2013 / / T R I B U T E S R E V I S I T E D

Our fourth summer of Tributes! There weren't quite so many releases this summer, just five, comprising of: Chanel; Giambattista Valli; Christian Louboutin; Frankie Morello; and Mark Fast. And I don't feel like they have been, overall, the best season of HBs. The latter two weren't great releases and have pretty much been forgotten about. The first three pull their weight though with some great pieces included!

Chanel of course to start with. I remember this collection as being quite memorable - the lego style bags for one, and the fact that there were lots of people complaining about this one when it came out. Right now however, I'm quite liking the pearl designs and details and the pretty dresses, so looking back I'm quite happy with this one! Looking at the collection it was inspired by however, there were some stunning designs which were left out which I think a lot of people would maybe have liked instead. These pieces are pretty easy to get ahold of in the Bazaar, I searched with a 40SD limit and found a whole range of the pieces there =)
And a feature, because others are still wearing this collection too, Funopler going with the Tahitian Pearl Dress, which is great because it's minimal yet I feel like I still know it's Chanel! The styling is great, the shirt additions are perfect for the piece and I love the use of silver detailing throughout on the toe caps, earrings and as studs on the bag - that bag is a great choice for this look =)

I wasn't hugely fussed about this collection back in 2013 - the pieces are quite dressy, so not so much my thing, and the colours were a little odd for me. Fast forward to today, I still think a little like that but there are some fabulous individual pieces in this collection which I loved styling, and one piece, the Amethyst Valli Heels, which I even featured in this months WEARING post, these were a great new discovery from this store and I think I might try out some more of the shoes because of it^ Now considering the original designs, you need a little (or sometimes a lot) of imagination to see where pieces are coming from, it's not exactly spot on I'd say!

Our very first Tribute store entirely dedicated to shoes and bags! And I really loved this one - and I still do! I still have an unbelievable amount of Christian Louboutin pieces in my wardrobe and I still love working with them =D I've even styled up several pairs of the shoes before not all too long ago and some of these are definite 'go-to' pieces in their own categories. This store had a super creative presentation and it definitely has stuck in my mind. There are so many great pieces in this store and hopefully this will show people how fab they were and that they are worth re-living 5 years later=)

Christian Louboutin | A Shoe Styling

The Christian Louboutin tribute store came out in the Plaza in July 2013 - almost 4 years ago, and I think it's probably one of the more forgotten stores out there as there has just been the one release and I don't think any of the individual pieces themselves have been hugely iconic in terms of style. I really like the pieces that the store had on offer, and not just shoes, some bags as well, and I look forward to posting a few in a Bag It Up Challenge post later this week. The traditional red sole isn't something as noticeable on the shoes as I think many would want but it definitely doesn't put me off! I already had 5 pairs of the shoes in my wardrobe, and a quick StarBazaar search adding a 6th but also showed me that there were plenty of Louboutin pieces available there and at pretty decent prices, often lower than the original cost =D

Styling Shoes Challenge #2 | Duplice Wedges

Pair #2 are a bit of an oldie Tribute pair - the Duplice Wedges from the Christian Louboutin store. Wedges are purely a summer shoe in my mind, so I paired them with 3 summer looks. I didn't mean to make them all white based, but I do think it helps the shoes stand out a little in the look! I rarely wear these and I rarely see them worn around Stardoll, but they are very nice shoes and hopefully I've shown they can be worn in more than just a very casual look - although the 3rd outfit with those ripped jeans is probably my favourite of the 3 =) Which do you guys like best?

Wearing Louboutin

It's been a couple of days since the Christian Louboutin store was released, so it's time for my Wearing Louboutin post! Let's see some outfits styled with items from the store =)
...singstar...
lula.l
Mery.-
LuluCrawford
Today I chose 4 looks to feature - 3 styling shoes, and 1 styling a bag, I'll start from the top =) So ...singstar... has chosen the wedges, these are shoes I love and purchased immediately, and she wears them with a simple skirt and top. I think this really works as it draws you straight to the shoes. Having a plain base really opens up the world of accessories, so she's taken advantage of this and gone for a cute floral clutch and purple sunnies =) I loved the floral arrangement in the background so much that I had to include it! I think it complements the outfit really nicely!
Lula.l has chosen the bright leopard print ankle boots, another pair which I bought, and has styled them as the clear focal point of her look by wearing them with white. I've never really noticed this jacket before, but now I've seen it dressed this fabulously, I kinda want it! The small section of purple on it really complements the shoe colours, and the simple necklace to accessorise works perfectly in minimalistic fashion.
Mery.- has chosen bow heels to style, this is a pair I haven't bought yet as I was on the fence about them, this styling is almost swaying me to buy them though! This is a much less summer styling, but it still looks fab =) She's chosen the red as a featured colour and worn it with dark trousers and a Miu Miu inspired blouse. The red also is reflected in the bag choice(Chanel Tribute), I think these 2 pieces work together really nicely!
The final outfit comes from LuluCrawford, who's chosen to style a bag rather than shoes, in fact, this was the first styling of one of the bags that I saw! I love the monochrome based base for the look, choosing grey trousers and top, with a white jacket and black heels then matching her lip colour with the red of the bag - a cute and stylish combination!

I know a lot more of you will have styled items from the store, but this is just a small selection! Let me know what you think of my choices in comments =)

Christian Louboutin Tribute Review

Today the next new Tribute store was released, and it was Christian Louboutin! What a fab store to have released on Stardoll =) Lets get on with the review! The store has two very creatively presented floors filled mainly with fab shoes but also with a small selection of handbags:
The presentation is great, I think it really makes the shoes look appealing. It could have had a more professional feel by being in a sleek store with shiny floors and walls and everything sitting perfectly on glass shelves, but this adds a playful feel to the designer brand. Prices, I feel, are very reasonable, ranging from 11 to 18SD's - I don't feel this is too much at all, it's a Tribute store, we should expect higher than average prices, and considering normal shoes can set us back 8-10SD's, this isn't too much of a shock to the purse!
So far I've purchased 6 pairs of shoes, a bag, and the store carrier bag - it came to just over 100SD's which is actually not bad considering how much I've spent at the other stores! I feel this time I really made wise(ish) choices on choosing which items to purchase as I really feel I went for shoes which I would wear and went for ones which I knew what I would wear them within first sight! Hopefully I'll remember this when I get around to styling them! I do plan on Styled Outfits posts for all the Tribute stores, it's just one of those things on my list that I never quite get around to - I have no excuse though, it's the summer holidays, I have no job, I just chill at home/my flat! Tomorrow I will post write all day!!! So I wont show you which items I bought because you'll be seeing them this week in my Styled Outfit post - that's a promise! =D
So overall I really liked the store, yes, some pairs could have been designed better, but I'm pleased that I was able to choose a handful of pairs from the store.

So opinions on this new Tribute release? Do you guys like it? Which pieces did you buy? Tell me in comments below!

The 7 Day LE Shoe Challenge: Day Three

Woo, so I've managed to get to day 3 and I'm not bored of the challenge - yay! It's an achievement for me to post everyday, as some of you know I'm not the most reliable blogger!
Today I chose this pair of shoes, they are from the most recent 14th collection and cost 40SD's - currently they aren't available in the StarBazaar, but they should be soon after the next collection has been released =)
I'm not entirely sure who they're inspired by, but Christian Louboutin had a couple of pairs, so I'm drawn to go with that - if anyone know for definite please let me know =)
I thought this pair were quite easy to style actually, I felt like I knew the sort of look I wanted before starting:
So I chose trousers again, this time a DKNY pair(which I've been yet to wear). I felt like the trousers were a good match to the shoes for some reason, even though they cover most of the shoes I still like the combination. I then added a simple white vest and the Chanel jacket(another item which I haven't worn until today!) - I felt like I needed to use pastels with the outfit really, I didn't want to use too much white as it can look a bit boring, but I think the jacket was a good addition. I finally added a beaded necklace to add detail to the neckline. I think I've also pulled the outfit together nicely with the sequin/sparkle details on the shoes, jacket and necklace =)
So if you think you can make a great outfit with these shoes - go ahead! Either in your own suite if you own them, or mine if you don't, then snap a pic and send me the link(imgur would be best) in the comments section below, and I might just feature your styling!

Also let me know what you think of the outfit that I compiled!

The 7 Day LE Shoe Challenge: Day Two

So, day two of the challenge, and I chose this pair of shoes, they are from the most recent 14th collection and cost 45SD's - currently they aren't available in the StarBazaar, but they should be soon after the next collection has been released =)
They were inspired by this pair from Christian Louboutin (who else?!?!):
Like the last pair I styled, they're definitely not immediately jumping out as my style, but I do like a good challenge to make them work! And I think I've managed alright actually. It was difficult at first, because again I was limited to trousers, but I think it works well together =)
I wanted the shoes to be the focal point, so I chose white clothing to really make the black leap out of the image. I tied the clothing in with the shoes though with the black stripes on the jacket(this is the first time I've worn this jacket as well, and I've had it for quite some time!). Then I chose to have a few more splashes of yellow as seen on the sole of the shoes. So I went for a simple yellow belt, and the risk was in the sunglasses! I've never worn them before, and I'm really not sure they suit the look greatly, but I think they look alright and tie in with the colour scheme fine =) I would have had a bag, but I don't have any yellow ones - I really must sort this out!!!

So if you think you can make a great outfit with these shoes - go ahead! Either in your own suite if you own them, or mine if you don't, then snap a pic and send me the link(imgur would be best) in the comments section below, and I might just feature your styling!

Also let me know what you think of the outfit that I compiled!
