G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled Outfits

The Holiday Gift-O-Meter is here - spend up to 300SD in the Plaza and pick up some festive gifts along the way! With the release of Antidote this past weekend, my meter filled quickly and a lot of items landed in my Suite to style. I have to say I'm quite impressed with the pieces this year, sometimes there's been too much decor for me in the past, but this year there are plenty of clothes and accessories to work with:
First up are the Coral Earrings (80SD spend) and Tartan Trousers (120SD spend), and with a red tartan it has to be all out festive! This sweater was a great fit to really let the trousers be the red focus in the look and I balanced with additions in black plus a sweet red bag which I think works pretty well. These trousers have a really nice fit on the doll and I think will be brought out every Christmas season! Next the Coral Stone Necklace (80SD spend), Santa Baby Sweater (50SD spend) and Red Bow Purse (50SD spend), with the bow details on the sleeves, pairing the sweater and bag together had to be done, the necklace adds a little glam to the pairing. I did try out some red trousers and skirts, but nothing was quite right so I think I need another go at this one because I think this sweater has some up-styling potential! Did get all the red accessories in, these shoes are fabulous with the look I think^ Then we have the Green Snake Purse (80SD spend) and Dior Loafers (120SD spend) paired together for their gold detailing. They were a tricky accessory combination to style, I found a lot of pieces that looked great with one but not the other, in the end I think these green trousers are a pretty solid choice. Kept with gold for the accessories, love this belt and these glasses in the look and kept it a little dressy with this wide necklined top.
Next are the Cheetah Glitter Pants (50SD spend) which are such a fun piece, these will be great year-round for sure. I did try and add some more cheetah print to them but nothing was quite looking right, so they became the focus in a neutral styling but I do think this Fendi print on the bag is a pretty good fit^ The gold tone in these trousers is great for adding accessories and I think there's a lot of great options for these, definitely versatile-piece of this collection! And lastly, and the look that took longest to decide upon, the Diamond Layered Necklace (220SD spend) and Silver Cat Minidress (180SD spend). Very much like styling the minidress in my last post, I really wanted to make this piece work - just look at those sparkles, they are fabulous! I tried a few sweaters ontop to make the dress into a skirt but nothing worked out, this shirt really became such a genius piece, it's fitted yet has fabulous sleeves, really quite perfect for a fabulous dress! Simple accessories additions to finalise keeping with the white and silver and I really am so pleased with this one, something different for me but making it my own, if that makes any sense =D

G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

Of course this year we also had a Holiday Gift-O-Meter - spend 300SD in the Plaza and get various clothing and decor gifts along the way, and there's still a few more days to fill up the meter and get those final gifts! Time for some features and stylings to inspire about the pieces you can get this year^ First up is Bianca.Vos who wears firstly the Encrusted Jacket (180SD spend) in this party-ready outfit. I think the piece looks great and the sparkling maxi skirt length is very complementary to it, the two are just right together. The accessories are also great, I love this layered silver sparkling choker, it's fab in the neckline of the jacket! The next look uses the Black Denims (120SD spend) which I think look amazing, this look alone makes me want to get to that spend point so I can style them too! I love the mixed styles in this look, the jeans look great with this smart white blouse, but it's layered super creatively with the black top underneath and the belting around the chest. The loose belts around the waist also suit the two-waisted jean style really well too^
Here is serhanservet670 also wearing the Encrusted Jacket (180SD spend) and highlighting a different style for this piece. The black really pops well against the neon, for sure a different choice but one that works so well for the glamorous jacket! The ruffled sleeve top balances very nicely with the boots, and I love the mix of textures included in the styling. The mesh skirting is also fab and the accessories are a great final touch, especially the choker, it's fab with the silver details on the jacket =)
Next we have minutiae styling up the Black Dress (180SD spend) - it's a simple look but this complements the detailed and elegant dress design, that cutout pattern is amazing! The dress has some small silver touches and these are played upon in the accessories with both silver earrings and silver embellishments on the bag chosen. I also particularly like the bag and shoe combination with the patent material, this definitely stands out^
Now is liability who wears the Green Leather Jacket (50SD spend) and really catches my eye in doing so. I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about this piece because I'm not such a fan of the length but did like the colour, but this look with it tucked in really changes my mind! The tuck is perfect for the large collar design, and the placement with the belting is just right. The trousers are simple but a great colour-match. The accessories are amazing, I'm here for the layering of the necklaces and I love the overall mix of black and gold, I'm especially pleased to see someone else loving these shoes!
And now onto my own looks. First up, of course I also had to style the very popular Encrusted Jacket - and I can see why it's popular, I put it on and immediately had some styling ideas! I love these sparkling trousers with the piece, and I have many other silver items which will also look good with it. With a black base, it's easy to accessorise. I definitely love this styling with the jacket more than I thought I would before trying it out! Next I paired together the Green Leather Jacket and Chunky Ankle Bracelet - this took a while to come together as I was quite determined to style the jacket with green shoes, but this bag worked so much better so I changed track and went for a black and green styling, I think it works nicely^ The gold of the bag inspired the addition of other gold in the look, including the anklet. And the final piece, the Black Denim, which I didn't think I would like but actually did really enjoy styling. They're such a casual piece in comparison to the other items from the GOM so it leaves the styling open for plenty of options. I stuck with a casual vibe and chose some trainers and simple colours to add, the white of the top and shoes frames the jeans nicely.

G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled Outfits

A tradition for the Winter-season - it's a Holiday Gift-O-Meter! For me I was a little disappointed this year, I like clothing G-O-M's and this one had too many decor pieces, and it was pricey, reaching some of the larger spend-points and you would get one decor piece. So not the best, and really I only managed to fill it with the more special releases and the start of the Tribute season. Anyway, I have all of the pieces on offer and there's still time for you to finish filling the meter if you want to - onto the looks:
First up the GOM Red Oversized Sweater (120SD spend), which I think might be my favourite piece from this Gift-O-Meter, or certainly the one I found easiest to style. The bold red is great and paired perfectly with these shoes. I liked keeping that the only red in the look as it really makes it stand out. I decided on white for the rest of the pieces, which makes the red pop even more. Love the smart pleats of this pair of trousers and picked some simple accessories to complete the look. Next up are the GOM Belt Boots (180SD spend) which I liked as something different for me so I wanted to make sure I tried them out. I thought this dress was a good fit for the boots, they have a similar vibe to them. I've worked it into a Winter-ready look with the tights and a polo-neck which I really like for the styling. Accessories are silver based to pair with the boots, I really love this bag with them in particular^ And the final piece, the GOM Lace Top (270SD spend), which I found quite difficult to style. The white lace is super pretty, but has a yellow tone based on my dolls skin tone, so I found that a completely white look didn't work well. So that left me with red, while I really like this skirt in the look, I didn't have a lot of choice that looked good. The white tights and shoes are a nice touch to make the skirt wearable in the Winter. I really like layering up this jacket and the furry stole, I think they're very nice together and work well with the look. I'm not sure this is a top I will keep or style again, but I'm glad to have tried it out this once.

G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

We got a Holiday Gift-O-Meter! We've had these before for the winter season and it's a great way to get some new fun pieces - and it's pretty good that it's out over Tribute season as that's generally when a lot of SD's are spent, so I found that my meter filled up pretty quickly after getting both Fendi and Prada in the Plaza! Now you have a day left to fill the meter with your Plaza spends, so today I'm featuring some looks with the pieces, and styling up some looks of my own with some of these pieces. There were just under 10 clothing/wearable pieces in this meter, and it's clear there was a favourite, the Corduroy Cotton Trousers! These red cords are fabulous as styled firstly here by Heneda, they really stand out with the white polo base, and the tee is a perfect with the slogan in a red bar which works well with the trousers. I like the white belt bag standing out and the cool use of the yellow furry bag too^
Also wearing the Corduroy Cotton Trousers is Marta32222, choosing a darker base for the look in comparison to the previous styling, and it works equally well for this piece. The cardi is a perfetc fit with the red trim and patterning, and the black shirt is a smart touch to the styling. The black boots look great with the trousers, and the jewelled clutch paired in the look is totally something up my street =)
And then a look with the Check Crystal Slippers, which are a cute pair of festive sliders with a cross-over strap detail, styled by GirlEwelina.  I love the shoes with the fishnets, it makes use of tights but they're not too thick or distracting from the shoes. The dress is a cute and seasonal combination, I like the polo style with the tulle overlay on the dress. The red trimming is super cute and a great fit to style up with the shoes =)
And then my stylings! I've filled my meter up completely, so have the choice of everything. First up the Alexander McQueen Inspired Sandals, achieved after spending 80SD's, and I think they are super cute with the big bow detail on the ankle. That detail really wants to be shown off so I paired them with these cropped trousers to really highlight it, the red top is a colour match and has a detail that also pairs well with the shoes. Secondly is the Glassy Orchid One Shoulder Dress, achieved for spending 300SD's, which is super pretty, stylish and very much a perfect party piece. I styled it very minimally as it has a lot of cool detail itself, like the one shoulder, gathered cut-out side, and blouson style sleeve. The shoes and earrings a fitting touches in silver^ And finally the Corduroy Cotton Trousers, achieved for spending 220SD's, and these are definitely a firm favourite from this meter. Compared with the looks above featuring these trousers, I've gone super light with my styling and I think they look good with this too. The fluffy coat makes this a good winter styling and the boots balance the look, the red velvet clutch is definitely a great accessory for these trousers!

G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled Outfits

So we've been enjoying the StarPlaza Holiday Gift-O-Meter since before Christmas, and there's just a couple of days left to make your purchases count towards earning these gifts! I sure filled mine up quickly with the new LE and all the Tributes we've had, and I'm sure it was the same for some of you guys =D I really like most of the pieces and generally quite a few Gift-O-Meter pieces last quite well in my wardrobe so I think these will be good additions, except maybe the reindeer onesie, I think I can pass on that! So I've styled up 4 of the pieces in looks perfect for right now!

P A R T Y D R E S S I N G
1 Star Rock Heels           2 GOM Off White Inspired Silk Dress
The socks+heels trend is one I still haven't gotten behind, for me it's just not something I want to wear, but that doesn't mean that I don't think it looks bad, I think it can be great with the right combination^ These Star Rock Heels combine the two for me, and I was glad to give them a go. On my doll I went all out with the silver and I think it's a look that works! The heels match so well with these jeans and jacket, that I couldn't resist this over the top combination. The second look uses this new LE dress, and I think it looks alright and a little different for me, but pair nicely with this fringed bag^ Then the GOM Off White Inspired Silk Dress which I styled up but in a winter way with the coat, I like the cream colour against the pink, and I loved accessorising with these rose gold glittery pieces, they're great to make the look stand out =)

C A S U A L D R E S S I N G
1 Saint Laurent Inspired Acid Denim           2 Check My Dress
And taking a more relaxed styling approach with these next pieces from the Gift-O-Meter. I think absolutely everyone has styled the Saint Laurent Inspired Acid Denim and so coming up with something super unique is difficult when I feel like I've seen them styled with everything! But I'm pleased with this look, I like the faded black of this overcoat, it's an interesting piece that I wish I hadn't forgotten about in my wardrobe^ The grey of the sweater adds to that, and I kept it a little dark with the boots and belt. I like this vibe for these jeans and I think once the fad of them dies down in a few months I'll work out some more stylings for them =) I had so much fun working with the Check My Dress, I love it! It's great as a skirt, and I love it with other prints like this blazer, and it's super easy to pair with accessories, especially when you love black boots like I do^ I like the fur stole over the shoulder too, and in the second look I went a little more simple with just a black fur for this one with some white accessories for a more plain look. I love the length of this dress and wth the current print I think it will have a lasting popularity!

G I F T - O - M E T E R | Feature Set

A little bumper of a 'Feature' this afternoon - a set of looks wearing pieces from the Holiday Gift-O-Meter in preparation for tonight's post of my own stylings from the gifts^ There's still time to add to the meter to gain any of these gifts if you're feeling inspired by these features!
First up is jessiedaz wearing the Saint Laurent Inspired Acid Denim, which are the second prize (30SD price point). This look is street style based, with the darker tones of the jeans drawn out by the vest and the super high platform boots. I love the bright pop of the jacket, and I love the styling of it held behind the forearms and behind the waist =)
Next up is something a little more dressed up, Roqerio wearing the Gucci Inspired Cream Skirt - this is the 4th gift in the meter (80SD price point). The skirt stood out to me in the look from the gold Gucci logo on the belt standing out between the lapels of the blazer. The colour contrast between them is great too, and the shirt is a smart fitting choice. I quite like the style difference of the fishnet tights in the look as well, but love the matching of the shimmering booties^
And lastly is Andre1396 wearing the GOM Off White Inspired Silk Dress, which is the 7th gift in the meter (180SD price point). This is such a minimal piece but with a great design, I love the tying of the waist and the draping of the material into a knotted belt. The dress is a great pink colour, but it is a sheer piece, so strategic layering works well here, and I like the collar at the top, it goes nicely against the socks and makes the look pretty sweet^ Also loving the use of the retro clutch bag and also the red earring, it completely catches my eye!

C H R I S T M A S G I F T - O - M E T E R | Styled Outfits

Merry christmas guys!!! Today I thought it would be very appropriate to style the pieces from our special Christmas Gift-O-Meter, it's been out for a while already, and you still have plenty of time left to make your purchases from the Plaza count towards the items^ With the new Tributes and special releases like Antidote and YH, I found it was quite easy to fill up the meter to 300SD's in a reasonably quick time. I do have all of the items but I've picked out 6 to style into looks, and I have to say, I'm super happy with the outcome =D
First up a whole lot of patterns, and not necessarily from the Gift-O-Meter pieces! First up the burgundy Loose Velvet Top paired with these almost-perfectly matching printed trousers. I quite like contrast between the dark browny green colour against the red, I think it works and I'm glad I added the silver bag because I definitely think the dark look needs something a little shiney^ Next up the Camo Faux Coat, which I didn't really think would work for me, but I was surprised once I'd put this look together that I quite like it! It's perfect with these similar tones and I love the style contrast between the silky slinky dress and the casual-ness of the coat. Totally works out, and is definitely something I'd wear again. Lastly in the above picture are the Plexi Nude Heels, a style I think is pretty popular right now, so I quite like that these were free and it's a style we can all try out. For me I found it tricky to make sure they were the piece in the look that stood out, especially being transparent, but I think the trousers definitely help bring attention to the lower half of the outfit. An easy combination I think, but overall pretty effective I think =D
And then 3 more minimal stylings, and unintentionally they are quite focussed on black pieces, not that I mind, but some of you might find it a little repetitive^ Firstly the Love More Tshirt Dress, and I'm really still on the fence about this one. I'm not sure if it's the style and shape or the colour of it which puts me off a little, but I quite like it in this layered styling with the polo beneath and the furry vest ontop, I think it works, but I've definitely seen better stylings in some of your suites^ Secondly the Satin Off Shoulder Mini Dress, and this one I do love the shape, but I went a little different and chose to pair it with these sheer striped trousers instead of tights, and it's a combination I'm quite enjoying! I accessorised with gold, it's a good look for this bag, and the heels fit nicely. And lastly the Fade Out Black Denims, which are in a very popular design and I've seen so many people wearing these already. It definitely gives a chance to wear the style to those of us who missed the LE pairs. I like the faded black colour, it's definitely interesting to play around with for stylings and I'm really happy with this look, love the overcoat and choosing silver for the trainers and the top (another Gift-O-Meter item from a while back).
It's definitely hard for me to choose a favourite from these looks and between these pieces, I think this year we got a great offering here^

Let me know what you guys think of these looks and the Gift-O-Meter itself, and I hope everyone has had and is having a great Christmas =D
