2017 / / T R I B U T E S R E V I S I T E D

W I N T E R 2 0 1 7
It's been a little while since I've done a Tributes Revisited - here we are taking a look back to the Winter 2017 season! This season had 6 releases and I have to say that it was a super strong season - these were Saint Laurent, Versace, Dior, Fendi, Tributes Gallery and Off-White. Many of the pieces from these collections are ones that I find myself still reaching for regularly and ones that I see many others still styling too. The vibes of these releases are definitely ones I'm wanting back in the Plaza!

S A I N T L A U R E N T
This Saint Laurent release was such a stunning and memorable one, and there are some super fun pieces that I think are still popular all these years after the release. For me the mix of black and white pieces is fabulous, and they're great classic staples that will work well in a number of ways - I found it super fun styling some of these up again^ The Gold Speckled Blouse has always been a piece that I want to love wearing but I've struggled with it over the years, so I'm super pleased to have styled it here in a way that I really love for it, I'm really feeling inspired to style it again already. The Fuschia Puff Silk Puff Blouse is one that really pops in the store and I think I'm on the lookout for in the Bazaar =D *PS these pieces are available in the Archive store currently*

D I O R
I'm a huge huge huge fan of Dior, so of course I loved this release and bought so many pieces from it! I just find the release such a classic and memorable one with some of my absolute favourite pieces in it - the Dior Inspired Front Pleat Pants, the Dior Inspired Acetate Aviators and the Dior Inspired Tuxedo Blouse to be exact. I see many of the pieces from this release still styled regularly and the styles really are still very current. I love the RL collection that this release is based on, and would still happily accept more pieces from this collection in the Plaza today - I still have so many ideas for it =)
And we also have a feature to include - Jesica_1998 recently styled up the Dior Inspired Tuille Skirt in this very cool and current rock-chick street styling. The skirt layers beautifully and with the choices in this outfit, the print on the tulle really stands out nicely. The pop of yellow against the black is fab, and I love the texture contrast between the skirt and the harsher leather of the boots and jacket - I really love this look^

F E N D I
The Fendi release this season was also a memorable one, although screams Spring/Summer to me rather than Autumn/Winter! I really love the colours of this one, the earthy greens and browns look great along with the light fabrics throughout. I really enjoyed revisiting these pieces to style as I had a completely refreshed perspective on them - the ones I picked were easy to work with and really make me excited to style up the rest of the pieces I have from this release. These are pieces I definitely see styled less than the Saint Laurent or the Dior, but I really hope they can have a bit of a comeback^

I N S P I R E D B Y S A I N T L A U R E N T | Tribute Review

Tribute number 5 and sadly it's the last of the season - this one is also bringing back classic tribute vibes, it's SAINT LAURENT! I was excited to see that that was the brand for this release as it was among the original lot of tributes to be released and pieces from the YSL/Saint Laurent stores have been some of the most lasting in my wardrobe, let's see if this collection fits with that:
For me, this release is actually a bit disappointing - it's a mix of collections without focus particularly from the absolute latest Saint Laurent releases, and there are some pieces which are almost identical to Saint Laurent items we've had in the past (I'm looking at the Kate Tassel Bag and the Zipper Tube Dress in particular which are close to items from the Winter 2015 Tribute release, a number of other pieces are also similar) - so this is ending the Tribute season on a bit of a low note. There are still some nice pieces here, so I will still discuss the collection, but this review will be on the briefer side of things. Accessories-wise first, I'm not particularly a fan of any of the shoes, nothing really stands out to me but I am quite intrigued to see a few different stylings of the Studded Long Boots as I do think they could look good in the right outfit. The bags were also a little 'meh' and to me they don't really fit well with the clothes selected, I would have liked ones that worked with the looks. I do like the Kate Tassel Bag, but I already have the almost-identical original one so I don't feel the need to get another one, but the colour is great on this one so I would recommend it. There are some very nice jewellery pieces in this release, and I'm glad there are some choices. The Glass Pendant Clip-On Earrings look like a fun piece, I love the vibrant colours and I think these will be great for bright Summer stylings. The Triangle Earrings also look amazing, these have such an intricate design and will look amazing with a striking make-up look to match^ There are also quite a few necklaces to choose from, the two that stood out to me were the The Flower Power Necklace which has a lovely modern and unique design, I haven't seen anything like this in the Plaza for a long time so it really stands out, and also the Heart Chain Necklace which is super pretty and we all know I have a thing for gold jewellery!
Onto the clothing, and to be honest, not a lot stood out. Two of the jackets/coats were absolute winners for me though, and those were the Striped Coat and the White Jacket - these look fantastic, wearable and versatile and I'm really excited to style them both. They're for sure contrasting in style, with the Striped Coat perhaps more Autumn/Winter directed and the White Jacket more for Spring/Summer looks but I think these are pieces that help save this release. I'm also a little tempted by the White Pants With Chain, these look like a crisp pair of trousers, I like the length and the rolled hem, but I'm just a little unsure about getting them to sit nicely on my doll when resized as I don't so much like the low slung waistline.

F E A T U R E S
First in the features is Bianca.Vos styling the Yellow Flowy Dress. This is a piece that didn't really stand out to me in the store, but I think it looks great in this styling! It's got period drama vibes but this look adds to it bringing it into the current times. I think the blue additions to this piece are perfection, they're so complementary to the dress, I even thought the belt was part of the dress at first^ The pearl accessories are also fab, they're the perfect selection.
And then we have harpie wearing the White Jacket in this fabulous power-boss outfit, I love it! This is such a versatile piece in terms of style and the neutral white colour so you can really take it in any direction, these trousers with the smart white shirt are a great option^ I love the jewelled accessories added to this one, they really pop out and the colours are great, those earrings match the trousers exactly and the bag fits in nicely as well =)

S T Y L I N G S
Now for my own stylings! First up is the Striped Coat paired with the The Flower Power Necklace (which I was very kindly given by a friend^) - this coat is a winner from this collection, I think it's got a great mix of things I like in other coats I have, what makes it stand out are the stripes and I think those will make for an interesting addition to many stylings. I kept the trousers simple so the stripes would stand out, but also made it a special look with the addition of all the silver - the top and the necklace pair together so nicely, I'll definitely wear them together again. And I love these detailed silver earrings, just the perfect final touch for the look! Next is the White Jacket, another winning piece from this release. I was however at a bit of a loss how to style it, because I love it with these boots but didn't know what clothing to add to work with the pairing, so I opted for nothing and just accessories! I do think this bag is a great choice, the colour is a perfect fit with the boots and I think the style works well with the jacket too =) And the final piece I've styled is the Heart Chain Necklace which I was really excited to get to, and I really love this outfit! I stuck simple with the clothing but loved the little details that this sweater offers, the gold in it make it a perfect choice for the necklace, and of course for other accessories like this bag. The heart shape of the bag just worked out so nicely for this heart jewellery =D

S A I N T L A U R E N T A R C H I V E | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

In quick succession to the last Archive release, we have another - this time bringing us back pieces from the Saint Laurent Tribute Summer 2017 and Winter 2017 releases. This is a nice mix, I do prefer having one brand released at a time into one Archive release like this over having several mixed together like the last one, but that is just my personal preference. These were both collections I liked and there are some great pieces in this re-release that have lasted in my wardrobe and I style a lot - so there's some good investments to be made with this one! But first up, the features - this look is from Brevis who styles up the Heart Shaped Victorian Body in such a beautiful way, this styling is stunning, I can't get over it! The body is layered beneath a pretty lace white dress, the two are a perfect fit with all of those lace details, it looks like they were made for each other. The open neck and sleeveless-ness of the dress is perfect to highlight the beautiful details of the body. And it's been accessorised to perfection, simple yet stunning earrings, intricate shoes and such a cute bag styling to make this DIOR piece on a chain; I love it all so much =D
And our second feature is from HeraKowall who wears the Crystals Blouse in such a fun and eye-catching way! This was a piece I hadn't really thought about buying/styling before, but this look is kind of convincing me to try it out, it could be super fun. The navy is such a great pairing with the bold pink, the sparkles hold their own well against this suit, the suit and shirt being a classic winning combination, the colour making it super modern^ The yellow touches are also super fun and completely my thing, I love it =)
Now for my own looks! I have quite a few of these pieces already and love using them - for example the Oversized Coat and the Heart Silhouette Clutch, both of which I high recommend, so this time I'm styling up some of the other pieces. First up is the Lace Victorian Puff Blouse which is the only new piece I've added to my wardrobe from this release, this is such a delicate sweet piece and I'm excited to use it more. I decided to try out contrasting textures, the intricate lace of the blouse with these leather trousers and I think it's a nice pairing, I didn't tuck the top because the trim is super cute. The rest of the look is super simple, the white accessories are perfect to make sure it's the top highlighted rather than the trousers and it works nicely. Next up are both the Tuxedo Shoulder Bag and the Black Classic Belted Pants - these trousers have a silver belt buckle attached, which is one of the reasons I really don't wear them often because I prefer gold, but on this occasion I found the perfect top to hide that, actually this top is a great style fit for the trousers, I must remember that! Anyway, the top has a tiny gold detail at the neck so it makes for a nice addition to the gold in the accessories - I love this bag a lot, and for sure need to use it more often as I think it's reasonably versatile as well. The final styling uses the Saint Laurent Inspired Body, which I rarely use because it always gets a little forgotten stored as a jumpsuit and that's a category I don't style often - but it makes for a great top! Of course it calls for silver accents, these pieces were easy to pick out and I particularly love these shoes with the look, the style is perfect and the length of the trousers is just right to show off all of the design elements. For sure a classic look that I will repeat^

2017 / / T R I B U T E S R E V I S I T E D

And here we are, starting off this years Tributes Revisited season! It will be a little shorter as I revisited 2010 to 2016 last year so there are just 2 years to look at, but maybe I will come up with something to do with all of the previous Summer Tribute releases later in the season =) This year we had 6 store releases with some great brands, Fendi, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Tributes Gallery Shoes, Tributes Gallery Bags, and Marc Jacobs. It was the first year of the 'Tributes Gallery' which I really love as it means we get a little something from a range of designers or brands. Overall, this was a pretty decent year for Tributes!

F E N D I
I definitely think I had forgotten a little about how good this collection was - I have several pieces still in my wardrobe and they're ones I really loved for the few months following the release, like the Silk Culottes which seriously need a comeback in my stylings! This release was a great one for Autumnal vibes with the darker tones, the burgundy, the checks and the faux fur - really a lot to choose from in one collection. And of course, the Fendi Inspired Thigh High Boots were a firm winner from this collection^ We've seen a few of these pieces re-released into CP, but a lot of them are reasonably easy to find in the Bazaar, I'm definitely tempted to try out the dresses again =)

G U C C I
I really do have a soft spot for Gucci^ While overall this collection didn't offer me a huge amount, those few pieces that work really are fabulous! The rainbow pieces really make this collection stand out, but they're not the most wearable pieces for sure, but there is a guys option in addition to the girls, which is a plus. Looking back I wish I'd appreciated the accessories as a whole back then, because I've since purchased quite a few pieces in the Bazaar, like the Gucci Inspired Crystal Glasses (yes, I passed up sunglasses back then - no chance of that happening now!) and the Satin Dragon Boots, these pieces are fabulous and deserve more attention! Overall I think a lot of people have forgotten about this one as I haven't seen many of these pieces styled in a while - show me your looks^
And a feature, from our Guest Writer cinderela23barb - who might not recognise the look because I snapped the features for the 2017 Tributes last year when I was putting together the other Tributes Revisited posts! I love this cool styling of the Gucci Inspired Embroidered Gown - the dress speaks for the clothes and the accessories are perfect finishing touches. Love the beret and the black bag to balance the velvet shoulder design, while the red shoes and the fabulous jewelled earrings really play on the colours - I love it!

S A I N T L A U R E N T

Saint Laurent is pretty much a classic Tribute release, we've had quite a few from this brand, and this is one that I definitely return to a lot! All the black pieces are such classics, it's an easy colour to wear and I think we all agree that the Oversized Coat is one of the most worn of its kind in my wardrobe^ There are so many details throughout this store, from pleats and folds, to sequins, to intricate lace, the pieces are so well designed! When the store came out I wasn't a fan of the boots, however a while afterwards I completely changed my mind and hunted them down in the Bazaar and I have no regrets, I wear these quite a lot - they're even featured in the Gucci looks above!

T R I B U T E S G A L L E R Y

And the final release, or I should say releases, to focus on from this 2017 season, Tributes Gallery! This was a brand new store for the Tribute releases, and came with two releases one for shoes and one for bags, I love this idea and totally hope for more of it! These have been hugely successful releases, I still have many items from them and wear some of them all the time - hello Aquazzura Inspired Dreamy Velvet Boots! I do think sometimes they get a little forgotten as Tributes, but for me, totally perfect and I remember^ The stores had a great range of styles, designs and colours to choose from - a little something for everyone for sure =)

2014 / / T R I B U T E S R E V I S I T E D

S U M M E R 2 0 1 4
This was a pretty small summer of Tributes with just 4 on offer - Saint Laurent, Versace, Fendi and Dior Couture. But it sure was memorable and it contains 2 of my favourite and most used collections of all of the Tributes which I'm sure some of you will be able to guess^ So despite being small in number, the pieces were pretty great and maybe you guys will see some things you like too from these releases - I kinda can't believe they are 4 years old!

S A I N T L A U R E N T
Back in the day, the clothes in this Saint Laurent release weren't really for me, and while they're not all still an awesome fit for my style, I do think I like them a lot more now than I did then! The fun prints and shapes certainly have a place in stylings today and I think others will like a refresh of these too. I've always had a thing for these accessories though, the shoes in particular have been pretty good to me over the years especially when needing something in yellow =D

F E N D I
Fendi was a real gem in this Tribute season, with a full accessories release with shoes and bags and jewellery and extras! Looking back at my review, I found I spent a fortune on this collection, but it was probably for the best because these are some of the pieces that I get great wear out of - in fact you're probably all fed up of seeing these belts being styled! But these shoes have been fantastic with a great range of colours and super cool styles. The store presentation was also memorable for me, the golden light is still eye catching and I think this is definitely among the top Tribute releases ever!

D I O R C O U T U R E
And the final release, another huge favourite, Dior Couture! So much beauty in this collection, it really was stunning to have in the Plaza. Luckily you can search for these pieces in the Bazaar and there have been some items released in Callie's Picks if you missed them^ The colours are beautiful in this collection, it's a great representation of this Dior runway collection. The pinks, whites and blacks fit together well and the pops of bold tones and different colours work very nicely. Everything fits together well, and I'd say that this one too is among the top Tribute releases on the site =)

2011 / / T R I B U T E S R E V I S I T E D

S U M M E R 2 0 1 1
And now our second summer of Tributes, back 7 years ago to 2011 - this was a time before the Winter/Holiday Tributes so this was only our second batch and following the success of the first year I so think Stardoll were onto a winner with the so-called 'TRIBUTE SEASON'! In this year there were 6 releases: Yves Saint Laurent, Versus Versace, Alice+Olivia, Lanvin, Moschino and Givenchy. This gave a great range of styles and types of pieces to choose from, and I do think it covered the 'something for everyone' mantra - just not at the lowest of prices although likely cheaper compared to today's prices. Of course now, I regret not buying more pieces at the time, but isn't that always the case?! Luckily many of these pieces have been released again through Callie's Picks and we have the Bazaar to pick up pieces as well.

Y V E S S A I N T L A U R E N T
This was the first release of the year, and one of my favourites - I remember at the time feeling so overwhelmed by choice as I wanted so many pieces but didn't have the funds for that! I did buy quite a bit and have since bought others through the Bazaar. The theme is pretty classic, the cuts and design of the pieces are all quite smart - there's collars, blazers, longer skirts, but then again some great current trends like split leg and wrapped pieces. I think it still might be one of my favourite releases! And of course, I really loved the RL runway collection for this one too =D
These pieces are still super popular today, especially with bright colours being pretty on trend - Funopler looks great wearing both the Tangerine Tie Blouse and Sharp Harem Pants paired up with great blues. This outfit stands out, it catches attention immediately, and it looks good =D

V E R S U S V E R S A C E
All about the plaids and prints in this collection which I think is one of the reasons that it's such a memorable one! After this Tribute, a couple of the pieces definitely became hugely wanted among the Stardoll community - namely the blue and yellow Skyscraper Stripe Skirt and the sheer black Lone Ranger Shirt and I do think they still get a reasonable amount of popularity, I for one still love wearing them^ Plaid comes and goes in trend so some of these pieces are handy to have around =)

M O S C H I N O
And lastly the Moschino Tribute, winning the most colourful and fun release from this year^ The prints are funky and the pieces have good shape and design. There are some super lasting items in this release and this is one I'd love to have re-released in the Plaza! There's the perfect mix in this store or prints and minimal patterns so it definitely keeps all sides of my style pleased =) I really love the Runway collection that this one is based on, it's just so fun and puts a smile on my face^

I N S P I R E D B Y S A I N T L A U R E N T | Tribute Review

Holiday Tribute season is here! Not sure how many we'll get in total, but here is our first, Inspired By Saint Laurent, bringing the latest collection which you can tell from the homepage advert which has a classic styling and chic black and white design - it grabs your attention and looks oh so chic!
Highlights So two floors for this store, and including one male look in the line up, overall it's about the regular size for a Tribute. This one is based completely off of the Spring 2018 collection of Saint Laurent, complete with a runway-based interior - I was lucky enough to see the real one when I was in Paris on the day of the show this year! I think it's a pretty good collection overall and I'm excited to work with it on my doll =D
Accessories This release has a really nice range of accessories to choose from - but the first thing I notice is a lack of bags! However when you look at the original collection, there isn't a bag in sight^ There are 3 pairs of shoes, and I think they're very seasonally appropriate and all very stylish, first the Saint Laurent Feather Sandals which really are as the name describes. They're pretty delicate and in a versatile black so easy to wear. I like the detail in the strapping across the foot, it looks elegant. Then two pairs of boots, the Black and Electric Blue Feather Thigh Highs, which do seem quite outrageous and out there, but I think actually could be pretty decent. I'm yet to buy them, and I've only seen one person wear either of these pairs since the release, but I think they could be handy to have in the wardrobe^ And there's a couple of extras to be had as well. The Wide Suede Safari Belt is a pretty nice piece, I like the colours and textures it has, but it doesn't entirely seem to fit with the rest of the collection. Then some jewellery with the Saint Laurent Inspired Diamond Hoops (two individual earrings, you get the second when you buy one^) and the Saint Laurent Inspired Necklace, both great pieces and fitting to the collection. They've got a glamorous style and are minimal on the colour front which makes them pretty easy to work with clothing.
Clothing And the main focus of the release, the clothes! There is a very glamorous vibe to the clothes, partly which comes from the original designs and partly from the pieces chosen for inclusion in this release. I also really like that there is quite a classic feel, with most pieces in black or white, which makes them reasonably easy to wear with other items. I think I will start with dresses - there is quite the focus on the mini length, which all 4 of them are. There are also a range of textures and materials used. Firstly feathers and fur with the Feather Ball Dress, which is very glamorous and stand-out, and very much a party-piece, and the Feathered Shoulder Dress, something much more minimal, with a simple body to the dress and then feathers coming out from the neckline - neither of these pieces are really my style, but I think they could look good on the right individual! The other two dresses have differing textures, the Lace Ballerina Dress is the more feminine piece focusing on a lace top half and a tulle tutu-style skirting. It's the sort of piece I could like if the neckline wasn't quite so plunging and the skirt length was a little longer. And the final dress, the Leather Corset Dress, which the name describes, is in a patent leather, which I like the look of actually, but again the short (very short) length puts me off a little ... it might actually make a really nice top instead of a dress, so that's something to consider if you like the idea of the piece! There's also a jumpsuit available, which is one of the more stand-out pieces in the store because of it's pretty colouring; the Silk Thread Playsuit is a shiny silk with blue base and autumnal-toned printing, plus it comes with a belt. The only thing I dislike would be the short leg length rather than a trouser, but that's completely personal preference.
While speaking about leg length, shorts do feature strongly in the bottomhalf choices of the release with two pairs to choose from - the Suede Mini Shorts and the High Waisted Leather Shorts. I have a strange relationship with shorts, I always think they might be a good idea but never really find they are and never really find myself styling them. So while I like the cute tassel additions on the Suede pair and the lovely shape of the Leather pair, I don't think I'd actually ever style them well enough! However I do really like the Black Classic Belted Pants - these are a minimal piece, which look good and fit the doll really well. And I think they'll be really easy to wear in a lot of different outfits with a lot of different pieces. And to go with those bottomhalves, you need some tops, of which there are 6 to choose from, and in a really good range as well =) Let's start with the two bodies that the store has to offer in contrasting colours, the black Saint Laurent Inspired Body and the white Heart Shaped Victorian Body, which also offer contrasting styles with the first a little harder and tight fitting, and the second feminine and loose with delicate frills and lace. The Lace Victorian Puff Blouse also pairs really nicely with the Heart Shaped Victorian Body with the same sort of style vibe going on with it - for me the Blouse is more wearable, but that's just my way of wearing clothes^ Also sheer and a little puff-sleeved is the Gold Speckled Blouse which I think was the first piece I saw and loved immediately from the store - it just looks so elegant and chic and I love the discrete design with frills and ruffles, just perfect! The final piece I want to mention is another stand-out due to the bold colour, the Fuschia Puff Silk Puff Blouse, a snazzy off-shoulder top with amazing texture and puff-sleeves, it just emanates cool-ness! Far too cool for me as well, I really like it but I don't think I'd be able to do it the justice it deserves!!!
Prices This release ranges from 14 to 37SD's, which I think is pretty good for a Tribute, there's really not a lot at the top end of the range. Plus there's no items which are SS/Royalty only, so everyone can buy every piece =)
Styled Outfits I think I could have felt a little more glamorous when styling such a glamorous Tribute, but nevermind, I think I came up with some good ways to fit these new pieces into my own style =) So first up the Wide Suede Safari Belt which I liked because it looks kinda like one from Fendi last Tribute season, and I didn't buy that and regretted it, so no regret this time! I was envisaging wearing it over some sort of woollen cream coat ... the perfect one doesn't exist in either my own wardrobe or the Plaza, so that idea is long gone (but maybe in the future!) I have settled for this cream sweater with this midi brown skirt, both of the tones really let the belt pop and stand out, so I think it works out well for it! The oversized fur is a good colour match, however I don't think the outfit does anything for my doll's shape! I couldn't find the perfect bag, but I do think I found perfect boots^ The second outfit uses the Gold Speckled Blouse, which is a little more sheer than I first thought - my solution was to use the It Girls Mesh Knitted Neck Top and I'm really pleased with the combination for the blouse. I stayed very minimal with black trousers, the blouse is pretty easy to work with a high-waisted bottomhalf and belt, this is one of many pairings I tried out^ Shoes were again pretty simple - I did attempt to find a bag, but none of the ones which looked good with the colour scheme looked great in terms of shape and vice versa, so no bag with this one! And finally the Saint Laurent Inspired Body with the Saint Laurent Inspired Diamond Hoops - both of these pieces are unusual options for me to choose, but I quite liked them this time round. I kept super minimal as there are enough sparkles in the two pieces for the whole look and chose smart black trousers with pointed heels and a hanging jacket plus classic Chanel bag. This outfit works, my eye is drawn to the Saint Laurent pieces immediately so it does the job nicely =D
Features And now so many features for you guys to check out - I found so many good ones, it seems this collection is a fan favourite =D First up is andre1396 wearing the Leather Corset Dress - and wearing it very well as a dress! The polo makes a great base layer for the dress and makes it more wearable, as does the addition of these thigh high boots which cover most of the skin. Plus they have a nice velvet texture against the leather. I love the mystery that they round hat adds covering most of the face with the veil too^
A couple of looks next with the Fuschia Puff Silk Puff Blouse which does seem pretty popular! France25 wears it with the Saint Laurent Inspired Diamond Hoops and pairs it with a rather fabulous fuschia eyeshadow look. The black pieces in the rest of the look make a solid grounding for the fuschia, and I love the neck tie and draping length to the ankle. And not only has the Fuschia Puff Silk Puff Blouse been styled here, there are some fabulous additional stylings in the background =)
Then also in the Fuschia Puff Silk Puff Blouse is polinapolinka going for a more causal styling choosing a light and ripped denim, completely different but also very much working well for the piece! I like the little additions to this styling, like the red belt-bag, the quirky shoes, and the very fitting makeup look - it's perfect for the style!
Moving on to something a little more subdued from juliette116 with the Lace Victorian Puff Blouse in this layered styling. The sleeves look fantastic contrasted against the velvet black vest ontop of the blouse, they really stand out. Love the dusted pink trousers and all those accessories chosen, they suit the styling well =)
A second styling with the Lace Victorian Puff Blouse comes from MissSierr, but also adds the Silk Thread Playsuit and wearing it as a shirt - I think it looks good! It layers nicely with the jeans, which is a little surprising to me, so maybe I should give this a go. The lace looks nice in the deep V of the playsuit and matches with the white jeans well. Love the black accessories, I think them paired with the white really make the look pop!
rob_sef7 has indeed been wearing a lot of black-based looks recently and this is a good one to add to the archive^ Featuring just the Saint Laurent Inspired Diamond Hoops, this is a great way to sell them! They look fantastic with the black shirt and silver glittered maxi tulle skirt, plus with the red lip, that is a great beauty choice for them^
Now something bright for you to look at, from Marta-43 wearing one of the Saint Laurent Inspired Diamond Hoops and also the Electric Blue Feather Thigh Highs - I am so glad to see someone wear these boots, and in such an amazing way! I think that this gives me hope that they really can look great, we all just need a little time to think about how to style them =) I also love the earring combination, they're a stylish pairing.
And finally from this style-queen pandaribbon! Four great looks featuring pieces from this release. I really quite love the first look with the Lace Victorian Puff Blouse layered on top of this blue dotted dress. The orange stands out so well, such a great combination. The second is also pretty nice combining the Heart Shaped Victorian Body with the silk pink floral skirt, they're a cute pairing that's inspiring me to buy the body^

I N S P I R E D B Y S A I N T L A U R E N T | Tribute Review

And here is our third Tribute of the season, Saint Laurent! This season sure is going by quickly and I hope there are at least two or three more sets of goodies in store for us =) Saint Laurent has been released a couple of times before, and from this homepage advert, I sure am excited to get on in and see the store and pieces chosen from the collection - the ad is minimal and has a classic Saint Laurent feel about it!
Highlights We got three floors of pieces this time, and it does feel like a much larger collection than the more intimate Gucci - although maybe it's because I'm feeling so much more love for this release than our Tribute from last week! The store certainly has a similar vibe to previous releases with the marble and minimal boxed room feel, I love the whites and greys for this and I think it works well to show off the pieces =)
Accessories So there is a reasonable range of accessories with this release, although a small number of pieces. I have to say, looking at the real collection, there are a lot more things which could have been used that I would have loved as well, but I think there's some good picks for us to choose from here! There are two pairs of shoes, both boots, the Black and Crystals Scrunched Boots, and while I like the idea along with the style and fit of these, I don't think they have a hugely versatile wearability - while they look fabulous with the clothing pieces, I think making sure they look good with a range of other styles could be a little on the trickier side of things.
There are also two bags, which totally get my love! There's the Heart Silhouette Clutch and then the Tuxedo Shoulder Bag. The Heart piece is a fab item, maybe a little novelty for some, but it adds a great pop of colour and designer-flair to an outfit that I think will work out nicely in a lot of different situations both dressed up and casual. I also love the detailed texture on it, the patent leather comes out really nicely. And then the Shoulder bag, which I think seems to be somewhat of a staple from this release. It's got classic colours and design and I think it will be a winner of a piece that will work nicely with darker styled outfits, particularly in winter. And then there is a small selection of jewellery pieces. What stands out most is the YSL Monogram Choker, a piece which I just know immediately will be well-loved among the Stardoll members as the choker style is still going strong, it's maybe just a little more expensive than your average choker though! For the neck there's also the Choker With Red Flower, a little of a larger piece, which does put me off of it a little as it can't really be worn discretely, although check out the features below for a good idea for this piece^ And then lastly are the YSL Heart Earrings, yes, finally a pair of earrings! These are delicate and super shiny and therefore attractive, however are reasonably large in size so might overwhelm an outfit so I'd kinda prefer them to be a little more delicate.
Clothing The clothing has a classic Saint Laurent vibe with the typical black pieces available however with some bursts of colour also featuring in there too. There's a pretty decent range of styles of pieces and designs to choose from - I really do think it would be easy for everyone to find something that suited them in this release!
Dresses There are several dresses in this collection, mostly mini pieces, which I don't wear so much, but this lot are pretty well designed and are mostly in black so it does make them quite wearable - my top pick for these would have to be the Turtleneck Velvet Dress with it's long sleeves and high neck and the shimmery polka-dot style, I think it does suit my doll pretty well and I can see it looking great in some winter party outfits. The Velvet Dress With Ruffled Shoulder and Strapless Mini Dress are very similar however do have some quite extravagant shoulder additions to them, which makes them a little less easy to wear, but that's just for me - it will no doubt be the complete opposite for some of you! Then there's the slightly midi dress, the Lace Slip Dress which is a little lingerie-esque but I do think it's sold as a dress rather than lingerie^ I love the style with the loose fit and the hem height and the detailing in the lace, it's just so pretty! It is a little sheer up top, but there's plenty of work-arounds for that that I can think of, so I don't think this will be an issue so much. And lastly there's also one maxi dress, which is pretty stand out in the collection, the Pleated Gown With Shoulder Detail. It is a nice piece, I absolutely love the texture on the dress, and also the fit, I think it looks good on the doll, I just don't like the oversized shoulder detail so much, and I also know that I don't dress my doll in gowns like this so it wouldn't be worth the money for me.
Bottoms There are 4 bottom-half pieces on offer, and this time I quite like the good range of skirts as I've become much more of a skirt person these last few months. I immediately went for the Crystals Skirt, what's not to love - sparkly, bodycon fit, and midi length, it's pretty awesome! I think a lot of people have felt the same about this one and I know we'll be seeing it a lot for quite some time^ Then there are two shorter options, the black and minimally sparkly Asymmetrical Mini Skirt With Ruffles and the brown leather Skirt With Ruffles. I'm not sure which I prefer, I'm more of a minimal person, but I quite like the idea of the brown leather ... or maybe I don't want either of them! I've not seen many stylings of either, but one of the features below is really selling me on the Skirt With Ruffles! And lastly a pair of jeans, the High Waist Skinny Jeans which have a good fit and a nice wash, so a decent pair of jeans, but maybe also an expensive one! I don't find myself wearing jeans much on Stardoll, so for me they're not worth it when I have other similar pairs, but I'm sure they're perfect for some of you!
Tops A reasonable number of tops are featured in this store - but you've either gotta love lace or love those sparkles =) In lace there are two options, the Lace Body With Oversized Sleeves which actually isn't a body, it's just a top, but it is pretty much sheer all over, so there's that to consider, but it is a pretty piece and the design is a very nice one. Then there's the Floral Lace Bodysuit (it is a body this time^) which I don't like so much because it's not sheer - I don't like the white/grey panel under the delicate lace design, I don't think it looks good at all. And in the sparkly pieces you do get a range of shirt styles, there's a proper shirt style with the Crystals Blouse which is in a navy blue style and I like the style of this one, I think it looks good on and I'm excited to see it getting styled! Also kinda navy, but a little bit green is the One Shoulder Crystal Blouse, I think it's a cute piece and it looks fine on the doll, but I'm not sure the style is for me, out of these two, the first is definitely my preferred piece. And last but not least the Crystals Top which is silvery, long sleeved and cropped, and after a few looks at it, is also pretty structured in the shoulder, which I think is what's making me hesitant about it - it does look fabulous with the matching Crystals Skirt but I'd need to have a good think about what else I could style it with before committing to it.
Outerwear And the last section, the outerwear, which alike the other recent releases is pretty small. Three pieces, all completely different in terms of style and design which is great and I think these all go down pretty well actually! My favourite, and many others too I think, is the Oversized Coat - a lot of us love a good oversized coat and with this not being limited or too pricey it's worthwhile picking it up! The colour is actually a little off black, I do see some navy in it, but I don't mind this for the awesome style - it's an easy one to put in an outfit and I think it will be popular and wearable for a long time yet =) Then there's the Plunging Blazer With Crystals which I'm leaning towards not liking, and again I think it's the structuring of the shoulders, I just don't like how it looks on my doll =/ Lastly, a piece I'm on the fence about, so I need some opinions on it, the Camel Jacket Sleeves. I like the colour and style and the sheepskin collar, along with the fit, but I just don't know if it has a huge versatility factor - how many times would I realistically wear it?! I can see it being good through autumn and winter, but I don't wanna buy it only to get fed up with it 6 months down the line ... help me decide!!!
Prices The collection ranges from 17 to 43SD's, so not the cheapest of releases and I did find that after buying 5 pieces, the cost did add up quickly. None of the pieces are SS or Royalty only though, so that's a good point. You just have to be pretty sure on your purchases to make the most of your money here!
Styled Outfits I took a little time to make my decision on what to purchase and then again more time on how I wanted to style the pieces and actually I'm glad I did as I'm very pleased with the pieces I bought and these looks! First up the Lace Slip Dress and I placed pieces both underneath and on top to make up for the skimpiness and I think it still looks alright - you can still see the lacy details and the levels of hem. I really liked adding this bow choker, the style fits well with the dress, and I think the pointed mules are perfect. Sadly couldn't find the perfect bag to match - any ideas?! Next up the Heart Silhouette Clutch, which is just such a perfect style and colour match for this split maxi dress, don't you think?! I love it, and edged it up with the black leather jacket and black heels. Sure I could have gone more wild, but I think this is an effective way to show off this great bag =) And lastly the Oversized Coat which I wasn't sure about what to wear it with at first and I tried out a lot of things until settling on this blue combination, I think the culottes actually work pretty spot-on with the coat! I went silver for my accessories and love the chunky belt and heels to match the oversizing of the coat. This set is a winning one for me =D
Features And now for some features, I think I've found a really good set of them for this release =D This look is from dm2udm2u and includes the Lace Body With Oversized Sleeves, Choker With Red Flower and Heart Silhouette Clutch. I love the combination of the lace with this dress, it's such a good way to wear both pieces as the best of each get shown off, plus the Choker works rather well as a belt!
This look, or I should say, these looks, are from France25 and give a fresher vibe to the pieces, styling them in a more street manner. I love the Oversized Coat combined with the purple and the printing. The tones are nice for each other and it makes an easy combination to add hair and beauty to, particularly that lip colour =)
And now something brighter and perfect for transitioning to autumn styles, Isabella8103 styling the leather Skirt With Ruffles, which looks awfully good with this mustard sweater. The brown  and golden accessories are great additions and stand out nicely against the skirt - particularly those laced boots and that lip colour, a lot of good lip colours in these features so far!
Another styling with the Lace Body With Oversized Sleeves, this time from kikinha_25 styling it more minimally to show off all of it's features to their full extent. It works well with this midi skirt and I think the bow at the neckline is a sweet and eye catching addition. I like the hair up too as it really shows the piece itself =)
And the final, Marta-43 wearing the Camel Jacket Sleeves. I'm pretty impressed with this one, and love the jacket paired with the velveteen skirt, I think it's a great texture combination. The white makes a good base, but I think other tones would also work. Particularly love the shoulder bag, I think it's a perfect piece for the jacket in both colour and style^
