T I N G E L I N G C O U T U R E | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

The spooky season brought us a brand new release of Tingeling Couture (and is halloween themed, but it isn't included in the store name this time) - generally not so much my thing but there were a couple of great pieces that caught my eye and I knew I had to have. I spotted on of them be worn by Elrry, and that is the High Waist Skirt - isn't this look fantastic?! I love the flowing blouse paired with the skirt, the colours are a perfect fit together and the styles blend well, particularly with the inclusion of the nude bustier, it's a super fun style addition. Love the vintage style shoes and bag, the colours stand out nicely against the skirt, and the beauty styling is super glamorous^
And then for my stylings, I actually found the High Waist Skirt a little tricky as I found a lot of pieces that looked good with the skirt, but just not all in one look - I think I'm happy with my styling here, but I think there's room for improvement! I love these sleeves with the skirt, they definitely add a nice amount of detail with the slit in the skirt. I don't normally like boots like these which don't cover the whole leg in the skirt split, but I kind of think this works out ok, I can see it working nicely in RL and I like the bold colour contrast a lot. This bag is my favourite part of the look, the colour is spot on with the skirt and I can't wait to pair it again! And then I also loved the Snake Bag with it's cool designer vibe to it - also those colours are beautiful, I think they're great for my style ideas these days. The colour scheme follows on nicely from the first look but features more dark tones - I liked this beige sweater with the bag colours and these green boots kind of got picked by default but actually I think they do work out ok in the styling! All the black makes it a winter-appropriate styling, and works well with the black base to the bag - I'm super pleased with this one =D

Faux Fox Vest # W E S T Y L E I T

Choosing a few final festive-based pieces for the last We Style It posts, this one is the Faux Fox Vest which was released in Tingeling Halloween Couture 2 halloweens ago - however it's a piece that still crops up now and again, and it's easily one of the most memorable pieces from that collection. It can be found in the Bazaar, and is pretty easy to find at a reasonable price =)
So it was myself and Miloshki styling this piece and I really love this pair of classic looks for the piece^ We've also both styled it layered with outerwear, and while I've gone with a cream-based styling layering it ontop of this awesome cream overcoat, M is styling it underneath this red velvet blazer - I think it works in both situations quite nicely^ And I think it will look good with many other coats and jackets too. With my look I stuck with the neutral colours for the rest of my clothes and used the deep red in the accessories like my bag and shoes. And while the belt on the vest is nice, I added a different one to really emphasise it over the coat. In M's look there is a further focus on black and white, the base colours really letting the outerwear stand out against the dark base. I love the use of the checked printing on the skirt, it't great against the red. The accessories are cool too, love these patent booties with the red heel, they're perfect here!
Overall I think we've done a great job at showing the versatility of this piece and hope to influence or inspire some of you guys to wear this piece =D

T I N G E L I N G H A L L O W E E N C O U T U R E | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

Last week brought us a brand new release of Tingeling Halloween Couture and while I've been quite pleased with these in the past, I was disappointed this time around. It was very much more halloween themed than couture and I felt like there was a lack of easily-wearable pieces or even accessories that could work in a range of styles, and I feel like this was universal across members. I have spotted a few stylings and decided a Styled post would work out better for this store than a review!
Features First up here we have Mia1435 wearing the Double Breasted Electric Jacket and matching Electric Tuxedo Pants. It may be a minimal styling but it is effective and that suit does all the talking with it's bold colour and crossed patterning on it. The black base is good, I like the same texture on the bag and it's a fab fit for the clothes. Plus look at those piercing eyes with the matching blue makeup - fabulous =D
And our second feature - you can never be disappointed with pandaribbon styling up all the latest releases and this was no exception, the store really looks wearable in these stylings! These looks make use of the Spider Body Necklace and the Spider Web Chain Dress and both of them stand out well making beautiful couture-styled looks! The mannequin is styled with a cool printed body beneath the chain, which is really effective, and then on the doll, there's a lot of sheer going on with shine, this maxi dress is fantastic with the jewels!
Styled Outfits So for me the only piece I would consider buying was the Double Breasted Electric Jacket and as you can see I did^ I don't think it looks quite so good without the Electric Tuxedo Pants but I gave it a good go! In my first look I tried a different printing, but I really like the sheer skirting with the bold colour of the blazer. I stuck with a black base, in both the looks, which I think is an effective way to go with this piece^ In the second look I used these shiny trousers and the checks on them match the blazer pretty well. Also stuck with black base and I really like the texture and feel of these boots with the look ... and also the earrings, I think they really draw attention to the top half of the look with the blazer =)

T I N G E L I N G H A L L O W E E N C O U T U R E | Release Review

It's that time of year again for new halloween themed releases and the end of last week brought us an anticipated one, the Tingeling Halloween Couture release! It's generally a very dressed-up store and so sometimes I only buy a few pieces which I know will work on a more everyday level, lets see how the store got on:
Overview This release is two floors filled with couture-styled pieces perfect for dressing up. The theme is very glamour-infused, most pieces aren't so everyday casual, but I think some of you forward-minded readers could easily wear these pieces all the time! There's also a male look included, but again it's a kind of stock male look for a release, it's nothing too special but it certainly fits the theme fine.
Accessories There's quite the range in the accessories category with this release because as well as the regular items there are also some makeup pieces you can choose from as well, and there are both eye and lip pieces to choose from. The Green Ombre Lips are maybe a little questionable on the wearability, but I love the colour and I think it might entice more people if it was a lipstick rather than a set of lips. Then the eyes, the Snake Eye Makeup Left and Right then the Snake Effect Makeup Left and Right with the first being a closed eye style with a snake patterned liner and the second being more of an eye decor than a makeup look. I think the second look, with the scaled pattern in a pretty green tone is definitely my preference! Then there are the regular accessory pieces, but there's not a huge range really. There are two pairs of shoes, the Snake Effect Heels and the Emerald Booties, and those boots had my heart as soon as I saw them! I love everything about them, the style, design, texture and colour, I think they're fabulous and am very excited to add them to my wardrobe =D Also just one bag to choose from, the Heart Snake Clutch, and while I love the colours and tones, it's not something I'm in a rush to add to my wardrobe. In the rest of the accessories, snakes have a huge feature, the Diamond Snake Bracelet, Serpentine Headpiece, Chunky Serpentine Necklace and Red Hot Chilli Pepper. These are definitely quite stand out pieces, and for me, not so versatile, but they're definitely worth thinking about, because they might fit into your looks really well!
Clothing The immediate stand out in the clothing are definitely all those gowns to choose from! There are 6 to pick from and I think the choice in colours, designs and styles is really great. I'm a huge fan of both metallics and green, so the Gold Scales Gown, Velvet One Shoulder Gown and the Chiffon Beaded Gown are where my eyes go in the store! They've all got amazing shapes and fit on the doll, and they're pieces I can see myself wanting to wear and not just own. There's also red choices too in the Ombre Red Gown and the Meghan Asymetrical Dress, I do quite like the latter as an alternative choice, the little cutout loop is pretty with gold detail and I really like the draping of the material and the way it sits on the body, so I'd definitely count it as a top piece in this release^ There are 3 other dresses included in the release too for those who would rather a mini choice over the gowns and I really think each piece holds its' own in the collection - firstly the bright red Bodycon Dress with a unique halter style and a cool texture, then the Cobra Cocktail Dress in black with an awesome and very couture styled neckline, and lastly the Lace Cocktail Dress with a snake design and a pretty feathered skirt, although this piece seems somewhat familiar, am I remembering something similar from a recent-ish release?! Aside from dresses there are just a few other pieces included in the store. First I'll mention the kinda fabulous suit pairing, the Serpentine Tuxedo Jacket and Pants which have a great fit on the doll (like really great) and a pretty different print to choose, I think the red colouring really helps sell this one^ And then there's also a skirt, which I think might be the favourite of the collection from what I've seen from others, the Pleated Black Midi Skirt which is versatile and perfectly on trend at the moment, it doesn't need much else to deserve a thumbs up =D
Prices This collection is priced from 7 to 45SD's with a couple of pieces as SS or Royalty only and a few SC pieces available too. I think these prices are pretty much spot on - we have to remember it's a 'couture' collection, naturally the prices will be slightly higher and I think they fit the items themselves, so no complaints from me there!
Styled Outfits Just a couple of styled outfits now, so far my purchases have been minimal as there are pieces I want to think about more and see styled by others before I commit to them, but I did purchase my immediate loves in this release! So on the left is the Pleated Black Midi Skirt, something I couldn't pass up! I styled it in a 'typical me' look of all black and used this awesome leather jacket, and used the gold edging to choose a belt and heels, yep, all classic me! Then on the left are the Emerald Booties, and I didn't intend to do two all black styles but it just sort of happened that way - I adore these culottes with the boots, it's a style I'm enjoying trying out and working into different looks. Also added some different texture in with the leather shirt. This is definitely one of my current favourite looks =D
Features I found quite a few looks this weekend with people giving these items a first go! This first feature is lacky_girl.. (who always does well with new releases immediately!) with two pieces, the Pleated Black Midi Skirt and the Emerald Booties in this colourful style. I think the boots and the striped coloured jacket are such a cute match together, and everything works around the pairing well, including the skirt - boots and skirts definitely catch my eye =D
Secondly is marta-43 choosing a bolder piece, the Serpentine Tuxedo Jacket. Definitely a twist to the look not making the print the only one in the style, but those striped trousers are a fantastic match for the jacket. The glam of the bag and the top really shine through too which help the look stand out well!
Lastly we have natusia_182 wearing the Cobra Cocktail Dress in somewhat of a casual style, I really like this different look for the piece! It's a surprise to see the dress work well with jeans but it really impresses me! The rest of the look is pretty classic with black and silver accessories ticking all the right boxes =D

Tingeling Halloween Couture Styled Outfits

Happy halloween! Today's post is my Styled Outfits from the recent Tingeling Halloween Couture release - I bought a few pieces and will no doubt buy more, but here's what I've put together so far:
Firstly the awesome Deep Velvet Trousers, and I think I kinda went towards a pink/purple theme a little because I wear too much black and white! I do feel like I could have done better with these looks, but I do quite like the first floral blazer with the trousers and the shape it gives to the doll, I also like the white faux fur as quite a contrast to them. The trousers are pretty similar to a free pair that I got some time ago though, and I've worn them a lot so can tell these will get wear and will be fairly versatile.
And secondly the Faux Fox Vest - and I love these looks! Now I featured this in a grey based look in my review post, so I've kinda gone either side with black and white, and the vest suits both very well! The white look is much more summer styled, but I love the vest with these PPQ Wide White Trousers. I also love it in my more winter based second look, the pairing of the knit seems like a great idea but I kept it fashionable with Dior - I just really love this look^

So now that there's been time to mull the store over, what are you guys' thoughts and opinions? And on my looks, which do you like best? Let me know in comments!

T I N G E L I N G H A L L O W E E N C O U T U R E | Release Review

To celebrate the upcoming halloween this weekend, Stardoll released us a brand new Tingeling Halloween Couture collection! I love these special releases,  I don't think we got one last year and in 2013 it was just a re-release, so this brand new drop is fab! I think the homepage ad gives the store super high expectations as it really does look great =D
So we got two whole floors packed with some rather beautiful gowns and pieces - Stardoll truly went all out with the graphics and designs, because these pieces are amazing and what a lot of us live for on the site! I mean just look at the Halloween Couture Gown or the Wild Ruffled Skirt, as a graphic designer too I know a lot of time and effort went into those detailed items. However the more simple pieces are also stunning, overall I'd say this is just an amazing achievement of a collection!
We had the usual one outfit for guys, but it is couture, and there really aren't couture lines for men, so this is very understandable - the Gothic Floral Tee though would definitely work for girls too with the right styling.
The store has mostly gowns, with a total of 8 to choose from and they're pretty varied as well with a few lighter brighter ones mixed in with those dark, theme appropriate, dresses! If I'm going to pick a favourite for you guys I'd definitely say the Blood Red Velvet Gown, it's a beautiful design and colour and I think it really would suit everyone^ In terms of the other pieces they really do focus on tops to go with the absolutely perfect Deep Velvet Trousers, which are great fitting and super versatile, definitely a highlight of the store. They really do go with everything, and they clearly work with all the tops on offer - I particularly like the Gothic Couture Blouse and can see some great combinations featuring it. And in terms of outerwear, that Faux Fox Vest does look like a fun fashionable piece to style!
The accessories of this collection are truly beautiful, so much detailing has gone into them and I think they really do look perfect to finish off a couture look, I think the bags are my favourite pieces, all three of the ones I've featured above a great, you can never have too many clutches and the burgundy Bejewelled Velvet Clutch is a great shade for the season. The Romantic Ballerina Clutch is such a delicate and pretty piece, totally not on the halloween theme, but I'm so glad it was included! In the spoilers I did really like the 4th bag, the Leather Skull Purse, but when I tried it on it was just a bit large for me really and I didn't feel like it would fit nicely with looks how I would want it unfortunately.
Onto prices - they range from 7 to 36 SD's, with just one item over the 30SD mark. The accessories are all under 14SD's, which is great. There are a couple of SC accessories, but they weren't pieces I found myself lusting after, although it was a good inclusion and their prices are good. Overall the store is prices really well for the style and design of the items, I'm thrilled with the prices really as I think a lot of people, including myself, would have paid more for some of these items!
You'll be able to check out my styled outfits on Saturday (halloween itself, I'm not one to dress up or party, so they won't be crazy!), but for now some features - I saw so many people styling items, and some have slipped the items seamlessly into totally different looks, it's great =D
Eyes.. has styled the Couture Tulle Gown and gone for a masked ball style with the inclusion of the mask and headpiece - those Voile Holiday Boutique shoes are the perfect addition to the look!
Pervuhina has made some creative changes to the Gothic Couture Gown, really helping make it a much more wearable piece! It looks great with the glittered additions and totally sells me the dress^ This dress also is very familiar to the Drastic Cutout Dress from MSW 15, which is currently on sale!
Miloshki gains another to her pile of features with this fabulous rock look featuring the male Gothic Floral Tee - it's a perfect match with pink and some leather, also with that hair, total perfection from this outfit =)
Finally Fashion.By, another regular, styling the Faux Fox Vest in such an awesome way! It works very well with the grey tones and the white really pops. Also loving those shoes, they're both a good match to the whole look and style as well as the Vest itself, great work!

Halloween Re-Release

Today Stardoll gave us another re-release, this time of the Tingeling Halloween Couture store that we saw a few years back:
I feel this move will definitely bring a mixed bag of emotions - those of us older members have already had these items, we might have even paid very large amounts for them as I know some pieces were quite highly sought after. But it is good for newer members who missed out on these items the first time around.
However they don't come lightly, all the items have a pretty hefty price tag on them, ranging from 12SD's for shoes to 65SD's for a dress, however most of the clothing pieces lie around the 30SD mark, which can be a large price to some.
I was around for these the first time, and bought a few pieces then, although I think I sold them all at some point or another, so I happily snapped up a whole bunch of items, including those here:
I got a couple of things I've been looking for for a while, being those two skirts above, but also got some riskier items to take some fashion chances with! I've been trying to add a few more daring pieces to my Stardoll wardrobe, trying to make myself look a lot more versatile while keeping to my usual style as much as I can. I spent rather a high amount for not so many items, but in all honesty I don't mind so much!

I would have a couple of styled outfits for you, but I am literally snowed under journal articles right now, like literally, I have the longest print queue in the world and the largest bundle of paper on my desk. Next to it are my last two sets of lecture notes that need written up. Kill me now!

Hope you're all having a good day!

Love K xxx

[P.S. Have you guys seen that new Hunger Games video that was released yesterday? I watched it like 50 times, I cannot wait at all, 5 weeks tomorrow ... here's the song to keep you going, a lot of people have said they really dislike it, but I totally disagree!]
