Y O U N G H O L L W O O D | Styled Outfits

The start of the regular awards season has of course brought a brand new Young Hollywood release. I used to love the original Young Hollywood releases, but the focus on red carpet events mean the pieces aren't ones I use often. I always have high hopes for the accessories and maybe some separates and luckily this release brought a few options for those! First up are the Orange Heels, which I think may have been a super obvious choice for me as I love an orange accessory^ These were super easy to style and I know I'll get plenty of wear from them, plus they don't need to be solely for the red carpet, they look good in a more dressed down look as well. This little chain bag has a perfectly matching orange shade, and I think I balanced the orange well across the look. This is a super easy styling to wear, and I'd definitely wear it again. Next is the Anya Skirt which I'm really impressed with, love the colour, design and fit on the doll. And it really works nicely as a more casual piece. I did try to style it with some other yellow items but found they could be a little much, in the end this white-based look with the skirt as the stand out piece is a perfect way to wear it. It was super fun to accessorise and I think it will be a great piece for this Summer. And finally, the Wing Collar Tuxedo Shirt which didn't stand out in the store, but when I looked through the catalogue to check I hadn't missed anything, I found this and really loved it at first sight. It's a smart piece but I really liked the longer length to it, I don't think it's one I would wear tucked very often. As soon as I put it on I knew I wanted to wear a midi skirt with it and tried on almost every option, I'm so pleased with the combination I've chosen^ This skirt is blue, but the sheer aspect makes it look paler along with the use of the white boots beneath it. I kept the accessories very plain and I'm really happy with the outcome =)

I N S P I R E D B Y C H A N E L | Tribute Review

Our second tribute of the season is here and I'm really so excited about this one because it's Chanel! I feel like I've waited forever for a new Chanel release, but actually it's only been since the Summer of 2019 - I'm crossing my fingers for more this Summer^ Lets jump straight into this store:
The store has three floors and is packed with 15 (including a male look) fabulous and distinctly Chanel looks! There is a bit of a mix of styles and some fun colours thrown in there alongside the more traditional ideas of the brand. I really am excited by this one^ First up the accessories, of which I have bought a lot, I love them =) There are 4 pairs of shoes to choose from and these all really speak 'Spring/Summer' to me, so they're really preparing us for the upcoming season. The first pair that stood out to me were actually the Chanel Sneakers, I think you can never have enough super stylish trainers in your collection and these tick all the boxes. The light colour makes them easy to wear and while they're on the chunkier side of styles, they're not too chunky - just right for me^ The other 3 pairs are dressier for sure, but I think could be used casually with some creativity. I think the Fishnet Crystal Shoes are adorable and super preppy, I like the minimal black of the shoe so some of the focus is on the fishnetting, but similarly the Fishnet Long Shoes have sweet bow detailing on the shoes while still having highlight on the fishnet which is likely because it's knee-height and white. These pairs will really be down to personal preference, while I think they're lovely, they're not styles I would typically wear so I probably won't get them, but I look forward to seeing them being styled on other dolls. There are a whopping 9 bags in this release, and I'm all for this overwhelming amount! All of them are on the smaller side, which I'm all for as I find these more wearable, and a couple are super tiny which is sweet. Two of the bags stood out to me immediately, first the Small Camera Purse, I love the combination of the white and the light raffia, this is going to be perfect for Spring/Summer, and secondly the Sequined Purse in those beautiful yellow and red tones, it's unique in this collection and it really stands out for that. There are a couple of other over shoulder bags too, the Crossbody Purse which has a really cute small size and so many details, I also really like the darker colour to this one, and also the White Purse which is a classic quilted piece with an adorable heart detail on the front - of course I picked this up too, never too many white bags I say! Whilst I love the idea of the Micro Purse, the absolutely tiny size of it means I will likely avoid using it, so I'm passing on it this time, but the last bag I bought and want to mention is the Pearl Mini Bag. You must zoom in and look at the detail on this one, it's amazing, the colours are fabulous and the design is stunning, I'm super excited to style this one and have quite a few ideas already^ There are also a number of other accessories included in the store. I really love the Belt design, I think it's a classic with a twist and I'm sure it will be a popular piece. It's got boho vibes and I think it will do well in all seasons of styling. Onto the jewellery and there's really quite a lot here, with a number of the pieces available in both suite and beauty parlor versions. The Chanel Earrings stood out to me first, these are sweet and simple but stylish, they appear quite versatile and I think will be easy to style in a lot of looks. I'm also a big fan of the Chanel Chain Necklace, this is right up my street in terms of style with the gold and I think I will love working with this. There are also a number of long necklaces to choose from. My favourite is the Gold Tie Necklace, but the Necklace Set 1 and Chanel Necklace Set 2 also look pretty great and I think they will be very wearable so I might still pick these up!
And now for the clothing! As with the Vivienne Westwood tribute, the floors do seem to have some theming to them, so I will go through them individually. The first floor seems classic Chanel to me, all about the black and those recognisable Chanel pieces. The Black Dress With Slit sure stands out being in the middle of the floor and the gold has such a bold tone to it. The jewels and chains are great on this, but it's of course quite a stand out piece to wear and I'm not sure how versatile it will be. The Sequined Mini Shorts are also quite adorable, but again I'm not sure how wearable these will be, they don't really fit my style so much, but I really want them too haha! What I do love from this floor is the Crochet Sweater and paired Crochet Pants, this set is fabulous and the pieces individually look like they have some versatility. They're in classic black, but the white trim and gold details stand out nicely. My one disappointment is with how low slung the Pants are, I think they are so fabulous, but with the attached belt and how it sits, they will be quite tricky for me to style in the way I had envisaged, so I don't think I will be getting these. The second floor is all about colour and is full of fun pieces. Now so far I haven't bought any of these pieces, but I still think there are some gems in there. I would have loved if the Knitted Patterned Jumpsuit has been a two-piece, I love the vibrant animal print and think it would be so fun to wear, but just as a pair of trousers. The Leather Brown Vest with the outfit though does look very tempting, I love the dark brown colour of this and I think it could be more versatile than I was first thinking, perhaps I will give this a try! The Pink Jacket is a fun take on tweed, and actually I quite like this bold tone, but what puts me off is the low round neckline, I think if it was a higher neck then I would definitely be interested. The Patterned Jeans are also super tempting, really like the high waist and love the dark denim with the lighter pattern, but while I don't mind a straight-leg style, I don't like the length of these. I'd love to see someone style these and change my mind though. The final floor is a bit of a mixed style with both classic and bright pieces. My eyes are immediately drawn to the left-most look, the combination of the Chanel Body, Shirt Dress and White Wide Pants, this just looks beautiful and effortless, I love everything about it! This floor also has a couple of co-ords: the yellow Crop Top, Chanel Jacket and High Waist Skirt in tweed and while I'm not sure how often I'd wear pieces like this, I think the colour suits my doll amazingly, and then also the White Lace Jacket and White Lace Skirt which are beautifully designed and I'm definitely tempted to get these =)

F E A T U R E S
First up for features is bianca.vos styling the Chanel Sneakers and Crossbody Purse in a fun casual way, I love the Autumnal vibes this look has^ The jacket and bag combination is my favourite part of this outfit, these pieces are great together with the colours in the bag, and I also think that little strip of blue in the bag is perfect with the denim colour chosen - I really love it =D
I just had to include this second look from bianca.vos, this time wearing the Shirt Dress and Chanel Chain Necklace, it really makes the Shirt seem wearable and I'm super tempted to get it! I love the dressed up vibes to a seaside styling and I think the additions to the Chanel items are great. The skirt and shirt pair well together in terms of style and flow to the fabric and I love all the gold added in the accessories, the chain belt just adds an extra Chanel factor to the outfit.
Next up is rob_sef7 who styles the B&W Mini Jacket and Chanel Necklace Set 2 together in this very Chanel-esque look without even including any other Chanel pieces, I love it! The sheeny white of the jacket is perfect with these additional beige pieces, and I think it works really well as an open shirt with another jacket layered on top. I really love these trousers with the piece, I think they're the perfect addition as is the use of this pair of shoes which combines both beige and black. The open neckline is filled perfectly with the necklace and I love the additional accessory pieces added to complete the outfit^
The final feature comes from the fabulous harpie wearing the Leather Brown Vest - it was definitely seeing this outfit that made me think again about this piece, because it looks amazing here! The purple dress underneath is great because the browns in the print really make it work beautifully with the vest. The velvet purple bag also really brings out some purple hues in the vest which I love and give me a couple of ideas for it, I really love this one =)

S T Y L I N G S
I bought a lot of accessories from this release, so bag and jewellery stylings will be coming to you soon. First up in these stylings are the Chanel Sneakers and Belt paired together. I was actually testing these trousers out with another piece, but thought they really looks fabulous with the belt thus this outfit came about. The cropped length of the trousers was perfect to show off the trainers in the look. I kept the rest of the look simple but added black in the jacket and bag to really fit with the belt and I'm pleased with the final result. Next up is the Crochet Sweater which I had so much fun styling, I had quite a few skirts and trousers that looked good with this piece so I know there will be more outfits with it. I decided with this gold skirt to pull out the gold details in the piece, but balanced the look with black boots and I really love how that looks. I also added more black and gold in the accessories too, I couldn't find the perfect bag so I opted to not include one but otherwise I'm super happy with this outfit^ And finally is the White Top which definitely feels more of a Summer piece and I've also gone for a Summer styling with this outfit. I love the top and this lace skirt together, I think they're really a perfect pairing. I kept the accessories simple so that the lace and details in the top would be the focus, but of course added a little more Chanel with this bag - I really love it and will wear this again in the Summer for sure!

A Fitting Tribute

I've gone all out with the Tribute pieces today - this season of Chanel, Prada and Westwood are all accounted for in one way or another.

This Prada coat is a bit good isn't it? Pink and green is such a spring-y fresh combination. It always makes me think of delicate patisserie, so I've gone quite deocrative with the accessories, picking pearls and intricate gold. I think they work well with the strong silhouette of the heavier coat and 'nerdier' details in the shoes and glasses.

Overall I'm super impressed  with what we've had so far...let's see if it lasts!

L I M I T E D E D I T I O N | Release Review

Welcome to LE49! It's been quite a few months since our last LE release so it's about time for another release in the Plaza this Winter 2022. Apologies for the lateness of this post, the collection came out on the 18th of November, but life really kept me busy these past few months. Let's get on in and check out this collection:
This collection has three floors and 14 looks in total, including one look for male dolls. It is for sure a flashy collection, there are a lot of bolds and metallics in the colours and designs, so it might not be for everyone, but even I managed to buy quite a few pieces to try out that really work for me! First the accessories, there are a good amount with this release and a few non-shoes/bag items as well. There are six pairs of shoes in the release with a real focus on boots (no complaints, I love a good boot!). For me the absolute stand out pair are the Gold Pink Circle Boots, these have such a fun design with the circles and the colours are just stunning - I just love them =D These are also still available in the store. If the colours aren't quite for you, then the Silver Boots are also a good metallic option, the strap design is great and the silver colour is sleek. The White High Heels are the only non-boot option, these look great too, however they are more of a plain design so there's nothing particularly stand-out about them for the price. There are 7 bags in the release and for me these are really impressive. The first piece that I knew I had to have was the Pearl Purse, this is such an elegant design with lovely details and it just seems so wearable in my wardrobe. I've seen this one styled a few times on other dolls and really love how they've worn it too^ I was very tempted by the Studded Purse with its sunset colours, dropped strap and bamboo-handle design however I wasn't 100% sure, and by then it had sold out! But I look forward to seeing it styled by other dolls. I think the Gold Stringy Purse is also a great piece, I think it fits the overall vibe of the collection really well and think, for a gold bag, it will be pretty versatile. The final piece to mention is of course the Red Purse, my second favourite bag of the release, I'm a big Dior fan, so knew I would love this, the red colour is so bold and fabulous, and the design is very clearly Dior - I'm really excited to test the versatility of this piece. I didn't pick up any of the jewellery pieces this time, but I'm still considering buying the Angel Pearls Necklace (yes still available!), which is a very chunky piece with pearls. I've seen it included in a few looks and it always seems to look good =)
Now for the clothing. Amongst the bold colours there are certainly pieces in there for those of us who prefer a quieter tone to our stylings. I had seen the spoilers before the release and the one piece I knew I absolutely had to have was the Black Leather Coat - it for sure wins versatile piece of the collection! It's such a lovely basic piece that a wardrobe needs and I love many aspects about the design. The slight drop on the shoulders is great alongside the extra long sleeves, and I love the placing of the waist tie - it's just a perfect piece all round. The White Puffy Arms Dress is also super sweet for those looking for a lack of colour, the design is so pretty on this one, those sleeves really are fabulous! I really liked the dark denim colour of the Denim Body and Low Waist Denim Pants but I struggled to see how I would wear these pieces, I'd really want the jeans to be high waisted and then for me the duo would be perfect. There are a couple of dresses that I think are really too cool for me, but I still think are amazing: the Purple Leather Train Dress is so fun, the fit is lovely, love the deep V neckline paired with a long sleeve and the style of the train, and then the Leather Dress in black and red stripes is just so eye-catching, the midi-length is a great one to work with and the cross-over minimal top adds a great style contrast to the design of the skirt, I'm so tempted to buy this! The final piece to mention which I purchased on a bit of a whim but I'm so glad about, is the Cropped Sweater. The mix of colours is fun, the black really contrasts with the white, pink and blue which really makes it stand out in a crowd. I don't usually go for cropped styles, but this one isn't too cropped and is also a chunky knit with a poloneck design, I love a poloneck^

F E A T U R E S
First up is singiel who styles a number of pieces from the release, the Necklace With Rubies, Angel Pearls Necklace, Wrist Pocket Bag, Pearl Purse and the White Skirt in this fabulous look! I'm a total sucker for an all white look and this one is a great mix of a simple look with so much glamour added in those sparkling jewels and the fantastic bag - so so stylish^
Next up millaxx opts for a more casual outfit making use of the Tangled Sweater - I was so tempted by this piece and I think I will have a search for it in the Bazaar once it's sellable as this outfit really sells it to me! The greens and browns in the piece have been added to beautifully in the outfit, these trousers are so perfect with it and I love the use of this brown bag too, with the gold details that is perfect for the added gold in the jewellery =D
And the final feature comes from Bianquette who styles up the Fringed Crop Top in this oh-so-glamorous and fabulous way - I'm far from cool enough to pull off a style like this! The feathered style is very over the top, but with the slightly more simple pieces in the rest of the look, it's a well balanced outfit. The midi skirt looks great and I love the use of the red tights, a perfect balance with the top and the other red accessories included =)

S T Y L I N G S
And now for my own stylings - I picked up a small number of pieces and I'm pretty pleased with my selection. First up are the Gold Pink Circle Boots, which I just love, when I saw these in the spoilers before the release I knew I just had to have them! I really enjoyed styling them and found quite a few clothing options that I liked the look of, in the end this red skirt won and I really love it with the boots. I stuck with red for the bag but balanced all that colour with the black coat, I think the boots pop really well against this. Of course included some gold in the earrings, but I know next time it will be all about the gold in an outfit for these boots^ Next is the Black Leather Coat which is just fantastic and so easy to style - it's incredibly versatile and there were many options for clothing pairings. I decided on this fun black and colourful-striped set and I think it's a fun option with those pops of colour, included in the added matching bag. It's super simple but the coat does all the talking here. I'm a little surprised that I've not seen more people styling this one, would love to see some other takes on it! And lastly is the Cropped Sweater in what I think is my favourite outfit of the three. The colour mix in the piece gives quite a few options for outfits, and I went with three of them. I love this skirt with the piece so much, the pink and lace adds such a feminine touch against the black which I further added to with the accessories. The white boots keep it lighter and I really think they're the perfect choice here. I really love this look and would wear it again in a heartbeat =D

I N S P I R E D B Y V I V I E N N E W E S T W O O D | Tribute Review

The 2022/2023 Winter Tribute Season is finally here - hooray! I love Tributes so I'm really looking forward to the upcoming releases. The season is starting off with a bang, Inspired By Vivienne Westwood, which I think it really quite perfect for the time. It's not a brand I've kept up to date with but of course know a few iconic pieces and styles, so it will all be a bit of a surprise for me - lets get on and check out the store:
This is our second release of Inspired By Vivienne Westwood, with the first being the last Winter Tribute Season - for me this seems more successful than the last and other than looking back at the post I made last year, the last release was a little forgettable. I think this is a good step up! There are four floors in the store and they're packed with a wide range of styles and colours, and even include a male look. As usual starting with the accessories - I really like the bag selection in this release, there are 5 to choose from and I think they offer a good variety in colour and styles. For me the Mini Yasmin Orange Bag and Heart Shaped Bag are classic designs from the brand, the colours are vibrant, the designs wearable and the classic Westwood hardware is clear. I picked up the orange bag immediately and I'm still very tempted by the heart on^ The Floral Bag really stands out as something different, the design is light and sweet in comparison to the other pieces. I like the small size and the detail is super pretty. I'm also a little tempted by the Betty Mini Bag, it has a fun mix of pastels and bold colours and the tones are fabulous. The design is also very wearable so I may still pick this one up yet. There are 10 pairs of shoes in the collection, yep, 10! The choice is amazing with a number of styles and designs, they're just not so much my thing. I think the Bondage Boots look really nice with the red and tan leather, but don't like them so much on my doll, similar to the Platform Long Boots, these look quite fabulous but not on my doll. The most tempting pairs for me are the Cuban Flame Boots and the Cuban Flame Boots Black, I love the slight western vibe to these and think they will both be quite wearable - I've picked them up in black. There are just a couple of other accessory pieces, with the only jewellery item being the Big Pearls Earrings, but they sure are fabulous to have included in the collection! You really need to zoom in close to them to see the details, but those pearls look great and I love the sparkling gold holding to them. I love these on my doll so I'm looking forward to styling them.
Now onto the clothing. There does seem to be a little bit of theming across the floors, so I'll work my way through them from the start. The first floor is more about those muted tones which I really love, but while the colours are more minimal the designs are far from it and they really stand out. My favourite look from this floor is the Silk Broad Shoulders Jacket and matching Skirt, the silk fabric is beautiful and the light colour super wearable. The oversized design is a popular one and I think there will be many ways to wear these pieces separately too. The Black Dress With Slit is such a sleek piece and looks stunning on the doll - while I'm not big on buying gowns I can see that this will be popular. The second floor has a focus on pinks and reds and I really quite love this one. My eye was immediately drawn to the Lelio Jacket, this font printing is super cool and the bold contrast between the red and white is eye-catching. This jacket fits the dolls beautifully and I'm so excited to style it! I'm also a little tempted by the Cut Off Skirt, the tartan miniskirt is adorable and I think the colours of the tartan are super fun^ The Lacy Haze Dress which is more of a lace overlay is very nice and I think will work well with many outfits and styles, I just amn't quite creative enough for it. The third floor has a more grunge style to it with more of a mix of styles to it than the other floors. I think the Dotted Transparent Corset Top and paired Dotted Transparent Skirt are such a fun set, they really pop and they look amazing, I love the purple and magenta colours they have. Again these are pieces which I think will style well separately in some super playful stylings. The fourth and final floor brings fewer looks and a focus on one-piece stylings. As I said, I'm not so much a fancy gown-wearing person, so these pieces aren't something I will be buying, but I do love the colours of the Blue PVC Dress and the Yellow Fishnet Dress, super bold and the styles are very nice and on the more minimal side of things which I appreciate.

F E A T U R E S
First up is carol.dany styling the Lelio Jacket in a red and white based look, I really love it^ I also immediately thought of these loose fit trousers when I saw the jacket, I'm glad to see how well they work together and the tulle over-skirting is such a fun addition to the outfit. The white sheer sleeves are also fun and I think this pearl beaded bag is a fabulous piece for the outfit!
Next we have harpie wearing the Silk Broad Shoulders Jacket, which looks so amazing - if I didn't already love it then I think this look would have sold it to me! The mix of beige and light tones in the outfit is great, everything works together nicely and nothing just blends in. The sheer shirt tails at the front hang out nicely under the jacket and the belting detail really works well to highlight that. The little golden elements in the accessories are a nice finishing touch =)
And lastly is nandajfl who styles both the Corset With Puffy Arms Dress and the Printed Stockings With Belt - a classic combination from the store but with personalised additions^ The addition of the black corset ontop works very nicely for the corset piece from the store, it really gives it some shape it was missing, plus the tulle skirt is fantastic, really a perfect addition to the outfit. The stockings really get shown off with the sheer of the skirt too. I also love all of the pearl details added in the accessories, those are fabulous =D

S T Y L I N G S
Now onto my stylings, overall I've picked up five pieces from the release so far and I'm happy with my first stylings of three of them. Firstly we have the Floral Bag which I loved at first sight, and actually I've not seen anyone else style this yet. I really wanted to make pinks/purples a focus of the look to pair with the flower detail on the bag, I thought this might be a limiting factor but actually I had several pieces which had a perfect colour match to the bag. I chose this dress as it's quite fabulous and needs to be shown off more for sure! I think the colour and style is perfect for the bag, and I think the amount of pink is just right now to overwhelm the piece. I stuck with super neutral accessories otherwise, I love these boots with the bag, the colour is perfect and I kept with similar beige tones for the glasses and necklace. Something quite different to my usual style but I love it a lot and I'm excited to wear this bag again^ Next is the Lelio Jacket which is just such a fun piece with the print. The red isn't quite a bright red, so I did have to take some time to find some colour-matched pieces. I had several bag options which were all pieces I've not worn in a long time, so it's great to get them out again - I love the smart vibes this box bag is adding to the look. Red sandals balanced the red, and a white base worked out well with the white in the blazer, I think black will also work very nicely so I'll be trying that next time for sure! And last but not least, the Mini Yasmin Orange Bag. If you've been around for a while you know I can't resist an orange accessory, and this one is a great addition to my collection. This was such an easy piece for me to style, it pops well against the burnt orange trousers and I kept the rest of the additions more minimal in colour, the gold details in all of the accessories fit well with the metal on the bag and I think this light gold blazer really keeps the look bright and the style fits well with that of the trousers. I love this look a lot, and actually I'm so happy with my stylings of this release so far so I'm excited to work with the other pieces and also style these ones up again =D

Go West-wood

We said goodbye to icon Vivienne Westwood at the very end of 2022, and as expected, there are a lot of homages being paid at the minute.

Ten or so years ago, I went to a panel that Vivienne Westwood attended at my university where she talked about what it meant to be an individual in today's society and the future of fashion from an environmental and ecological stance. She was extremely interesting to listen to, if a bit chaotic, and fairly bonkers honestly. It's a shame to think she's gone!

It's either a fitting tribute, or an incredible coincidence, but we kicked off Winter Tributes with Vivienne herself. I really enjoyed this showing - lots of interesting, cool pieces but it was all about this blouse for me.

I struggle with purple - you'll notice I don't style it too often (though I'm trying!) and I almost always pair it with orange tones. This blouse is warm in tone though - a pinkish, reddish kind of purple - so I think it casts a little classier. Purple can feel like a royal costume or a bit childish to me.

It's all about the sleeves though - lots of scrunched sheer detail and a subtle polka dot that feels more like a texture than a pattern. They're a modern take on the Victorian silhouette, with that deep scoop under the effectively exposed bust.

And that's the vibe of this look over all - it's so covered and yet so indecent! The high split, the slivers of skin where the curve of the corset pulls away from the lower waist of the skirt. The risque sheerness, but the matronly headscarf. The hints of yellow, I hope, lift it a bit as well and bring a bit of irreverance.

This certainly won't be the last thing I style from this Tribute, you can be sure of that!

S U B C O U T U R E WINTER 2022 | Styled Outfits

Posting about another SUBCOUTURE release - a two-floor store packed with street style vibes for Winter 2022. This one has very similar vibes to the last Subcouture release however has a Winter-twist to the pieces with warmer styles included. Overall I really liked the boot selection in this release, there is a nice selection of pieces and even though they're not all to my style, I think as a whole they're a stand-out part of the collection. I thought the Cobalt Boots looked great, however I have a very similar pair so didn't need to pick up another, and I also really liked the slouched design of the Denim Boots and Sharpa Boots. Last to mention are the Zebra Boots, these are super cute, but I just wasn't sure how I would style them. For the clothing I really like the mix of colours on offer, but the styles weren't all so much to my liking - however I did still pick up a couple of pieces and I had a great time styling them! First up is the Colorful Patterned Top, I love the mix of colours and the glitter all over the piece along with the long sleeved design, but wasn't so sure about the cropped style. However I think I found the perfect pair of trousers to make up for the cropping, and I really love this pairing^ I stuck withe yellow and orange tones for the accessories and was so pleased to try out this bag with the outfit because the print is a perfect fit for the top - I'll be repeating this combination for sure! Next is the matching Colorful Patterned Skirt, and I generally think I would always style these two pieces separately and not together. While I did include a little yellow in the bag and earrings, I opted to focus on green for adding to the rest of the look and I'm super happy with this outfit overall, I think this shirt and the shoes are fantastic with the skirt. This is definitely a fun Summer look! And lastly from the clothing is the Long Brown Leather Coat which is one of the more simple pieces of the release and I also think one of the most wearable and versatile. I knew I wanted to stick with neutral tones for this look, I have plenty of brown and beige trousers to choose from and I really liked the looser fit to the pair I chose. Then I went a little rogue and chose trainers, but I love the outcome and the colour of this pair suit the outfit well. With the light colours also on the trainers I kept the top half of the look light with a white shirt and earrings, but my favourite addition has to be this bag - I've been trying to include it in a look for such a long time and I've finally found the perfect place for it =D
Then I did also pick up a couple of accessories - first here is the Oversized Shoulder Bag which I thought was quite a fun piece with a unique style. I really liked the leather-on-leather idea and am very happy to have tried that out with this one, I think the bag goes nicely with this jacket and also the boots. I tried quite a few options for the bottom-half of the styling and was very tempted by some purple sheeny trousers but actually decided to opt for something softer, and I think this skirt is a really fun touch! And the last piece is the Black Purse With Holes, this reminds me a lot of another piece, but I just can't think of which release it came from, but it's a pretty simple piece with a lot of styling options. I wanted to use some other holed or dotted pieces in the look and decided on these shoes which really made all the decisions about clothing for me - the white trousers really let the black pop and the red top adds some vibrancy. Stuck with black for the accessories to round the look off and I'm very happy with the outcome =)

New Year Who Dis

Hallo! Happy New Year! I hope you all had an enjoyable festive season.

I'm back after some technical difficulty with a fairly restrained, not northern-hemisphere-weather appropriate look.

This silver sequin-y top may be one of the oldest things I have in my wardrobe, but I really like how the texture of it has glitter, but it's slinky all at once. I picked up this silver and green skirt in the plaza sale not that long ago and thought they went together really nicely. The two shades of green are slightly at odds - the warmer, earthier, yellow-er green at the top down to a brighter, slight bluer green, so I went with a more neutral/iridescent vibe, thanks to clutch.

I did have a necklace planned (the fab giant pearls from the last LE release) but I realised I was digging the exposed decolletage, so I went with a chain and pearl belt instead, supported by some big, but delicate earrings and a simple wrist band. It doesn't always have to be all-singing all-dancing!
Here's to a mellow new year for all!

S U B C O U T U R E AUTUMN 2022 | Styled Outfits

The Autumn 2022 Subcouture release was a jam-packed set of four floors with a street-style modern vibe across the board. There's a really great mix of clothing and accessories with a lot to choose from - overall it wasn't so much my own style, but I can appreciate having a good range of styles released and I think some fun looks can be made from these pieces. I did pick up a couple of items though, first the Furry Top, which was the only clothing item I bought. I didn't really like how this was styled in store as I don't think it sells it to its full potential but I think it's a super cute piece and the neutral colour really stands out to me. This was trickier to style than I had imagined and the piece does seem much more Spring/Summer than Autumn/Winter, so that is the direction of my styling but I am very pleased with the final outcome^ The white trousers really let the tan tone and the feathered detail of the top. I had the perfect beige shoe to match the colour of the top, but struggled a little with further accessories. However I do think this little raffia bag is a nice option, the style of it with the top is super similar as are the colours. I'll be pulling this look back out again in a few months for sure! Next up is the Chain Bracelet - I like jewellery pieces but don't often go for bracelets, I thought this set was a pretty versatile one. I did struggle a little focusing a look on a jewellery item specifically, so this isn't my favourite outfit but I think the pieces work well together and the bracelets do pop out against the white and light gold tones of the clothing. Again this look is very much Spring/Summer. And the final piece is the Linked Transparent Bag which I really liked at first sight in the store. I think it looked very versatile and seemed like a fun piece to style, plus I'm really getting into silver more so I think this is a good piece to add to my wardrobe. Unintentionally, this look fits well with the white theme running through this set, but I really love this styling a lot! I tried out some silver clothing items, but nothing worked too well and I think these grey trousers just worked perfectly to both fit with the bag but also highlight it. The white top, blazer and boots keep the look light and the focus on the lower half of the look. The other accessories are simple but effective with the styling to keep the bag as the main attraction - for sure I'll be wearing this combination again =D
