Collections in the Runway store have been coming out pretty much every season since it's opening almost 2 years ago now and it has a pretty decent reputation as being a pretty trendy spot to shop! That being said, a lot of the big pieces, the popular pieces are quite stand out, even being real one-time-wearers, which puts me off a piece, I want to be able to wear it a lot of times and in a lot of ways so that it makes it worthwhile. After the last release I really spotted some wearable outfits, and not only with the most recent releases, also older ones - I think the previous Runway releases are definitely worth a little revisit as there are so many great everyday wearable pieces included in them, so get digging in those wardrobes!
Features First up in the features are a couple of looks with the Balmain Suede Legging Boots which have been hugely popular, I think these looks show they're not just a one trick pony! This is Mia1435 wearing them very elegantly with a golden draped skirt, the deep tone of the boots goes really nicely with the skirt and the contrast highlights both pieces. This look also shows the colour has an affinity to orange, with the clutch and blouse both looking very fitting in there - as is the lip colour, the dark tone is perfect against the boots!
And keeping with the Balmain Suede Legging Boots is tolady in this quite casual styling and pairing the boots with some colour-matched sheeny trousers, what a cool idea, eh?! This is great and really highlights versatility in the piece. I love the relaxed and more masculine feel to the top half with the loose open shirt. The accessories are cool and current, with a belt bag and this very nice LE piece chosen^
I really am still thinking about buying this next piece, the Galliano Inspired Fringe Coat, as there's still some left in the store! This is my most worried piece about being a 'one trick pony' as it's really quite stand out - but I think Mh91 does a great job in making it somewhat of an everyday piece with these silver metallic trousers, they're fab and pull some attention so the coat doesn't get it all! The accessories are fitting and definitely add to the look, especially the shoes with their purple trim^
And lastly highlighting that the older pieces still look good too - featuring the Galliano Inspired Dress worn by Caah_contel^ This dress look so good, and perfect for spring and summer but it's really never gotten much attention before. It's pretty current with the long hanging straps, the ruffled skirt and the open deep V at the neck and I think it definitely has the option to be pretty versatile with a little effort. I looks great in this minimal styling, with just accessories added - the red makes the look stand out, but the sunglasses and belt are perfect too^
Styled Outfits And now for my contributions! I really delved back a little and didn't choose from our most recent release. First up the Felder Felder Inspired Pants, a glittering skinny pair of trousers which are definitely in a more interesting mossy green tone and I think that's what has made them harder to work with. These came out in the spring 2016 release of the store I had good fun this time and pretty quickly came up with a sweet casual and wearable autumnal outfit for them, they suit the dark brown of this overcoat really nicely and the white sweater brightens the look but keeps it seasonal - in fact I didn't look back at my stylings of before until after putting this look together and I've used the same coat back then as well, it must be a winning combination^ Secondly the Erdem Inspired Ruffle Mini, a sheer but floral printed piece from the summer 2016 release and also paired with the Runway Full Slip worn beneath from the autumn 2015 release to combat the sheerness of the top piece! For me it's obvious to go for either blue or lilac when styling this Erdem dress due to the flowers, so I did just that and added a whole lot of faux fur, but it works! Although the coat is large, you still see enough of the dress. I kept it a little more on the winter side of things by adding the boots, and I think this works out nicely, I'm happy with it all round^ And finally, the most recent piece in my stylings, the Malene Briger Inspired Jacket which came out in the autumn 2016 release so isn't all that old, yet I never see people wearing this piece! I had a look back at my previous styling of this piece, and it wasn't all that great so I knew I had to do a better job this time - these jeans were an obvious and perfect fit! The whites I've used beneath the jacket are slightly different tones so definitely let the jacket and it's textures stand out really well. I didn't do too much accessorising as I think any more would have taken away from the jacket, so just some boots and a matching bag is enough for me =)
