Orange Juice

Nothing like a glass of OJ to wake you up huh? Same for this shade of orange! So zingy!

When I was styling this look, I was actually trying to style that gorgeous hot pink silk shirt from Riviera. I knew I wanted it to go with these hot pink crystal slippers too and I got a bit carried away. All you can see of the shirt now is a peek of collar and sleeve!

This Runway dress is one I've had in my closet for a while, but I've never done anything with. I liked the colours and it's a quality graphic, but it's never really begged me to wear it you know? It's amazing how different you feel about something when it's layered to give it sleeves, or make it longer, or give it a collar. If you're umming and ahhing over an expensive dress, I think trying to style a few different layers with it before buying is a great way to assess how versatile it might be. I think I'll be pulling this dress out a few more times now before it hits the bazaar now...

Attack of the Impractial Sleeves

Am I posting these trousers just a week apart? Yes. I like them that much. Also, I think this shows their range - this feels like a very different vibe to the granny-in-the-rain-chic from last week.

For one, I've leaned into the green even more, smothering my doll in more layers than she can cope with, poor pet. There's just something satisfying about creating dimension between the different shapes and textures in an outfit.

It'd have been easy to lose any concept of the human shape here, but the belt helps to draw it all back in to the centre, as does the darker beige base, literally drawing a V shape downwards. Thanks to this structure, we can go kind of wild with that top layer. It's playful, yet corporate. It's working at the office, then climbing straight into the trashcan with Oscar the Grouch.

B I Z O U | Styled Outfits

Our Summer Bizou release seemed a little all over the place to me, it was really quite disappointing as it seemed to be a mix of pieces for year round with little focus on Summer items (sure it's not Summer for everyone right now, but for the majority of players I think it is). I only picked up one piece from the release that I think is really very nice, the Rouched Satin Midi Skirt - but it sure was harder to style than I first imagined! I love the bold colour of this piece, it's a bright orange-red that is fab for Summer, but I didn't anticipate that the ruched lace design on the front would pose me such a problem. I found it really adds a casual vibe to the piece which I wasn't thinking of when I purchased it, but I still think I made it work. First up something super simple, this white off-shoulder top is a great Summer staple and I think the ruffling in its design looks great with the ruching. I kept the rest of the pieces white in the look too and I think it makes for a pretty classic styling - I would definitely wear this again! For the second look I was super pleased to see this sweet strapped top was a great colour-match to the skirt, I think they really look great together, it's just a shame that I don't like the ruching so much in this pairing. For accessories I again opted for light colours but I think I chose some fun pieces, I love these shoes with the look a lot, I think the delicate heel design looks great^ I'm still wearing this skirt as I write this post in another outfit, there's definitely options for this piece to hide the ruching, so I think I will still be able to get good wear out of it with some clever layering. I've not seen anyone else style this piece yet and would love to - let me know if you've tried it out =D

R I V I E R A | Styled Outfits

This years Riviera release has arrived - for me this one is a little of a 'miss', I don't love it a lot, but I did find a couple of pieces that I quite liked and wanted to try out. First up is the Colorful Jacket, which also comes with matching Shorts, I think the pairing is pretty cute but I wasn't convinced I would wear them together, so I'm sticking with just one piece for now. I really love this styling, I think this piece really works well for me as it's a fun mix of a lot of colours that I like^ There's a lot going on with it and I think there are plenty of pairing options for it. For this first styling I decided to use the orange for my trousers and I think this pair is great with the jacket! The styles suit each other nicely and the colour is just right. I kept the rest of the look simple as I think it would be easy to get carried away, the white accessories work nicely as there is also white in the jacket too. I think this piece will be so fun with pinks, red and even green too, so I'm looking forward to trying other options. And then the second piece is the Striped Shirt, which I think is the piece from the collection that I have seen most on other dolls. It's definitely unique, the green base is different from a lot of other green shirts that we have and the stripe colours are also quite different. The gold bracelets on the cuffs are also a unique feature to this piece - I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first, but in the end I was tempted because they are gold. I also very much like my styling for this piece, it won't be for everyone, but I think the double-stripes actually works pretty well =D Somehow the stripe colours on the shirt and this pair of trousers match up nicely, it does look pretty seamless between the two, and I really like the shimmer that the trousers have. With the gold on the cuffs of the shirt I used this for my accessories - I kept it pretty simple yet classic and really allowed the clothes to do all the talking. I'm really pleased with this set of looks!

Paris, J'Taime

I'm making the assumption that this suite is based on a Parisian balcony, but I could be wrong...

After my two-and-a-half-year hiatus from Stardoll, this jumpsuit was one of the first things I came across in the Starbazaar. The shape of it is just sublime, when you get rid of all the accoutrements it originally had - gloves, a kind of shrug, very fashion but too much for me. Alone, it's giving me Naomi-Smalls-Drag-Race-Season-8 vibes, but gentler. Could-be-trousers-but-surprise-it's-a-jumpsuit ya know? I really love a trouser with a good waist pleat too, so if Stardoll ever want to change up their wide leg trouser template, I'll take this one in ten different colours thanks. But I digress...

I really tried to find it as a bargain in the Starbazaar, but after consideration, it was worth the splurge. And I knew immediately I wanted to style it with red. You normally get bright pink and red together, but I love baby pink with this strong tomato red. It adds toughness to what is quite a comfortable, soft palette and silhouette. That's why it's important to bring in some more sculptural elements, like the hard necklace, graphic sunglasses and rough woven bag. The drama is all in the contrasts and there aren't many things more French than drama...

No.

I think the kids call this a mood?

This look is exactly what I intend to wear when I'm a little old lady running errands. All accessories here are tactical - a net bag for shopping, a head scarf to keep the rain off and prescription lenses for reading tiny labels.

I nearly gave this a clear poncho as well, but there's already plenty to work with here. Luckily, the check prints of the top and trousers are in a similar palette, so even though they don't match, they are still harmonious and don't detract from the other details. Which is good, because I really don't want anyone to miss the subtle slogan...whatever the question, the answer is no.

Wisdom Teeth

You ever see those old cartoons where people have toothache? This look makes me think of that, but with crystals. Root canal, but make it fashion.

Honestly, this silver headpiece is kind of ridiculous, but fashion is always toeing that line of bonkers and aesthetically pleasing...

I like this Elie Saab inspired dress a lot - the shape is gorgeous and the details are glamourous, yet elegant. Definitely doesn't need the train that the original had. I'd hoped it would be beltless though as the layered, sort-of obi belt style seems a little cheap, or maybe one-note. Turns out, if you can't take the belt off, you can go the other way and add more belts - I think this tied silver number helps to visually nip in the waist just a bit more, especially in the wake of these voluminous sleeves.

I was very tempted to finish this with a pair of dainty, intricate silver heels to continue the vibe of the dress, but once I'd put that hat on, I knew I needed something chunkier to balance it out. These warm white go go boots are my go-to every time. The shape is great, the colour excellent, and they transform every outfit into something quirkier thanks to their slightly retro, decidedly not cocktail party, vibe. The best outfits defy genre in my opinion. If it's expected by convention, make another choice.
She's maybe a little overdressed for the dentist, but hey, every street's a runway.

P I N K C R O S S B O D Y B A G

Normally I really like the It Girls releases, but this time it wasn't so much my thing - I did however pick up one piece that I thought was fabulous and just had to style, the Pink Crossbody Bag! This is such a fun colour to wear and it will always stand out in an outfit, plus I think it's a great colour to wear in the Summer, there's no better time for it^ I really like the design of this too, the small size is very nice and helps make it more wearable. For the first outfit I really wanted to make use of these shoes, the colour matches the bag very nicely to balance the bold. I thought these trousers were super fun, there's a lot going on with them but the bright pink flowers work well with the bag. The other colours in the print give options to add to the rest of the look, I decided to use orange for the top but lightened the look with the white blazer. For sure a fun styling^ I love my second look, the pink blazer is perfect with the bag and I don't think it's too much at all. With that big block of pink I had to keep the rest of the look more simple, these white shorts are perfect with a blazer for a Summer styling and I kept with those smart vibes for the shirt too. The rest of the accessories were simple and I still stuck with white for those - I really love this, such a classic look for bright pink!

Electric Boogaloo

If you're not checking out Mr. releases, you're definitely missing out. Some of my favourite pieces are from Mr. - especially coats, which are my fatal weakness!

This turquoise coat is such a fantastic colour - so punchy and vivid, especially against the tomato-y red in the beret and bag. And the Subcouture jumper is the perfect match to give texture, but not introduce too many extra elements to the look.

When I'm building a bright, colourful palette, I like to start with two standout shades, then I work to find a third element that draws them together. That can be a similarly toned neutral, simple black or white, or even a print that features both shades at least, if you can find one. Then, you want to choose a consistent hardware shade, in this case a warmer silver, to give you a pool of accessories to choose from.

Once you've established your palette, you can swap things in an out as you please, taking note of shape and texture instead this time. This method works really well when you have one or two things you really want to wear, but you're just not sure how.

G R E E N B O O T B A T T L E | Styled Outfits

I thought the Green Snake Boots from our latest PEARLS release were quite fabulous and wanted to try them out, but they really reminded me that we had another similar pair of boots not that long ago, the Green Snakesking Highheel from Vinyl - the perfect opportunity to see how they compare against each other! I found that both pairs seemed to work well with a lot of the same items of clothing, and for a Summer styling white looked amazing with the both of them and offers almost endless possibilities. What I struggled with more was finding accessories to match the shades of green well, so that was definitely a limiting factor for both pairs, but means I just need to take a look in the Plaza or Bazaar to find some more options. First are the Green Snake Boots which I tried to find an accessory to match before picking the clothes - whilst not a perfect match, I was quite pleased with how this scarf-strap bag looked with the boots and there is a little dark green in the scarf too. With the zig-zag white pattern across the body of the bag I knew immediately I wanted to pair my black and white Balenciaga top in the look which led to the easy choice of white for the other pieces. These trousers and the blazer make for a smart styling and I think that suits the style of the boots very nicely. For a Summer look I don't think the black is too overwhelming and the green pops nicely. Then are the Green Snakesking Highheel which are in a much lighter shade and perhaps the more obvious choice for Spring/Summer. I wanted to try out other green with these so gave these dark culottes a go - I do think they work well with the boots and the two greens are very nice together, but it's a little dark for a Summer outfit. I lightened with a cream blouse, this works well and the sleeves do add some nice detailing. Again accessorising was a struggle, I do like this light bag with both the boots and trousers and I think it goes with the outfit, but it really was my only choice - some light green glasses may have been the perfect final touch for this one! I think these boots do have very good potential though, just perhaps not in this styling.

L E B A Z A A R 2 | Styled Outfits

I really loved my first LE Bazaar stylings post last month, and actually I had a couple of pieces that I purchased back then but didn't include and have since gone on a bit of a spree searching the Bazaar and picking up (what I think are) some good deals! So here are a further nine looks of LE pieces that I've picked up in the Bazaar in the last month or so. First up the Valli Fall Leaves Jacket (LE22), this collection was released when I wasn't SS, so I didn't purchase anything from it first time around, nor did I even write a review! This is such a beautiful piece and I don't think I've seen it in the Bazaar very often, let alone for the relatively affordable price that I got it for (180SD). I love both the leaf detailing across the shoulders and the peplum waist, it's a unique design that I don't have anything like. I knew I wanted to add red in the rest of the look and I'm super pleased with the pieces I picked out, this miniskirt makes for a cute Summer look but the white boots balance the white in the top very nicely. More red in the accessories and I think they complete the look well - I already have some more ideas for this piece so I think it is a great addition to my wardrobe =) Next is the Purple Brooch Top (LE45) which was a real bargain at 40SD, I see this piece a lot in the bazaar, so it's easy to purchase under 80/90SD if you're interested in it. This was definitely one of the trickiest pieces to style, it's a bold piece and I really think it deserves a bold personality of a look! I'm not sure how successful I was with that but I'm pretty happy with my first attempt at styling this piece. Whilst purple is the main colour, there is also red, green and silver included so that gives a few options - I just wish I had something that shade of purple to add to the outfit. Instead I opted for silver trousers which I think work well with the brooch detail and then picked out red in the accessories. I do love these glasses with the top, the two are really perfect together^ And the third piece in this set of looks is the Oversized LE Belt Sweater (LE42), which I've been quite tempted to set out a search for for a while. Before I could seriously start my search I randomly found this in the Bazaar for 116SD and I couldn't resist buying it immediately! Before even buying it I had a few ideas of how I wanted to wear it and it really met my expectations, I love this outfit =) It's a little more Summer into Autumn with the darker green, but for sure is still light with the touches of white throughout. This sweater is really made for a belt and I'm pleased with my choice of this little spiral one, I think it fits the paisley pattern of the sweater well and even though it's black it fits nicely with the look. I really can't wait to wear this piece again =D
This next set features the accessories that I picked up. First are the Chrystal Heel Sandals (LE45) which I got for 59SD and I see relatively often for prices in this sort of range, plus being from a more recent release they're quite easy to find. I really like them for their lilac colour, it's super pretty and current for the present season and the perspex strap across the foot otherwise makes them quite versatile. With recent lilac added to the Plaza in this beautiful skirt and shirt set I couldn't resist wearing these all together, and it's pretty perfect^ I mixed the accessories in orange and lilac which balances the colours nicely. This is such a smart Summer styling, I really love it! And then is the Dolce Vida Woven Bag (LE28) which I have had on my wishlist for quite some time. I've not seen it in the Plaza before, so when I saw it for 150SD I knew I probably wouldn't get a better deal. This is more of an Autumn/Winter piece I think, but I'm pleased with this Summer look that I've put together for it, I feel like I could wear this for the rest of Summer! I knew I needed to add black in the look as there are a lot of black details in the bag, and this top with the big beige button makes for a perfect choice and it pairs well with beige for the trousers too. I kept the rest of the accessories very simple to make sure the bag popped in the look. I really love it, so pleased with this =)
And now for the couple of skirts that I picked up. Here is the Pink Petal Skirt (LE32) which I've always admired but never thought I could make it work, when I saw it in the Bazaar for the first time and at a good price I decided to give it a try. And it sure seems a popular piece since even in just the first few days of having it I received numerous requests to sell it, I'm afraid that won't happen because I really like it! I tried quite a few pieces with it and I think there are plenty of options, for this first look I just couldn't resist this pairing, the colour of the skirt and this top/dress piece are just perfect together and I think the split in the top really is perfect to highlight this uniquely designed skirt. I added a white body underneath as the skirt is completely 'sheer' and I think that worked nicely. I decided to add silver in the accessories as there's a little silver brooch at the neck of the top and I think this completed the look nicely. I didn't find the perfect bag for the outfit though, so that is a task for another time. And then is the LE Max Mara Inspired Gold Skirt (LE29) which I don't think I'd seen in the Bazaar before - given my love of gold pieces I think this might be an obvious choice for me XD I did find this a little tricky to style, mostly because I kept wanting to pair boots with it but I wanted to make an outfit for Summer - so there's a little compromise, shoes for Summer and sweater for Autumn/Winter! But the brown colour of this knit works well with the gold, I think it balances the sheen well. These glitzy heels are great with the skirt, they're both neutral and very glamorous, I will pair these pieces together again for sure. And these sunglasses were a perfect finishing touch - again really struggled with bag choice for this one, particularly whether to choose gold or not!
Onto the final set of looks with two pieces that were styled together in their release. First here are the Chrystal Pants (LE45) which I really regretted not buying shortly after the release because I was seeing so many outfits including them and I wanted to be part of it! These have a great fit on the doll and while part of them is a little sheer, they're not like that all over and definitely feel wearable. I opted for something super simple to make sure they stand out in the look for this first styling with them and I'm very happy with the outfit^ White and silver make a great Summer pairing and I love the length of these trousers for showing off some fabulous footwear too. And the final piece for this post, the Feather Lace Body (LE45) - while this was paired with the trousers in the release, I don't think I'd ever wear the two together, that's maybe just my style preferences though. I initially didn't like this piece for me because I thought it was super sheer for some reason, it's not! The sleeves are a little too fun for me not to test this out. I did enjoy styling this piece, but did struggle a little mostly in finding pieces that suited the colour well. I love the colour of the piece on my skintone so I really want to try and find some matching bottoms for it then I think I will be delighted^ These cream smart trousers are a nice choice for the moment, they fit well at the waistline and with the sleeves too which was essential and eliminated some pieces from my trying-on session. What I do love in this look is the shoes, this pair are a perfect colour match for the top so they really save it!

Old Acquaintances

Well, hello there - remember me? It's your friendly neighbourhood Miloshki, returning from an extended Stardoll break and raring to share some of my style again.

If you've not met me before, I joined Stardoll in 2005 (!) and I started as a Guest Writer here at TSL in 2015 (!!!) though it feels like it was only yesterday.

In terms of style, I love a little bit of everything, but you can expect to see lots of tailoring for comfort, unecessary jackets and twiddly little details that I hope pull the whole thing together. I like to think that I'm flying the flag for the lazy fashion girls, but I'll leave that up to all of you to decide!

We're starting off pretty typical for me - slouchy neutrals, different textures and a restrained hint of sparkle.

When you get a warm grey tone like this jumper, you could easily match it to a stark white. Pairing it with a creamy beige feels more contemporary and overall gives a softer palette to work with, complimenting the softness of the knit.

Similiarly, you might be tempted to pair a skinnier trouser with such a voluminous top, but I think you get away with the wide leg too thanks to the nipped-in waist and the difference in texture. Throw on a contrasting, hard belt with a pointy shoe and any worries that you might have looked ready to lounge on the sofa are gone.

V E L V E T O R C H I D | Styled Outfits

We recently got a new release of Velvet Orchid in the Plaza - it was a bit of a mixed bag which included new pieces, recolours and also some identical pieces to a previous Antidote release, so a little strange but I still picked up some items and have really enjoyed styling them. I did also buy the Braided Earrings which are in a fab lilac colour, but they got a little lost in the blonde hair so I will wear those when I'm brunette again^ First up is the Green Frilled Top (which was originally an Antidote piece), this is such a fun Spring/Summer item, I love the colour and all of those frills are fabulous! I didn't have any big ideas initially for this piece but I knew I wanted to keep it light and Summery, and this skirt fitted the bill well, plus I think it works well with the style of the top. For accessories I opted for greens, these shoes are a great colour match for the top and this bag gets another outing as it works well with both the top and skirt^ Next are the Crystal Boots which I found a little trickier to style as the darker shade of green isn't one I have a lot of. But I do love my outfit and I think this overcoat was a great choice even if it's not well suited to Summer! The white in the rest of the look brings lightness and a slightly more Summer vibe, I really like the length of these trousers over the boots, I think it looks perfect. Mixed up the accessories with both white and green and love these final touches. And the final piece is the Jeans Leather Bag, which I honestly bought because it's inspired by a Loewe bag and I'm very keen to try out the style - it was definitely harder than I thought it would be, but that was down to the colour rather than the style. The mix of tan and blue was hard to work with, I struggled finding clothing in the right shade of each to base a look off of and actually made three looks before choosing my favourite, I really love this one! These brown trousers are a perfect fit with the bag, and this blue top is just about the right shade. The colours do make a fun combination to try out, but it's not something I would wear everyday. Finding the right pair of shoes was another task, I'm pretty happy with the pair I've chosen^

P E A R L S | Styled Outfits

Following on from the stylings in my PEARLS review, here are the stylings of the rest of the pieces that I bought from this release =) First are the Cut Out Pattern Pants which are just beautiful, but I did struggle to style them as I wanted to make a super cool look and just didn't have a lot of inspiration because I wanted them as the focal point of the look. But I do like what I put together and think it's a very wearable styling. I love this bag with them so much, it's just the perfect shade of blue and I don't have any other options that are. I also stuck with blue sunglasses and then kept the rest of the look neutral, this little white half-tuck cami is such a sweet Summer piece, and these heels are a great stylish neutral piece. Then are the Cobalt Tuck Pants which are just quite a stunning pair of trousers and I see these will work well year-round. I stuck with the blue theme for them and I think it's been very successful, although plenty of other colours will look good too. The pale blues added really make the darker colour of the trousers pop. I really love the pairing of this cardigan with the trousers, I think it's adorable and I would wear this again for sure =)
Then onto the tops, first is the Knitted Long Arm Top which I felt so inspired by, and so many ideas came to mind - I really love the option I chose in the end^ I really love these blue boots with the top, the colours are almost a perfect match, so it was really about building a look around those pieces. White seemed a bright choice for Summer and the blue really pops nicely against it, these smart trousers are a very nice choice for both the top and boots. With the sheen on the boots I wanted to add some silver in the accessories, this white/silver bag is a perfect style and colour fit for my vision and I loved completing the look with these silver earrings, the perfect final touch! And then there is the Cobalt Tie Cuff Top, very similar in design to the first one but with a different cuff design and bringing different vibes to a look. Keeping with the theme I decided to stick with white and opted for this midi skirt for a second smart look, and I think it looks super classic, especially with those white heels too^ I didn't have a bag that was a perfect match for this piece, however I think the darker navy really works well with it and the design of this bag is great with those tie cuffs. More white in the accessories, these are nice balancing touches to the outfit.

The Surrealism in Fashion

-the picture contains editing-

Coming up Schiaparelli!

Paris in the 1930s was the epicenter of avant-garde art. It is not surprising that Elsa Schiaparelli and the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali met each other. Their collaboration was the first example of artists and designers collaborations, without which it is difficult to imagine the fashion industry today.

Elsa believed that art and fashion have one goal - to enrich and deepen the understanding of the world that surrounds us.

However, the most mesmerizing works are a hat in the shape of the shoe, a skeleton dress, a dress with a lobster, newspaper print and most importantly the surreal accessories, which she did together with Salvador Dali. These are the creations, by which designers are still inspired to this day.

I've met with this brand not so long ago, but there is no doubt that I have a special place in my heart for it already. In addition, I strongly recommend you to check out their recent haute couture fall winter 2022 collection!

L I M I T E D E D I T I O N | Styled Outfits

Following on the heels of yesterday's LE Review - my LE styled outfits! I bought five pieces from the collection and was then very kindly gifted a number of other items from a friend, so of course I had to style them all^ And needless to say, I already forgot about the Pearl Necklace because it was in my beauty parlor, so I hope to style it soon. First up are a set of accessories, starting with the Two Tigers Bag - this was one of the pieces released in the spoilers so I was quite tempted by this before the collection had even been released. I decided to keep it simple so the bag really stood out and I think I achieved that. The one piece I knew I wanted to pair with it was this belt, I've had this for years and now it finally can shine by being a great partner to this bag, I love it^ I really like the wide leg trousers with the bag, I think they look super smart and sleek and they're something I don't wear often. Of course, finishing off with some more gold accessories, these are perfect =) Next are the Neon Transparent Heels which were such a fun piece to work with and I found I had quite a few options of clothing items to wear with them. Here I opted for this fun bright polo which matches the shoes perfectly, even though I'm not big on neon, it's always handy to have a piece or two hanging around and I think this makes a very nice outfit. The white shorts and blazer keep it more towards my neutral style and also give it a smart touch. I love this matching neon necklace, another piece I've had for a long time waiting for just the right outfit! And lastly in this set are the Fanged Boots which are such a gorgeous pair of boots, I really loved styling them. I decided to add more gold in the look and this dress made a good option because the length meant the fang details could still be shown off. To keep it fitting with the black I added a black polo and also a bag, and I think the black balances out well in the look. Of course I had to add more gold in the accessories too and I think these delicate touches are a great finish for the outfit =)
Now onto some clothing, first is the Starry Dress which is a beautiful piece but actually I hadn't thought at all about how I would style it - I think it needs some refining still. I really wanted to make it work with boots and I do have a pink pair that look fab with it, but I couldn't quite get the rest of the accessories right so I swapped them out for this brown. I love the brown and pink together but I still think the look is missing something! I do love this bag with the dress though, it's a perfect colour fit for the piece. And then is the Fishnet Gem Tunica which I had a lot of ideas for immediately. I knew I had to style it with these burgundy trousers and I just knew they would work together well before I had even tried them on together. I'm relieved that worked out! This styling is super dressy for me with the added sparkle in this little jacket, but I think it really works well with the tunic design and brings out the silver details there, I also continued the silver in the shoes and I love this pair that I've chosen. I debated about whether to layer something under the tunic or not, and then what to layer - I played around with a lot of options before settling on this strapless body and I'm pretty pleased with my final choice. I have so much love for this look =D
And now the final set of stylings. First here are the Metallic Tight Pants which are something a bit different for me, but something I can definitely challenge myself to style a look for and I'm pleased with the outcome. These come with the belt attached so that made for the perfect opportunity to include black and faded gold pieces in the look - I think these shoes are particularly perfect for that and I really love them with the trousers. The top is minimal but I think it really lets the trousers stand out, the jacket adds a more matte touch to the outfit and I think it's a nice final touch. Next are the Limited Jeans paired with the Black Heels which I think look great together^ I opted to focus on adding black or white pieces to the look based on the straps in the rips of the jeans and I think this makes for a nice look but there are a number of colours which will look good with both of these pieces. This printed top plays well against the text on the straps of the jeans and I decided to keep the Balenciaga theme going with my bag choice too. I think this is a cute choice for a first styling of these pieces and something a little more casual for me. Whats not casual is my look for the final piece, the Feather Green Pants which I just had the best time styling! I love these already! These have a black base under the feathering, so black is the perfect choice to add and I had plenty of options. I decided for a smart Summer styling choosing this little tie top layered under a smart blazer and I'm so happy with the outcome, I think it works really nicely. I knew I wanted to use this bag in the outfit, this green pocket on the front is perfect with the trousers and the style fits well with the style of the outfit. I really can't wait to wear these again already^

L I M I T E D E D I T I O N | Release Review

I was pretty excited at the prospect of a new LIMITED EDITION release a few weeks ago, it's been a while and we're ready for a fresh collection! We were told about the release the day before, and on the day itself a few spoilers were released of a couple of the looks - from those I wasn't too hopeful that this collection would suit me, but I kept an open mind and I'm glad I did. Let's get on and take a look at the 48th LE collection:
I am really quite impressed with this collection - to start with, no, the overall vibe of the collection is not hugely my style, but this collection covers 4 floors and they're all pretty packed with looks. It's great to see a large collection back again after a long time. Whilst the looks presented on the mannequins in the store aren't my style, it's all about looking at pieces individually, because when I do that I see a number of great items in this collection - I'm pretty excited about it^ There are 19 looks for female dolls and 2 for males, these are just re-makes of some of the female pieces, so really there could have been a few additional mannequins with more pieces included. Getting to the accessories first! There are 9 pairs of shoes on offer, which is a lot for one collection and I love it. All are heeled pairs and there are a mix of shoes/sandals and boots. The boots definitely seem more Autumn/Winter, particularly as most of them are black. I'm quite a fan of both the Cut Out Boots with their legs covered in gold eyelets, and the Fanged Boots with their very cool golden fang heel and little golden fangs all over the leg. Both pairs seem pretty wearable and will stand out well in a more neutral styling showing off those details. The Gold Long Boots are definitely a stand out shoe! I like the shade of gold and their texture, plus the over the knee style, however that platform is huuuuge, which is something that really makes me not want to buy them, but I'm sure the style suits some of you well. The platform on the Leather Belted Boots is much kinder, these are quite a pretty boot, but my reservation about these is that there's a lot of detail up the leg which you wouldn't want to hide with clothing, but it means clothing is restricted to something quite short or perhaps a skintight trousers which feels a little limiting for me. The last pair of boots to mention is the Long Ripped Jeans Boots which I think are pretty cute, I like the idea of the denim and I think the style is a nice versatile one that will work well for a lot of people. Onto the heels/sandals, the matching Black Heels and Gold Heels (although these are definitely yellow to me) stand out - they're sleek shoes and a perfect versatile style for Summer. And lastly are the Neon Transparent Heels which really pop in the store. I love their mule style and the gem strap across the foot, the neon colour definitely adds an extra fun touch to them. Despite being neon I think these will be easy to style and a popular choice. There are only 2 bags in the collection, however they're both pretty nice ones. The Two Tigers Bag stood out to me first, I'm completely sold on the black with gold details. I also love that the long strap is gathered and held in the hand, that's a nice design element to the piece along with the croc leather to the body of the bag, it feels like it's been a long time since we've had something with this texture. Then is the Gold Chain Purse which is another quite neutral piece, the body of the bag is a checkerboard with black, white and grey squares and the chunky gold handle really pops. I think this looks nice as a piece held more like a clutch, but I would love an option to have it over the shoulder too. The final piece to mention in the accessories is the Pearl Necklace, the only jewellery item the store has, I'm just a little disappointed that it's a beauty parlor piece as it may get forgotten about, but it's still a lovely piece, I like the close fit to the neck and I think the chunky pearls really stand out nicely.
Now for the clothing. The first floor of the store stands out with the clear black and gold theme - I really like that as I love a theme and I think these outfits and pieces all look great together. The styles aren't so much my thing as everything is a little skimpy. The Black Bodysuit looks pretty great and is definitely a more classic style than the other pieces, I like the combination of the smart blazer style with the bodysuit design. The Tulle Net Dress also really stands out on this floor, the design is so intricate, and even though it's not something I would wear, I can really appreciate that it's a beautiful piece and I look forward to seeing others wear it! The Gold Strings Mini Dress and the Strapped Mini Dress remind me of older styles of LE pieces, so again although I wouldn't wear them, I like seeing designs like that included. The Chain Link Puffer is a fun piece, and actually I don't mind the puffer-jacket style with the black sheen against the chains around the edges, but it's quite an oversized piece and find it swamps my doll a little. I've not seen anyone wear this yet so would love to see someone try it out^ The other three floors are a little less dark and bring some splashes of colour to the collection, there's plenty of places for your eyes to look here. Greens and blues seem to be a little of a running theme across the floors, and I really like these pieces. First up are the Feather Green Pants (still available if you want to buy them!) which I think are fabulous! They won't be to everyones taste, but I really like them, they're a unique design and they fit the doll well, plus the colour is stand out. The Lace Jumpsuit also brings bold in green, I think the idea of green lace is fun and the piece has a retro vibe to it - for me I'd love this more as a separate blouse and trouser set as I'd wear each piece separately rather than together. The Sequined Tie Shirt is definitely a more wearable green piece, the colour is a little more muted but still bold and the fit of this piece is lovely on the doll, I really like the open neckline and the waist tie along with the more fitted style. And then there are some dresses on offer too which I think are pretty special pieces. The Organic Fishnet Dress is beautiful, the colour is more muted than the other green pieces and the net detailing is fantastic. And then there is the Feather Mini Dress which just looks amazing, I love this a lot and it's still available to buy so I'm very tempted. The blue and green feathers are mixed with silver sequins in the top half of the piece, it just looks stunning! There are a number of other stand-out dresses in the store and I like the range of themes and colours to them, there really is something for everyone. The Cut Out Zebra Dress is a little more of a risque piece but I like the glitter on it and I can see it will be popular with some dolls. Much more my taste is the Starry Dress in such pretty pink tones. Style-wise this is much more modest with a high neck and long sleeves - but look at that shoulder puff, it's fabulous and I love the draping stars all around the hem. Onto some top-half pieces, the PVC Transparent Top looks pretty cool and I've seen a couple of looks really selling this to me. The Fishnet Gem Tunica really surprised me, it's not my usual style being a less-is-more on the fabric front, but I love the red gems as they stand out so much. Then there is also the Zebra Coat which does seem a little out of place in the collection but I think it's a pretty nice piece and it definitely stands out for being different.

T S L T O P T H R E E
Feather Green Pants | Fishnet Gem Tunica | Starry Dress
This was a tough choice because I could have easily picked a few more than three, in the end it was clothing that won out! These are the pieces that I'm most excited about wearing over and over again even if I'm repeating looks^

F E A T U R E S
First up is GeraKowall styling up the Zebra Coat - this piece looks so much better outside of the store and it really shines! The bold pink of the skirt works beautifully with the print, in fact I think many bold colours would do well with it. And I love the jewelled kitten heels, they're such a cute yet glamorous touch to the look. The floral belt is very sweet, not an obvious choice but I think one that works very nicely =)
Next up is a much darker look, here yelich styles both the Tulle Net Dress and Leather Belted Boots in a fabulous way^ The shoes still pop out amongst the tulle and netting of the skirted pieces, it's a great way to wear them and despite all of the black clothing they really do stand out. The netting manages to stand out nicely against the knit of the sweater, it's a fun contrast to try and really makes the piece seem more wearable. I also love the accessories, the little silver hoops look great with the sheen of the bag!
The next features are somewhat lighter, here is Mery.- wearing the Organic Fishnet Dress in a beautiful layered look. The green stands out beautifully against the neutral top and trousers as base pieces, and the details in the netting really pop and catch the eye. I love the added layering of the jacket on top, both the style and colour of it suit the look well. The delicate accessories are beautiful touches, I love the jewellery and this bag in particular^
Next up is Millaxx who also styles the Organic Fishnet Dress but quite differently, really highlighting what versatility a net dress can have! The colour of the sweater is a perfect fit for the dress, it looks like the two were made for each other especially with the ripped hem styling the sweater has, it's perfect with the netting. The accessories in pink are a beautiful touch, they look so good with the green, really love the bag, earrings and sunglasses combination, plus the perspex heels make a good final addition =D
And last but not least another dark look to end on, this time from Miloshki who wears the PVC Transparent Top in a very cool rock-chick way, not sure I could pull off this style so well but I still love it! The design on the top really stands out against the pale skin tone and I think the other black clothing pieces in the look do well at fitting in but making sure the piece stands out on its own. The leather jacket particularly is such a great piece for the top^ I love the minimal take on accessories, these chunky boots and the structured bag really hold their own on that front, so great =)
