T R A I L S | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

The recent TRAILS release didn't catch my eye at first, but it's a pretty big collection and so amongst all the pieces I thought there were some nice options there. You guys enjoyed the release too and I've seen many people styling up mainly one piece, the Brown Dress! I spotted harpie styling it in such a glamorous way, it almost makes me want to buy the dress myself. This dress has a high-low style hem, but the layering in this outfit works perfectly and it seems like a maxi dress, which I definitely prefer, and the colours of the two pieces work so nicely together. The accessories are beautiful and the gold pieces complement the rust colour of the dress nicely - love all the choices^
Then a second feature, millaxx opted for the Black Knitwear, which while it isn't my style at all, I think it looks fantastic in this styling =) While the piece is more casually designed, this look is full of elegance, it makes it seem like the knitwear is a completely different piece. I love the contrast between the white of the skirt with the chunky dark knitwear, but the print pulls both pieces together well. The accessories are all fabulous, from the necklace to the bag and shoes - absolutely perfect choices here!
And then for my own looks - I'm still contemplating that Black Knitwear, but so far have just bought the Straw Skirt which I think looks like such a great Summer beachwear piece, and the orange hue to the colour really got my attention. When it came to styling, the skirt was a little more difficult that I thought, but actually after trying on a lot of pieces, I do think I'm pleased with how the outfits turned out and I look forward to styling it again. First up I simply love this orange polo with the skirt, what a great pairing! And of course I had to make use of the matching orange accessories that the top came with, and I'm so pleased with the outcome, a perfect Spring-Summer transition look^ With the second look I knew I wanted to use white, and this open neckline shirt is a great one for a Summer styling. Accessories were also easy as I have plenty of options in white, I'm particularly liking these sandals with the skirt, I love the heel design and square toe.

The latest TRAILS release in the Plaza was a pretty big one with three floors of Summer pieces to choose from. It was a mixed bag for me, but I did pick up a few pieces to style, first though, some features! This outfit from harpie features both the Crinkled Top and Pants worn in such a creative fun way, I really love it^ Theses two pieces naturally look good together, but also look amazing as base pieces to this fabulous dress. The citrus design and colours on the dress really work perfectly with the green beneath, and the top looks great as an off shoulder piece. The accessories are perfect finishing touches too, love the orange belting and earrings along with the bright yellow bag!
Next up is a styling from Mery.- making use of the Orange Pants. Despite being a Summer release I think these trousers really have a versatile look to them, the colour is very Autumnal and the style is pretty neutral in terms of being a straight leg design. This is a great Summer-Autumn transitional styling, the trousers look fab with this loose jacket. The blue-orange top is such a fun addition, it really catches the eye and draws you in. And the accessories are great too, love these sandals in the styling a lot, along with the gold bangles^
Now for my own stylings - whilst this was a Summer release it's very much now Autumn, so I have tried to make these pieces work for Autumnal stylings. Firstly is the Crinkled Top - I did also buy the Crinkled Pants, but decided to style this alone. I love the pleated styling to the piece and decided to continue that with the skirt, I really love this pairing and I think the belt is a fun split between the two while fitting the overall style very nicely. Adore these boots with the look, the green is very complementary to the top colour. The simple accessories made for a nice finishing touch =) Next is the Knots Tote which is definitely a Summer piece, but I've tried hard to make it work for a bit of a warmer look, and I think it's been a success. I really liked the idea of wearing brown tones with the bag, so I used those as a base, of course brown is perfect for an Autumnal look. And I still think the bag stands out well agains this beige overcoat - but I'm particularly loving the pairing with these boots, I will definitely be using that again! And the final piece is the Knitted Skirt, which was my favourite piece to style, I don't have anything else like this in my wardrobe and I think it's a very current piece for Autumn. I found this super easy to style, the look came together in minutes. I knew I wanted to colours to be super neutral, the light tones really let the brown of the skirt pop. I adore these ankle booties with the look, they're great for this season and I think the suit the skirt perfectly^ Plus love these sunglasses with the look too, the brown is just what this look needed and these fit the bill =D

T R A I L S | Styled Outfit

Today styling up pieces from the recent TRAILS release - this isn't one of my favourite stores, but I usually pick up a couple of pieces and find these collections good for Summer pieces, and this latest collection is no exception. First up is the Knotted Cord Tote Bag in a completely non-Summer look, haha! I really wanted to use other browns with this bag and I'm very happy with the pieces I've picked, the bag stands out nicely against these brown leather-style trousers. The polo-neck sweater is a relatively good colour match for the knotted fabric of the bag which was what I was aiming for - I did try out lighter pieces but I liked this option best. Kept the accessories paler though and I love that balance added in the shoes and earrings. Second are the Wooden Hanging Earrings which I really love the look of, these really do a great job at standing out against the hair (of my doll at least). I tried out many different pieces using the various colours in these earrings, but I'm pleased with what I opted for. The super neutral clothing really ensures the earrings stand out which I tried to complement with the other accessories. Loved adding this bag, the beading is a nice touch to pair with the earrings and I think the shoes are a fitting choice. I really quite like this^ And finally is the Wool Tote, I really like this piece as it's inspiration is a Chloe bag that I like the design of, so I'm happy to have this version for my doll. With a lot of dark in the bag I was unsure initially how to style it, but I really like the outcome choosing some classic neutral pieces from the collection of many neutral pieces XD The neutral clothing works nicely with the strap of the bag, and I think for this piece it works well not adding too much else to the styling. For accessories, black was the obvious choice and I picked some classic beautiful pieces that work well to highlight the bag. I've not seen so many people styling these pieces so would love to see some of the pieces styled soon!

We're getting Summer-ready a little early with this recent release of TRAILS in the Plaza. These floaty fabrics, with short lengths and great colours are all spot on with some great and popular trends. There's a good mix of clothing and accessories and I'm super excited to style up some of these pieces in Spring vibes! First up though, a couple of features - the Frill Blouse (18SD's) seems to be the most popular choice and I'm loving the versatility with it I'm seeing so far. The first feature styling it up is Mia1435 going for a super fun mixed styling, with light airy clothing, pairing the blouse with a perfectly style-matched skirt, and then rocking it up in the accessories department. These black boots surprisingly look fantastic with this outfit, and the thick belting balances this perfectly, it suits the design of the blouse perfectly to highlight the best parts^ And the beauty and jewellery styling of this look is fantastic too, so gorgeous!
And then in something a little more casual is this styling from ayselevi, opting for a fun denim pairing with the piece, I think it's so cute! The denim brings something fun with the different panels on the jeans, but the light is kept with this handheld jacket and the white shoes. Also love the belt, it's a perfect addition, as is the little chain on the side^ The bags are also an adorable pairing, I love them together and both work perfectly for this styling. Another great jewellery selection in this styling, it really stands out to me =D
I of course also had to pick up the Frill Blouse from the store, it's just such a cute piece! I had such a good time styling this so I can see why it's been popular so far. I've gone for a super Summery styling, I think the neckline ruffle detail looks so good balanced with the ruffle design on this skirt, and the rest of the pieces being white really keeps the focus on the ruffle pairing^ I picked some simple jewellery and accessory pieces which I think complete the look very nicely, I'm so pleased with this styling overall! And then secondly I also styled the Rope Shorts (15SD's), I love the colour of these and how smart they look for a casual piece, and I also love this outfit^ This blazers base colour is a perfect match for the shorts and I think the black contrast does work quite nicely - I know it won't be for everyone, but I quite like it. I'm happy with the pale shoes and darker handbag style as I think that gives a good balance in the accessories so it's not too heavy on the black, but overall I think it makes a good Spring styling. I found a lot of cute top options for these shorts so I think I'll get good use from them in the upcoming seasons =D

Last week brought us a brand new TRAILS release, which has been a hit or miss store for me, I often will only buy 1 thing, but this time, the accessories of the release are absolutely amazing! The styles and designs are current and trendy, and I've found them very easy to style up for you today^
First up the Pearl White Bag, which is in the very trendy beaded style, we've had this similar design before in black, but a white or pearlescent one is perfect to add to the Plaza! I kept my look light and this mint colour is great with the beads. White in the rest of the style makes the focus on the mint and bead pairing. It's such an easy to wear style for sure! Secondly the All Around Handbag, which I think was a given for me to purchase for it's white colour. I also love the design, the size is nice and the tie details on the handle are fantastic. I went a little dark on this style with the black polo, but I loved the standout look of the striped trousers - the bag can definitely be described as quite basic, so it can take a fun print to make the look stand out. The white blazer brings the look back for sure, and I think it works pretty nicely =) And finally a pair of shoes, the Slip In Heels which are in a great beige/nude colour making them super versatile. I love the the chunk of the heel and also the square of the toe, I think these will be a winning pair over the Spring/Summer season. I found a lot of sweet dresses which worked well with these, so I look forward to making more stylings, but this time I went with this beige floral piece, as the colour really looks amazing with the shoes. I kept the accessories very fitting with the colour and added gold in the necklace as a little something detailed.

Let me know what you thought of this release and your favourite pieces too!

We recently got a brand new release of TRAILS for the summer - with shorts and dresses in light fabrics to choose from. This release wasn't so much my thing, there was nothing I was really desperate to have. I did pick up the Green Safari Pants to style up though!
I do think these will work well in the Autumn as I think they will layer really nicely with boots and the darker tone will work well with stylings in that genre, but I attempted to stay away from boots for the minute (and only half failed^). The first styling is something a little smart, black shirts will work well with the trousers because of the black belt included in them, for me this top is super smart and really changes the vibe of the trousers. I like adding these cool classy shoes too, the black toe tip fits the look with the white base to the design really pops out - I think it works fairly well! I did use boots in my second styling, but just ankle booties because of that print! The print of the boots is perfect for the shirt, I like the hues of colours in it with the trousers. I added a bag too which I think works well with the print tones, but I think the look is missing something ... maybe some sunglasses? I look forward to trying out more styles with these trousers!

T R A I L S | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

We got a brand new release of TRAILS at the end of last week with some super fun pieces for our dolls to enjoy on their exotic winter getaways^ The advertising really is beautiful this time, the colour and glow of the sun drew me in and really makes the pieces look amazing, it definitely attracted me to the store much more^ Some great pieces in this release, but for me it didn't really warrant a review, but I've styled up some pieces and spotted some stylings around the site =) I think this is one to definitely revisit when summer is here for most of us and I can see myself purchasing that Ruffled Cotton Wrap Skirt with the actual leopards on it to style later in the year! I'll also recommend the Samui Metal Sunglasses which are a pretty good alternative to the Dior pair that I constantly wear!
Millaxx makes good use of the Dancing Queen Leather Belt in this styling with beautiful matching trousers, that's a combination I wanna steal for sure =) The orange is bright and bold and catches your eye, I love the contrast in colour with this purple/blue floral dress worn as a polo, there's a little brown in there which is spot on for the orange. Also loving the shoes and earrings as accessories, just great!
I bought quite a few pieces from this release, and have gone for slightly more summery stylings. First up pairing the Cropped Broadcloth Top and Espadrille Wedge Sandals together with this pleated midi skirt, I think it's a cute summer styling^ The raffia clutch and these gold rimmed sunglasses are nice finishing touches. And in my second styling, the Woven Crochet Bag which is super pretty in blue, it's something different to the usual natural tones. I love it against the white pieces, which made choosing other accessories pretty easy - a smart summer styling for sure with this one =)

Our last summer release I suspect, new TRAILS! I've found this before with TRAILS, but I never feel initial love with this store, I need to give the pieces a year to settle in! It's not a huge release, so doesn't really warrant a review, but I picked up a piece, and was very kindly gifted another piece by a friend so decided to style them =)
Firstly, I didn't mean for the looks to match quite like they have, but I'm quite enjoying it^ The Espadrille Wedges are on the left, and cost just 5SD's which I think is a great price. I love how slimming they make the foot look, and also love the black against the classic pale straw-based sole, I think it looks very streamline. I based my look on the black, with this cami one of my solid summer staples and I love the style of it with these shoes. The yellow trousers add a light touch and work perfectly in the styling with these earrings by the wonderful aeyafternoon^ And the yellow pairs nicely with the second look featuring the Frill Mini Skirt which is just adorable, I wish we'd had it earlier in the summer! After the first styling I decided to keep it in the same vibes, and chose to use black in the accessories with a similar belt and these fab summer flats. The white off shoulder frilled top adds a lightness to the look and I love it paired with the frilled hem of the skirt!

P L A Z A P I C K S | T E N F R O M T R A I L S

This month the theme fell upon me very quickly and I made the choices in a matter of second - I love when that happens! I'd spotted someone wearing a dress and thought it looked super cool, imagine my surprise when I saw it was from TRAILS! It's not a store I've had huge success with in the past, but sometimes a break brings good things - because I very easily picked out 10 pieces I'm really liking for this summer in the TRAILS store =) And outfit ideas came quickly to me too, so they are easy stylers as well, which is a bonus^

T R A I L S | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

One of our last summer-themed releases was TRAILS a little while back - and initially I was super excited because I saw the Double Slit Floral Skirt and freaked out because I actually own this piece in RL^^ The rest of the store was a little disappointing to me - a few good things but mostly not for me, so I decided to do a Styled post rather than a review =) First up for features is aby400 wearing the Double Slit Floral Skirt, I love that it's been combined into this autumnal styling and I think it looks good with this oversized sweater and white shirt hem. Love love love the red boots, the slight colour contrast stands out and looks nice. Plus lets not forget the fabulous makeup =D
And styling my next favourite piece, the Cotton Draw String Culottes is ThePerpetua - this is a classic beautiful styling and makes these culottes look so high fashion! They look super smart paired with this white-based look, especially the shirt which I think stands out equally well. Love the meshed stockings and heels along with the pom pom on the belt - and another great headpiece!!!
And then I styled both of these pieces - I have definitely not done as good a job at styling them as these guys^ I know the Double Slit Floral Skirt goes well with black so that was my go to, and this cami is a perfect summer piece for the skirt. I accessorised minimally but kept to my theme, I love these delicate heels with the skirt, they don't bring too much darkness and they still look summery. For the Cotton Draw String Culottes I went more Autumnal and a lot of grey with black. I really like the tone of them, the darkness definitely adds a smart feel to them that gives them a good versatility ... I wanna work with these more, there's a lot of options for them and I look forward to exploring them =)

T R A I L S | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

Hot on the heels of the last TRAILS release comes another 2 floors for this store! I definitely found it easy to pick up a few autumnal pieces from this release as the colours were perfect on them - I've seen quite a few stylings of my favourite pieces, so I think they were a hit with everyone =D
Firstly Cold_Iceberg. who has gone with the Floral Print Midi Skirt in a very sweet almost country style fashionable look with the use of this LE blouse - it's not a piece I've seen styled well, so this really blew me away, I kinda want it badly now^ Anyway, the blouse looks great with the skirt and the collar matches the skirt very well. Love the red tones bag and shoes, they're a great match to each other and the clothes. Plus, can't forget that beauty look, I think this is one stunning doll!
And secondly Mia1435 going with the Brown Suede Effect Pants in a pretty retro styled look. I love the yellow and orange tones of the top half with the trousers, they're super complimentary and I think the accessorising has been very creative with the choice of blue in the bag and sunglasses - I think it works out well =D
And then my looks - I purchased 3 pieces from the store, the Brown Suede Effect Pants, Floral Print Midi Skirt and Super Wide Leg Pants. I think it's such a bonus that there's good SC pieces in this release and that definitely makes TRAILS a popular store for the time being! The tones in them all are fairly similar, so as a set I found them easy to style with neutrals and tans. I think these will be perfect pieces going into autumn and they work very well with reds too, so maybe an autumn lookbook featuring these pieces will be in store =D

T R A I L S | Styled Outfits

I didn't find myself hugely impressed by the latest release of a brand new store, TRAILS. The pieces don't really fall into my style category so much and I really struggled to see any great bonuses to this store other than the number of SC pieces. So instead of a review I decided to style what I did end up purchasing to give a try - which is a huge benefit of the SC price tags =D
I purchased the Trails High Waisted Pants to give a go, and I have to say I really struggled with them! The colour isn't really a classical one, so choosing pieces which matched well was very tough, it really made me grow a dislike towards them. I went with stoney tan shades which seemed to work alright for them, but I don't think my looks sell these trousers to the best of their ability, I'm not sure if it's me or the trousers that is the issue but I'm leaning to the trousers - they're just not that great a piece! I'd quite like to see some of you guys try these, so let me see your best shot and see if you can change my mind =D They were only 130SC's, so I'm not mourning the loss too deeply, luckily!
Overall, this store gets a big thumbs down from me unfortunately!
