A N T I D O T E | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

We got some brand new Antidote a little while ago, and it's never really been a store I have interest in, so I decided to do a little Style post instead of a review^ There are some fab individual pieces from the release and you guys have really shown off how it's done! Firstly Heneda, going bright with the Antidote Acne Inspired Down Vest, and I really think this look sells the piece well =D The sweater with the orange collar is a perfect match, and the black trousers are a good basic choice. Love the small patent bag choice, but also the silvery focus with the earrings and heels, they're pretty awesome^
Next up is Mh91, going with the Antidote Bell Sleeve Sweatshirt, which was hugely popular and sold out super quick^ The creamy colour looks great paired with the muted green on the skirt, such a great colour pairing and I wanna wear it myself now. Also love the use of layering with the skirt choices, it's an effective way to style these two pieces and it just looks awesome, as do the silver based accessories again like above =D
And lastly MUNCHKIN_XD going with the Antidote Culottes Denim in this very street-style cool look! This is just such a cool look, and I can't think of any other way to describe it! Love the top combination with the dark denim, it works well, and it also played on with the sock choice, that whole creative-ness surrounding the shoes is fantastic! Plus a great look for this delicate over shoulder bag =D
And now for me^ I didn't make any rushed purchases - I tried a few pieces on when I saw the store had been released, but I left it for a few days before deciding to buy anything, and in the end I went for the Antidote Culottes Denim. I do agree that they look very much like the It Girls Two Tone Kick Flare Jeans in their shape, but after seeing a few stylings I decided I'd give these ones a go myself =D And when I was looking through the store to write this section yesterday, I actually decided to make one more purchase, the Antidote Sweatpants which come in an army green, which somehow really sold the piece to me, I like how they look in the store, but I've not seen anyone wear them, these days I think along the lines of 'why not go for it!' with my purchases and style choices on Stardoll! So far I'm pretty happy with these two choices, although I think they'll be perfect fro spring stylings, so I look forward to wearing them then =D

Long sleeves long legs

Love this autumnal-ready look from Munchkin_XD in this feature! I love the relaxed fit of the trousers, they look great on their own too, but I think this outfit really highlights them. A classic white polo has been chosen and the chain mesh vest is such an inventive way to change things up - it suits the items perfectly and adds such a stylish touch =D

Maxi ties

Love this stylish look from MUNCHKIN_XD which features the Blue Maxi Dress from the brand new TRAILS store. I think this is a great look for the dress and gives it such a different vibe, for me it really gives the dress a great light compared to the store and I take more notice of it now than I did before. The polo is a great clothing combination for the dress, and the accessories are great! The chunky wedge adds height to the look, but I love the tie necklace and the sunglasses, super classy instead of casual as I think the dress was initially intended!

S P E C T A C U L A R | Release Review

This is a little unusual for me - but I'm doing a Spectacular review! This very seasonal appropriate sunglasses release came out last week (maybe the week before?!) in time for us to dress for the sun! I love the homepage ad, the blue sky pulls you in and the orange is a great bright contrast and catches your eye well - ticks all the boxes for a good advert I'd say =D
So we got the usual one floor of Spectacular, that means twelve brand new styles of sunglasses to choose between! Choosing was somewhat difficult because of the huge range of colours and designs available with this release, which is great - there really is something for everyone!
The majority of this release are 'inspired by' items, meaning they come from a designer brand that we have, and with something like sunglasses, I think a lot of us like that for Stardoll, I know I do In fact, 9 of the 12 pairs available are 'inspired by' items - so I think I'll start with those^ The 9 pairs are split pretty evenly into printed/patterned and then the more minimal items of just one or two colours. There's two leopard-print-esque pairs, the Dolce Leopardo Shades and Prada Inspired Shades. The first have a more rounded style with the popular square cut top corner, while the second are metal-framed with individual rectangular lenses. Not all styles suit everyone, for me the rounded ones work much better, but I'm sure some of you have noted the opposite^ Then there are the more floraly styled pairs, the OTT Dolce Shades and Fendi Inspired Confetti Shades, and I have to admit, I'm a sucker for both pairs, I think they're great! The Fendi pair have a more cat-eye design, with the print solely in the top corners, which I really like the effect of. I also love the perspex taupe tone of the frames, it's a classic colour which I think will attract a lot of people. The Dolce pair are very much as described, OTT, with their huge frames and rounded lenses with a whole hoard of floral additions. They are pretty large on the doll, but with the right outfit I think they could look amazing! And then the minimal 'inspired by' pieces, of which there are 5 in a decent range of colours and shapes. Within that I'd say there were definitely 3 levels of minimal, starting with the basics, the Chanel Inspired Two Tone Shades with their black frame and orange/brown tinted lenses along with a classic shape. On the next level is a little colour, the Marni Inspired Green Shades in a fresh tone with a cool perspex frame, and the mauve Miu Miu Inspired Shades which have a sleek modern design with hints of metal and cool bottomless frames, these are such a unique pair to have in your collection! And lastly the least minimal of the bunch, the more blue pairs, the Dior Inspired Sky Shades which have mirrored portions to the lenses and the Matthew Williamson Inspired Shades which have a cat ear shape and a different blue streak design across the lens, it's certainly something different to choose for your doll! Quickly the last few pairs, the non-inspired items. I'm really only a fan of one pair, the Monochrome Gradient Shades which are great in the brown/nude tones and I think they suit my doll pretty well. The shape is fairly regular for sunglasses but nevertheless, I think they're a pretty flattering style.
Prices in this release range from 10 to 15SD's and there are a pair in SC's, which is a great inclusion. There's also the typical inclusion of a SS only pair, but this doesn't really bother me much given the huge range available in this store.
And I did some styled outfits for this one! I bought 3 pairs in the end and I've styled two of them today. Firstly the Monochrome Gradient Shades, the SC pair, and I styled in similar brown tones. I think my look is pretty autumn, but sunglasses work all year round^ I really like them paired with the faux fur and I think this is something I'd repeat. Secondly I've styled the Marni Inspired Green Shades and knew immediately I wanted to pair them with this YH dress, the shades are a great match! Kept it a little casual with this sweater, but really liked wearing these sunglasses so I look forward to putting them on again =)
And a couple of features now! Firstly ccaauu1414 also going with the Marni Inspired Green Shades in this slightly retro-styled white based look. The white scarf is a great choice and I think it really helps the green tone of the sunglasses really stand out, in fact they were the first thing I noticed about the look which is exactly what you want!
And secondly MUNCHKIN_XD, who has chosen the Fendi Inspired Confetti Shades. The colouring of these suit her doll very well, especially the hair shade. The patterning of the sunglasses is continued in the outfit with this fruit-printed dress, and I think it works out pretty well!

Socks and sandals

Almost sports luxe today from MUNCHKIN_XD with her socks and chunky-wedges look! I really like this outerwear combination, the shapes are complimentary to each other, and grey and black together wouldn't really go wrong. It's kept cool with this white skirt and the split keeps it being a modern style. Great hair choice too with the wavy over-one-shoulder style - I like it^

I N S P I R E D B Y J O H N G A L L I A N O | Tribute Review

It's the start of Tribute season! This first one is Inspired By: John Galliano and I'm super excited this season is here^ When I heard what it was, I wasn't too bothered as it's not a brand or designer that I particularly lust after, but the spoilers definitely boosted it in my view, and the homepage advert shows huge detail and intricate designs - it gives an excitement to see what's inside the store =)
I love the Parisian theme out the windows of these two floors. I do feel like it is quite a sparse collection which is largely down to the emphasis on the gowns and stand-out pieces. Some people love this, but I think I'm more one for numerous smaller pieces that I can work into several looks and styles.
A quick start with the accessories - there's not a huge amount to choose from in my opinion, but it's probably all down to style taste and interests, for example I'm not a fan of the Galliano For Dior Runway Makeup or the headpiece choices such as the Couture Headpiece or Regal Plume Helmet. There's actually only one bag in the collection, the Galliano Inspired Chain Purse which I really like with it's navy colour and adorable delicate design. It's perfect for dressing up, but I think it would look good in slightly more casual outfits too. There are a few pairs of shoes available, with flats, heels and platforms on offer. I really do feel quite attracted to the Omate Galliano Inspired Boots - I love that they're flat and they've got some goldish detailing. My only problem is the shape, I don't feel like they're flattering on my doll, anyone gotten around this? Let me know! Also love the Galliano For Dior Feather Heels which are the minimal choice of this release and their slingback style makes them a unique pair in the Plaza.
And then the clothing. There were male choices with this collection, which is good, and they're not too plain either - I think the Galliano Inspired Mens Coat will be a huge purchase, and not for the guys because it fits female dolls pretty well too! The girls clothing has a huge focus on gowns and dresses with a range of styles available. There's a lot of detail in pieces like the Fall 2016 Sheer Dress or the Embroidered Regal Gown, while the second floor has a taste for flair in those ruffles! I love that there's baby blue and pink in the Charlize Powder Blue Gown and Galliano For Dior Inspired Gown, and for something a little more risque on the same lines then there's the Sheer Galliano Inspired Gown with a very sweet ruffled hem. I really thought I'd love the minimal pieces (the 20s Style Galliano Gown and Off The Runway Mini) but I just didn't at all once I saw them on my doll, which was disappointing - any of you guys hit it off with those pieces? Let me see your looks! Also on the slightly more minimal theme are the Vintage Galliano Inspired Trousers and Blazer, I love the trousers, they've got good fit and style and the set gives a little something different to the store. And lastly the outerwear which is pretty flashy too! Both the Asian Couture Coat and Galliano For Dior Regal Coat are big pieces, in more ways than one, with their size, vibrant colours and intricate designs. I've not seen too many people wearing them, but honestly they're not my style either, so it's not something that surprises me too much.
Prices for this collection ranged from 10 to 48SD's and there are a few pieces which are SS/Royalty only, but I think that was expected to be honest. Prices are pretty good I'd say, sure if you buy a lot them it will quickly add up, but if you make smart purchases then they will be worth it for you^
Next a few styled outfits. I really didn't purchase many items, just three or four pieces - my purse is pretty happy about that! So I've just styled the Vintage Galliano Inspired Trousers here, I did find myself going down one particular style route, and I actually don't mind that so much this time. With the pinstripes I found plain colours simple to work with and loved going with black and whites pieces. I did enjoy adding my colour through shoes and this is something I'd continue with with these trousers and maybe include bags or jewellery particularly some earrings^
And then a whole host of features! Firstly GMonster styling the very fabulous Asian Couture Coat. It sure is a big piece to pull off, but I think it looks great here, especially with the yellow ad golden feel of the clothing and those awesome earrings. The green tones in the shoes are also great, I can't seem them looking good in an outfit other than this one!
Such a sleek look from lisjade wearing the Galliano Inspired Mens Coat. I love how the tones of it really shine through when put with those black trousers and those shoes (which are almost black but not quite), and the texture really stands out when paired with the Dior bag - everything has been thought out so well for such a minimal looking look on first glances =)
And next three looks all wearing the Fall 2016 Sheer Dress! Each has combatted the sheer aspect in individual ways and they all made this piece look fab! Firstly anisa123, wearing a bandeau and black maxi skirt beneath the dress along with the Galliano For Dior Feather Heels. This minimal style works well for the dress and lets it stand out, but it's all down to those red lips that keeps your attention =D
And then MUNCHKIN_XD who only adds to the sheer by choosing a long sleeved polo body, I think it does really work out in the dress' favour^ I especially love those brown boots, they are a surprise match and I love it =D Again those lips are such a great colour, I need this skill of great lip-matching!
And lastly xxxbritneyxxx6 going for a very warm wintery style, who knew it would work out?!? This menswear sweater looks to be a great choice for this dress and it really lets the print leap from the screen and draw your attention. Also love the boots with this one, and surprise, surprise, the makeup choice - yellow lipstick wouldn't work out on me I don't think, but it's great here!

Colourblock

Now we've seen this DKNY Colourblock Tube Dress styled interestingly before, but MUNCHKIN_XD has taken it one step further. It looks great paired with this long sleeved poloneck, but I love the addition of the Solange White Capris with those mesh cut out boots. Typically this isn't the sort of combination that would catch my eye, but I do think it looks good! I also like the use of the new Minimalism Classic Fendi Style Bag - it's a SS only piece, but this look alone makes me what to buy it whenever I plan on renewing. Overall a great job^

Trench

I really liked this look from MUNCHKIN_XD, there wasn't one specific thing which drew me to it, but I just really liked the overall feel! I love the lace white jumpsuit and I think it adds a nice base for the mesh skirt, a piece which I don't see worn well very often, so great job! I love the use of the Dior shoes, another hard to wear item, but again worn fabulously! The trench is a good finishing piece and I adore the hair chosen too^
