBUYS here on the blog and myself and the guest writers styled up every piece, so you can check those out in the past posts to see if you need to see some stylings before committing to purchasing! Today I'm picking my top pieces of the 40 on offer, those that I've kept a hold of and worn many times and am sharing looks that I've worn recently and would repeat again time after time!

H O T B U Y S P A T E N T C R E A M C O U R T H E E L S
Of course these come out top of the list, I'm not sure there's been a week when they've not been included in one of my stylings on the blog! So versatile, so easy to wear and a great neutral shoe when you're not quite sure what else to wear - highly recommend these as the best piece to buy from this release! [15SD's; original stylings *here*]

H O T B U Y S C H L O E I N S P I R E D L I G H T B L U E G L A S S E S
These I think are an obvious next choice for me, one of my most worn pairs of sunglasses - who knew blue could be so good?! I sure didn't, and I love that so much! The colour is light and makes them good in a range of blue-based stylings, as someone who likes blue, I find them very easy to style and they're a pair I know I always come back to. [14SD's; original stylings *here*]

H O T B U Y S K N I T T E D C O R S E T T O P
Another firm favourite of mine to style up year round - despite being bright red it works in many ways and it's a piece I know I can always rely on to look good. Love the neckline and cuff design on this one a lot and love showing those off. I think this one is a good crowd-favourite too and I see it styled on dolls quite regularly =) [15SD's' original stylings *here*]

H O T B U Y S P A T E N T R E D M U L E S
More red! These are one fabulous pair of shoes, I can't get enough of them! It was this pair that made me love the mule style so much and they're still going strong in my shoe collection. They've even been re-coloured in a release last year and I love having options of them like that. These look good in so many ways, they fill all your red-shoe-needs! [14SD's; original stylings *here*]

H O N O R A B L E M E N T I O N S
Cutting the selection down to just 5 was tough - these 5 pieces almost made the cut too so I have to include them! A couple are pieces I sold after styling them the first time around and I'm giving them another chance this time, hopefully it works out for them^

L I M I T E D E D I T I O N | Revisited 34-35

Sunday again, and time for the next LE Revisited! This time heading back to collections 34 and 35 from 2018. These definitely aren't amongst my favourite releases, but I do think there's some great pieces in both of them. LE34 is well known as the Milan collection with that fabulous interior, so the clothes are definitely suited to the fashion-forward city, while LE35 is perhaps a little more out there with a somewhat strange mixed country theme. Back at the releases I picked up quite a few pieces from each collection but that's now been whittled down to a manageable number of the pieces I love the best from these two, and I'm quite pleased with what I've got from them - my only regret is selling the Pink Shorts from LE35 I think! Onto the looks:
First up are the Silk Pearl Stilettos (34th Collection) which I bought at release and have been keeping hold of for when I knew I'd want to style them - that moment never really came but I just found I couldn't part with these so I've hung onto them because they're just so beautiful and really a stand out shoe design that's quite unique. The clothing pairing will look familiar, I've worn this top and trousers together recently but just loved how well they went with these shoes too, I couldn't resist! The trousers at this length are perfect to show off the ankle details of the shoes, and I used the pearl there to choose accessories, this bag and these earrings make sweet finishing touches to the styling^ Another accessory in the second styling, the Jeff Koons Inspired LV Clutch Bag (35th Collection) which really was one of a set in these artwork-style bags, I had them all originally but this is the survivor in my wardrobe! I like this one best for it's smaller size compared to the others, and the golden/brown tones are beautiful plus easy for me to fit with colours I like to wear - this outfit was super easy to put together, I think this bag is perfection with this light gold clothing pairing. I added more gold in the jewellery and I really love the pairing of those pieces together and with the bag. I really love this outfit a lot, I think it's great for Autumn!
Next up is a super cute set with a fabulous print but styled individually, firstly the Dolce And Gabbana Inspired Floral Bustier (34th Collection) which I love for the fit and design of the overall piece, the short sleeves are super cute and I adore the neckline a lot. I tried to make it work in a more Winter style here and I think it layers pretty well with a black polo underneath it, those bright florals really pop! I kept with black trousers for this one, but any colour thats on the top would have worked well too. I think the black boots and glasses keep for a sleek look, but I used a red bag to pair well with the red flowers in the print and I love that as a finishing touch for the styling =) Then there are the Dolce Inspired Floral Pants (34th Collection), of course in the same print, but I love having even more of it with these. These have a very nice design too, I love the crop length and the slight flare to the legs. I've worn these quite a lot since getting them, but definitely tried something different here with the white overcoat, I think it works pretty nicely! I kept white with the boots, but black would have worked well with the black top too. Again chose from the print colours for the accessories and I opted for yellow, it's also super fun and I think it also works nicely with the white coat - I'm super pleased to be wearing these sunglasses again as well, it's been a while since my obsession with them, haha!
I'm definitely ready for Winter with these two dark stylings - first is the Snakeskin Jeweled Bag (35th Collection), which I've worn quite a number of times, I love this Miu Miu design and the silver is great, this is one piece I'm so glad I have and would definitely recommend it if you find it in the Bazaar. I kept the colours with black, grey and silver and I think the bag stands out very nicely. It pops well against the black trousers in the look, and I think it pairs nicely with these silver boots, I love these two together a lot and I'll definitely repeat that! Then there are the Balmain Inspired Patent Leather Pants (34th Collection) which I've really not worn much at all - I styled them up for a 'Save or Sell' post and decided to keep them based on that styling, but haven't worn them at all since. I think what I struggle with it the fact that the spots are gold (I love that) but the sheen gives them a silver look and I don't know how to work with that! I do like how this outfit has ended up though, I picked a poloneck with a sheen to it to fit with that sheen on the trousers, but I worked with gold in the accessories and I think it works out ok. Love this black overcoat with the trousers though, I think the matte to it works well with them. I'd probably look to sell these trousers if I become SS again, but maybe I'll try and work with them some more this season.
Onto the final pairing of looks, time for pink! First up is the Ruffle Red Blouse (35th Collection) which is such a beautiful piece, love the colour and bold design but I have found it a little tricky to style in different ways, it's not too versatile. I normally go all burgundy with it, but tried out pink and I think this outfit really is perfect to show off the piece! I did go all burgundy on the accessories though and that works very nicely as they stand out against the pale pink and work well with the blouse. It's tricky to wear a coat or jacket with this piece when you're wanting to show off all the design features, but I don't really mind that so much in this case. And last but not least, the Blind For LE Crossbody Bag (34th Collection) which is another one that I've had since the release and really not worn - I think it's too beautiful to see, but I struggle so much with styling it and I know it's all down to the colour, it's between a deep pink and burgundy and I have nothing that colour-matches perfectly to it. The outfit isn't bad, but I certainly think it could be much better. The white base really lets the pink pop, and I like this blouse adding the little gold detail to pair with that on the bag. I also used gold shoes and I really love these with the bag, I think the tones of gold really pair nicely, so I'd definitely repeat that. The pink coat is pretty cute, and I do think it works with the bag, but perhaps it's not so good with the white. I did look online for some inspiration but didn't get very far finding anyone wearing this bag, so I'd love to see some of you wearing this bag, let me know if you do style it and I'd love to check it out =D

A N K L E B O O T S | Styling Shoes

One thing I always think about when considering Autumnal-based stylings are ankle boots, they're such a popular shoe choice for the season and one that we've had quite a lot of choice with in the Plaza over the years - I've definitely taken advantage of this because I have a ridiculous number of pairs in my wardrobe! So today I decided to style up 6 pairs of ankle boots in some fun Autumnal stylings. First up are the Open Everyday Heel (Bizou) which are pretty fun in their design with the split at the front, which is definitely something that attracted me to these boots. I love the cream colour, it's easy to work with, and I kept some of the cream tones in my outfit with these sweet printed trousers, I think the two are very nice together. I used the brown/orange tone of the print to choose the rest of the pieces in my look, it's super Autumnal which is exactly what I was wanting! These boots will look great with skirts/dresses too, I definitely need to use this as a reminder to wear them more often. Next are the Flower Boots (Subcouture) which I think I've never worn before, I love the cool printed design in a great red tone, but they're definitely a pair of boots that need some thinking about to style. I'm so pleased that I tried out these bright trousers with them, the colour matches perfectly with the printing and I just love the pairing! I was a little stuck with the rest of the outfit, I stuck with neutral colours as to keep the focus with the boots and I think it works nicely, but I also think there's more potential here. And the third pair are the Hotbuys Lace Up Boots (Original Future) which I think are super cute and are also a great Spring/Summer boot - the white keeps them super light and I love having the lace-up detail shown off. I kept with a cropped length to highlight that feature, these orange trousers are just great for this season. Again super neutral with the rest of the look, but it works nicely for the boots, I particularly like this overcoat with the boots, that makes a very nice pairing I think.
Then we have some darker stylings, maybe a little more Winter-orientated than the first Autumnal looks. First here are the LE Herringbone Booties (LE) which I styled up quite recently so really made an effort to wear them differently, and I think I'm pretty pleased with the outcome for these. I kept the base of clothing white so the boots and their detail really pop, I love that and I think it works very nicely - the style of these trouser works well with the boots. I'd love an espresso coat that matches the boots perfectly, but I think this oversized overcoat is a good alternative and works with the white clothing too. I struggled with a bag a bit, I don't think this is a perfect choice, so there's some room for improvement there! Next up are the Ankle Lace Boots White (BASICS), which are a great affordable pair that everyone can make use of, and they're pretty cute too. I went with the beige/brown tones and I think it works well to show off these shoes, the trousers are a complementary colour and the length is perfect to see the lace-up details. This matching top is great in colour and adds a little detail to the look with the ruffles on the sleeves which I didn't want to cover with a jacket. Kept the accessories simple, I think the small gold touches work well with the colours of the look =) And the final pair, the Hotbuys Backless Boots (Fallen Angel) which I really love the style of. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to do with these, but it's not quite worked out how I imagined - but it's a start and I can work on it next time! I wanted to use navy and black, but I think this pleated skirt colour isn't quite right for what I had though, but I love the midi skirt style with the boots. The overcoat and chunk knit keep a Winter vibe to the look, along with the fitting accessories for the styling. Not my favourite, but I'm glad I tried it out to know it wasn't what I was wanting =)

B L U E T W I N K L E P A I L L E T T E S K I R T | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

When I spotted this fantastic outfit from harpie styling up the Blue Twinkle Paillette Skirt I knew I had to feature it on the blog in some capacity - so it was the perfect opportunity for me to style it up too! I just love harpie's look so much, it's perfect for this piece and I know any look that I put together with it just can't compete. Using a base of black in the styling, the blue pieces on the skirt pop, I love the combination of this off the shoulder top and the thick belt, so perfect together and the also perfect for the style of the skirt. The sheen of the accessories in the shoes and bag is perfect to highlight the same aspect of the skirt - and the beauty look is just stunning! This skirt is a great piece and so fun, but it's one that I think many of us have struggled to style, I know I have. I've worn it a couple of times in stylings on the blog, so have managed to wear it in a couple of different ways over the years - and here's another way of wearing it. The light blue in the coat works nicely with the blue tones of the skirt and I think gives the look a lighter and slightly more casual vibe. What isn't casual are these boots, I think they're great with the skirt and I really love that pairing a lot. The rest of the accessories are simple in black - I'm someone who doesn't mind pairing black and blue together, but not everyone does so I'm sure some of you are hating on this light blue tone paired with all the black! I'm not quite confident or cool enough to wear the skirt in a style like harpie has, but I think this skirt does have a wide potential for styles and vibes =)

L I M I T E D E D I T I O N | Revisited 32-33

Now it's time to head back to the LE collections 32 and 33 which came out in 2017, these were a pretty fun set of collections and really quite about the glamour - I look at them now and think of all those party pieces we got! The glitzy pieces aren't so much my thing as I'm sure most of you know, but I do still have quite a few pieces from both of these collections and of course there are a few items I'd love to find in the Bazaar to try out on my doll. Onto the looks:
First up is a set I've styled up separately, which I think I've done maybe once or twice before with these pieces. The Dolce Gabbana Inspired Silk Blouse (32nd Collection) is a really beautiful piece, I love the loose pyjama-style fit to it as that's something I don't have a lot of, but it was a little tricky to style. Choosing colours to pair with both of these is quite easy as there are many colours in the print, I chose orange this time and stuck with it for the accessories, I love how it looks! I tried so many pairs of coloured trousers with this piece but nothing was quite right, these trousers were a surprising perfect match for the base colour of the shirt, I know I'll repeat this pairing to try out new accessories in the future! There isn't too much orange in the print itself, but I think these bold touches added in the boots and bag really help to bring that out, I'm quite pleased with the outcome here =) And then there are the Dolce Gabbana Inspired Silk Pants (32nd Collection), which have a lovely high-waist style with a slimmer leg at the top flaring out into a wide leg style. This time I picked out red and found this sweater was a lovely colour match for the print, bold in a different way to the first look. I balanced our the accessories in red and white, I thought red shoes and sunglasses might have been a bit much, so I'm quite happy with the set of pieces I've gone for, love this little handbag, so adorable and I think the colour and style fit very well with the trousers. Still so many options for these printed designs, I think greens and blues will also look great to pick out from the print!
Next up are the Sequin Sock Heels (32nd Collection) which are definitely my most worn piece from this collection, I've worn them quite a lot over the years, especially in the Winter/Spring, the glitter and the pastel colour works well for those seasons. This time I've gone with a matching trouser for them and I really love this combination, I think it works well. I struggled a little with the rest of the look, I didn't want to go too green, but perhaps the beige is a bit basic, it works nicely, but I think there's got to be some fun option there to add to this styling instead! I do really love these sparkly earrings with the look though, they're fab with the boots^ And then on the opposite side of the colour spectrum, super bold with the Elie Saab Inspired Palazzo Pants (32nd Collection) - these are just fabulous! I've worn them here and there in past stylings, but not so much in the last year or so. The colour makes them perfect for Summer stylings, and I've gone more in that direction that Autumn/Winter in my look - I just think this cool yellow top is perfect with them! The fit of the two is pretty perfect together, the blouse very naturally tucks into the trousers well, and the sleeve and neck design add great details to the look. Accessories had to be yellow, love bring out this bag and these sunglasses again, it's been a long time since I wore them last! And I thought these booties were a nice touch, yellow but more muted and I think that balances very nicely in the styling - I'm super pleased with this one.
I really love this pair of looks a lot, might be one of my favourite sets! First here we have the Alexandre Vauthier Inspired Metallic Boots (33rd Collection) which I wear quite a lot, I don't think you'd have to look too far through my Styled Outfit posts to find a look with them, I just love them^ I decided to go for this fun white skirt with the boots, the green really pops against and I love the styles of the two together. This white shirt pairs very nicely with the style of the skirt too, and I kept with a white earring which really pops against the brunette hairstyling. Super glad I got to also include this bag, the print colour is very complementary to the boots without being a perfect match, I think the style is great with the outfit altogether - I love it =D And then there is the Celine Inspired Midnight Gown (33rd Collection) which I think I've maybe worn only once or twice, I think most of you know I'm not so much a fancy dress/gown person, but I'm quite glad I've kept a hold of this one over the years because I love this outfit^ I added a long sleeve navy top beneath it so that it could be a more Winter-suited look without needing to add layers on top and cover the dress because that's a bit tricky with the design of it, plus I love all that draping, looks so cool! I wish I had the perfect pair of navy boots to pair with the look, sadly I'm not sure they exist, so I've gone with black and actually I'm pretty happy with how it looks, it doesn't seem out of place likely due to the darker colour of the waistband detailing of the dress. I stuck with black for the bag too and I think that pairs nicely in the styling, the blue-lens sunglasses on there are one of my favourite touches. I think for sure I'll be repeating this outfit!
And onto the final stylings, firstly with the Louis Vuitton Inspired Snake Bag (33rd Collection) which I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with but I think I'm more on the 'love' side now, it's been a struggle to get into a good rhythm with styling this one due to the shape and colour. Now I'm a bit more used to it so this wasn't a difficult look to decide on because these shoes make an awesome pairing for the bag, perfect colour match and love the sheen to them. I kept with lighter colours in the clothing so that  the brown tones really pop, which works nicely to highlight the bag. I like this brown top though, it adds just the right amount of colour-balancing to the styling =) And last but not least, the Alberta Feretti Inspired Long Coat (33rd Collection) which I think went through a phase of being loved and styled by a lot of people, but I've not seen it out in a long time, would love for it to gain some popularity this season! I really love this for the Autumn/Winter season, the colour is great, love the sheen texture it has along with the oversized style - it's been completely worth it for me. I decided to go a little wild/out of my comfort zone, I thought these leopard print trousers looked pretty fun with the coat! The print holds a lot of focus so I kept with browns for the rest of the pieces and I think it works out quite well. Not sure this is my favourite way I've worn this coat, but it sure is a fun way!

V O I L E | Styled Outfit

Whilst the latest VOILE release wasn't completely to my style, the sheen on the pieces isn't so much for me, I did pick up the Pink Trousers which I think are a pretty nice and versatile piece. I like the more muted colour and the looser fit on the doll:
I will say that these were a little trickier to style than I had originally thought, I felt very stuck in a pink/mauve palette and I didn't think that would be the case. White would also look good with these, but the brightness could be a bit too much contrast. Anyway, I do really like the two stylings I've put together. First up going for paler pink, I think it's a classic choice of colour pairing and works very nicely. This shirt is a great style for the trousers which I've worn more high-waisted with a cropped length, the ankle length is great for showing off a shoe, I've opted for these shiny pink heels which I've really been loving wearing this year - so good in many different outfit styles. I picked a light bag to match the rest of the additions to the trousers and I think it completes the look nicely. For the second outfit I knew I wanted to wear boots, and I just loved the dark colour of this pair that I've gone for, I think it works very nicely with the colour of the trousers and makes for a nice Winter-based pairing. Luckily I had a couple of accessory pieces that matched well with the boot colour, I think this bag and belt together look fab, it's a pairing I hadn't thought of before but I love it! This blouse is maybe a bit of a wild addition, but I thought the dark patches in the pattern of it worked pretty well with the colour of the accessories. I think the overall style of the piece works well with the outfit, I'm quite pleased with my choice to use it!
