Happy New Years Eve! It's become a little tradition to do our sum up of the years Hotbuys, and even though I did monthly Hotbuys Review instead of the We Wear Hotbuys posts, I still got AudreyHepburn. and Miloshki involved to pick out our favourite 10 of the Hotbuys this year! It was a tough job, I think we could have each picked twice as many, I know I had a hard time picking out my absolute favourites, when November was so good for me^ We got some great new styles and ideas this year in our 110 Hotbuys, and I loved trying new things out as well as having some of the 'old' added to the mix - we hope you had a great year with the Hotbuys too, and that you have a great evening tonight =D

2017 H O T B U Y R E V I E W

Happy New Years Eve! We did this last year, and decided to repeat it again this year, doing a round-up of our favourite Hotbuys of 2017, which was our second full year of the We Wear Hotbuys posts. We've each picked our 10 favourite HB's from this year of 120 to choose from and we've styled them up and presented them to you. This was a real mixed year of HB's with a huge range of styles and trends and colours, with a lot of individual pieces and some repeat offenders in there like straw bags and mom jeans! 2017 has had it's ups and downs with Hotbuys, but overall I think we've had a great year with HBs! I had high hopes entering the year and I think I've managed to get some fantastic pieces out of the Hotbuys on offer. While clothing takes up the majority of the HBs, for myself, I was super pleased with the accessories, which is quite the turn for me that makes me smile^ My top 10 choices include 6 accessories, so for me it's been a great HB year on that front - the shoes and bags have just been on great form, particularly towards the end of the year and the pinks and reds are completely spot on! Clothing has had some misses, but I'm quite pleased with several of the pieces and a lot are coming from great RL inspiration in terms of designs and trends, I can only hope everything continues and we get some more fantastic pieces in 2018 =D

In this year’s HotBuys, it was all about accessories for me. When I was browsing all the items we’ve gotten this year, almost all of my picks were accessories at first! In the end I wanted also to style some clothing pieces too, so did another browse. When talking about clothes, the two midi skirts I've picked are most definitely my favourites - but that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone! As you can see, there are no tops this time, only one jacket. I did try to look for a nice top too, but I just didn’t think any of them deserved to be in my top ten list! There a lot of red and pink shoes this year, and I loved them all, but included only my favourite pair here, the Patent Red Mules - I just love the pointed toe on them =) My looks this year are all pretty wintery, as you can see from the make up too and all these big coats, which are perfect for the season, it is so cold here where I live!

As 2017 comes to a close, so does my second year as Guest Writer and how time has flown! When looking back over this year of Hotbuys, I can’t believe how many hits we had. There are so many that I actually had trouble narrowing it down to a collection of ten! Overall, we’ve had lots of red and blues as well as some hefty designer name drops. My absolute favourite pieces are the Loose Fit Denim Jacket from It Girls and High Neck Designer Shirt from Pretty ‘N Love. They are super versatile which always secures a high opinion from me, and I can see them cropping up in many stylings to come. I’ve also found myself very fond of shoes this year – I could easily have added another three or four pairs but the Patent Red Mules from Rio and Valentino Inspired Heels from It Girls are instant colour-pop classics. Expectations are high now, so let’s hope 2018 is just as promising!

We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | D&G Inspired Box Bag

Here we are, the end of December 2017 and the end of the 2017 Hotbuys, what a ride! Tomorrow you can check out our 2017 Hotbuys Top Picks, featuring our top 10 HBs of the year, but for now enjoy this final HB! This is the D&G Inspired Box Bag from Fallen Angel costing 15SD's. It's a cute little bag that's in a seasonal deep red colour and has great golden accents. I love the strap over the bag with the padlock and flower keychain, they're great little details that really do stand out. Overall, it's a pretty good piece I'd say^

And as well as being cute and seasonal, I found this piece a really easy one to style^ Lots of other reds involved in all of our looks, but there's glimpses of some great versatility with this piece. I also think it's the perfect style for Spring, so I look forward to getting use from it in the next few months. And now for the final poll:

Back to the HBs now, with our penultimate one for 2017! These are the Miu Miu Inspired Platforms from Velvet Orchid costing 14SD's. These are a great New Year celebration shoe, perfect for those party looks with their silver straps ad those cool studs on the platform. I'm not a typical platform fan, but these don't look too bad from the outset!

Black and silvery tones are winners in clothing pairings for these shoes, which I think is obvious given their design^ They were an easy shoe to style, even though I don't get on well with platforms, but I think I could give these a go again, I have plenty of silver clothes to pair them with! We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | Bow Front Glitzy Dress

Here is our last HB before Christmas and it sure is perfect for a Christmas party! This is the Bow Front Glitzy Dress from It Girls priced at 24SD's, which is pretty reasonable for it. It's a pretty and glamorous party dress in a very nice silvery shimmery tone and texture. On this piece I really quite like the deep V front and the large bow belt, I think they're great features for a party dress. The length is to the knee, which almost seems a little odd, as these are always a bit of an awkward length to style with shoes, but lets see how we've gotten on =D

I'm really so pleased with all of these looks, just look how versatile this piece is! That was a completely unexpected finding from this HB! We've got a complete range of styles for this dress and a reasonable range of colours, with some more combinations possible, like looking more into pink with the piece too^ And as always, please vote in our poll:

We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | Double Chain Mass Of Gold

Not too many HBs left now, the first half of the month was pretty packed with them^ This next one is the Double Chain Mass Of Gold, another Beauty Parlor piece from RIO priced at 11SD's which I think is pretty reasonable for what it is. I like that the two chains are really delicate on this piece, I think that for one sure helps make a necklace wearable, and it also contrasts with the heaviness of the gold mass that's on the end of the necklace - I'm not sure how I feel about it, I'm not sure it's something I'd remember that I had to then style it, but lets see how we've gotten on for now:

So quite the contrast in styles, with two all black looks with one bright and blue at the end! It just shows the options for this piece! I did find it a little inconvenient being a Beauty Parlor necklace as it means you can't layer with outerwear or other clothing, which may be a deciding factor for some of you. I love the set of looks though, I think it did seem reasonably easy to style, but then again I didn't do something too creative! And as always, you can vote in the poll:

Next HB of this week, and still 2 more to come - this is the Bright Red Midi Dress from Pretty 'N Love costing 26SD's. I really liked this piece in the advertising, and had high hopes for it, well it definitely lives up to expectations! The red is a perfect party colour, and amongst the green tones of the rest of the HB's it stands out well. I love the midi length, it's beautiful and the design is fabulous and very modern while keeping to well-loved styles. It fits the doll perfectly and has such a flattering look =D

So pretty! This dress really does look amazing on everyone, and I really kinda wanted to just wear it on it's own without anything else as that would just look great =D I can't wait to see how other people work with this piece, I hope plenty of people buy it^ And remember to vote in the poll too:

We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | Faux Mink Hoop Earrings

The next Hotbuy is here - and there's quite a few coming this week! These are the Faux Mink Hoop Earrings from It Girls and they are priced at 10SD's, which I think is reasonable. These are another pair of earrings that come as two individual ones, which works well. The size sure is large, I was expecting these earrings a little smaller and a little less furry, but it makes for an interesting angle for styling =D

So cute, I love all of our looks, and I really wasn't sure how these earrings would go once on the doll, but I think they're a success! My only negative is that they're a Beauty Parlor piece and it means I might forget about them, but hopefully they will make a good impression! And remember to vote in the poll as usual:

Our next Hotbuy has been released! These are the Prada Inspired Feather Heels from RIO and costing 16SD's. These are definitely an individually designed pair of shoes and they definitely have a lot of unique features to them making them stand out in the Plaza. I really like the emerald green colour and the straps across the feet, I think they're great and stand out, and also the cool texturing to the heel, it's super stand out for the piece =D

There's a clear theme going on with our stylings of these, black is an awesome colour to pair these shoes with^ No complaints from me, if the shoe fits, as the saying goes! I've seen a few other members wear these today too, and there are so many awesome options for them, so they are reasonably versatile, even if it doesn't look like it from our stylings^ And vote in the poll too please:

We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | Valentino Inspired Stud Bracelet

Here's our first HB accessory of the month - the Valentino Inspired Stud Bracelet. It's from It Girls and is very reasonably priced at 8SD's, thumbs up for that! This is quite a small piece, so while I think it could easily get lost in an outfit, I think it's quite sweet and stylish. I like the red colour to the banding of the bracelet, and the square stud is quite typically Valentino =D

So much red and so much black! These colours typically look good with this bracelet, and there's so many pieces in those colours out there that I'm sure every single reader could wear a completely different red or black look with this bracelet, making it a fairly versatile piece^ I really love all of our looks so I'm sure you'll have a hard time choosing which to vote for in the poll:

We Wear Hotbuys D E C E M B E R | Mod Shift Dress

Our next HB and our next dress - this is the Mod Shift Dress from Pretty 'N Love costing 28SD's. I do think this is an expensive price for the piece, especially given that we've had a very similar dress before in terms of the design with the collar and the lace and the shift style, which is a little disappointing. The green colour is really nice though, and the red bow is a cute festive addition =)

This dress wasn't a hard one to style, in fact it was easy, but I don't think it's that great a piece - it has nothing that really makes it stand out much, especially not in this particular month of Hotbuys so I think it goes to the bottom of the pack sadly. But do remember to still vote in our poll:

And here is our first December HB, how exciting =) It's the Chiffon Long Dress from RIO priced at (an eye-watering) 39SD's, yes, very expensive, and I don't think it's all that necessary to be priced up there, but it is Christmas and the season of pretty party dresses ... lets hope the rest of the month is a little more affordable! So price aside, it's a pretty dress, the green colour is beautiful and I like the design in the top half of the dress with the mesh and the neck tie, and also the detailing down the sleeves. It's clear a lot of time has gone into this piece and I'm glad to see the effort!

Such a pretty piece and so versatile! I just wore mine as a plain gown, but from the other looks you can see the options that this piece has! And the colour works pretty well with other tones too =) Plus with this HB post we welcome our December Guest Writer, hankipankidoni! Going from this look, I have a feeling I'm going to be completely thrashed in the HB polls this month - so remember to vote: 

We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | D&G Inspired Leaf Headband

And here we are, the final day of November and the final HB of the month! It's the D&G Inspired Leaf Headband coming from the RIO store and costing 13SD's - not too bad I'd say. It does bare similarity to a previous HB headband we've had, also D&G Inspired, but personally I prefer this one - it has a really good size in ratio to the head of the doll, so it fits on quite nicely and the colours are beautiful and autumnal, I love the touches of gold to the piece as well!

The one different thing about this piece is that it's a Beauty Parlor one, so you can resize and re-angle it to your hearts content^ Which I think will definitely make it more appealing to the creative of you guys who want to turn it into something else! I was even more pleased with the colours of it once I had it on and had a great time working with eyeshadows for the my look, even though you can't tell in this picture! We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | Knitted Degrade Sweater

The penultimate HB today - the Knitted Degrade Sweater from Original Future costing 19SD's. I like the dip-dye colour effect, it works nicely on this sweater and I think it's a trend we've been yet to try in the Plaza. I've tried a few on in RL and I quite like them, so I'm happy to have this nude toned one for my doll! I was quite happy once I tried this on, as the fit of the sweater is really nice on the doll, it's flattering and I like that it's more fitted than loose which I think works for the style of it =)

Definitely a cute sweater that I plan to wear a lot this winter, I think it just needs a little time in my wardrobe to figure out what pieces and colours work best with it as it sure was tricky^ Don't let the colour put you off buying it though, it has great potential and I'm excited to work with it more! Here is the next HB and I can't believe there are still more to do, I feel like I've styled loads of HBs this month! This is the Prada Inspired Faux Fur Bag from Fallen Angel and costing us 24SD's and I think that price is totally worth it! Since my trip earlier this month I've been feeling bags so much, so this is a perfect HB for me! I love the furry texture to the whole piece, and I love that it's over-shoulder, I think it makes it an easily wearable piece. The colour is also fantastic, it fits with the other HBs this month and is pretty seasonal for this winter =D

I love our looks! We styled this bag super speedily, which I take as a sign that this is a fantastic HB! Red is an easy match for this bag and it works well, I went for pink, but I think orange will look great with the bag too and I can't wait to try it out =) And vote in the poll too:

We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | Missoni Inspired Scarf

Okay, all caught up and back on track with these HB's! This is the Missoni Inspired Scarf from Velvet Orchid and priced at 15SD's, which I think is fair for the piece. The colourings in this scarf remind me of a really cheap one I had and loved as a teenager, I've moved on to thicker ones now, but I think this is a cute style - I particularly like the longer design and slight over shoulder placement of it. It definitely makes it a different piece in our Plaza!

This scarf surprised me with how easy and versatile I found it to be! It fits on the doll well, and looks great with both light and dark colours, as well as with other patterns, this is so awesome^ It really makes it a pleasure to style and I look forward to using it again =D And remember to vote in our poll:

We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | Ripped Ivory Denim

Ah, here is our latest Hotbuy which landed in the Plaza yesterday! The Ripped Ivory Denim jeans, from RIO and costing us 23SD's, not a small price, but I actually think they're priced alright for the piece! From the advert I wasn't sure how much they'd work for me, but upon trying them on I was completely sold on them! I love the cropped flare style of jeans and these are just that, and I adore the ivory colouring to them, it's spot on with the current trends. Yes, lots of rips, but I think I might be able to look past that =D

I have so much love for these jeans!!! I really feel like they're a winter denim, and I'm not even sure how I can explain it with all those rips, but I just found them perfect for a winter styling^ The colour of them makes them pretty versatile with other colours and styles so I do think they're a good investment - I for one had a great time putting together a look! We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | Flocked Tulle Skirt

Keeping slogging through the HB's, almost caught up now, this one came out recently^ This is the Flocked Tulle Skirt from RIO and costs 21SD's, which is maybe a tad pricey for the piece, but it's nice nevertheless. For me it wasn't such a standout piece in the advertisement, but I really like the look of the skirt on my doll, the shape and style are both very pretty and I like the feminine feel to the piece with the more neutral colour palate making it easy to work with - I can see it being particularly good next Spring and Summer!

While I think we really tried to make this a more wintery piece, I can't help but just view this as a warmer-weather-item! It works well with the paler tones which suit the Spring and I think the light and airy texture of the tulle make it ideal for that and not the heavier winter^ Anyways, vote in the poll:

This next Hotbuy, the Proenza Schouler Inspired Pants, from It Girls priced at 20SD's, stood out to me as soon as I saw them! I loved the brown colour to them, perfect for autumnal stylings, and I loved the shape and fit, especially the rolled cuffs, I think they look awesome =) They definitely lived up to my expectations too, and I managed to put my look together in a matter of minutes, so I think spending a little time with them will mean so many more looks!

While there are some similarities amongst our stylings, I think we have all taken a different track with this piece - and we're very much loving boots with them! I think they have a good potential =) And as always, vote in the poll too, we love seeing which look you like best:

We Wear Hotbuys N O V E M B E R | Slip In Pearl Heels

And our next HB - the Slip In Pearl Heels from Pretty 'N Love and priced at 14SD's, which is pretty decent for a fabulous looking pair of shoes! These are a pretty elegant style of heel, they've got a slight patent look to them and they're in an easy-to-wear nude/beige tone which I think works out well for everyone! They have a little strap over the foot but look more like mules without a heel or ankle strap and I really like this, although on my dolls more tanned skin the strap is less obvious than on the paler skin tone. I'm excited to style these so lets see how we got on:
