1 Piece 1 Week | White Leather Party Shorts

As we approach the end of Summer I decided I'd give these fabulous White Leather Party Shorts from PPQ a chance to prove themselves to you - I've really gotten on their bandwagon in the past year or so and they've featured in quite a few stylings and a dedicated post, here's another one - styling up a whole week of outfits with them! I wasn't sure how much of a challenge I would find this, I thought it might be tricky to work with shorts, but it wasn't and it was super fun =D
Be smart casual in blazer stylings
I am in love with a blazer-shorts combination and these are perfect stylings to end the Summer with. The looks are neutral and the styles show off the shorts well, and they're a twist on a classic smart styling. For these looks I like the longer lengths of the blazers, and I adore my accessory choices, from the heels to the sunglasses hanging on the bags^
Dressing up in designer
Smart black and white stylings with a focus on 'designer' pieces from limited stores or Tribute releases. The style of the shorts lean well to this vibe, even  though there are ankle straps on the heels, the legs look super long in both stylings. And the black details add a classic theme to the piece =)
Ready to go for the new Autumn season
And finishing the week of stylings with looks to transition into the upcoming season - I like trying out both bare legs and covered with the different boot choice, both are great with shorts. The white pops whether with a contrasting black or with something lighter, I think these outfits work perfectly. I love the chunky size difference with the first style, and the printed top in the second for different warm looks!

W H I T E L E A T H E R P A R T Y S H O R T S

Picked these White Leather Party Shorts from PPQ up in the Bazaar (quite cheaply actually if you're in the market for them!) quite some time ago and meant to wear them in summer but we had so many other releases - so an end of summer styling set with them today!
I didn't intend to style all-white outfits, but they're just so good with so many white pieces that it just happened^ But I did get some different vibes of stylings in. First up a little dressy with heels and this decorative shirt, I think the little touches of black in the look work out well and don't overwhelm the paler tone. Not sure I really needed the blazer, a bag would have maybe been better - but I do love the chunky hoop earrings and the yellow glasses^ Secondly maybe described as the autumn transitional look, the tights giving a warmer feeling along with the sweater, I just love this sweater! I think it suits the fitted styling of the shorts very well. Then accessorising in all white too. And lastly the most casual look, even though a smart white shirt says nothing casual about it! I caved and bought these trainers, and I adore them with this outfit, I think they're the perfect style to go with the shorts, they have a little colour but also some white which makes them perfectly fitting with the look, and makes the beige of the bag fit in very nicely. I also added some little golden earrings^ I think this final look is my favourite of the three =D

Lavender Alpaca Coat | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

This fantastic PPQ Lavender Alpaca Coat is an oldie, it came out back in 2014 and I feel like it's always flown under the radar a little - but with the lavender/lilac trend reaching a peak, it's fallen into favour, even though I've always loved it and seeing it styled! This look from leiona_- caught my eye this week, I love the soft texture of the coat paired with the harsher perspex texture of the floral skirt, it's a great contrast. The white shirt adds a crisp touch without detracting from your main two textures. The necklace and bag are glamorous while the pink trainers add a casual touch which I like the look of. For my own styling I knew I wanted to go with a darker tone letting the coat be the light touch in the outfit. This sweet floral print maxi is a great piece to wear, it layers nicely and the colours match the coat well. I love the navy against the lavender too, but my favourite pairing is for sure this Sonia Rykiel bag - it's just so perfect for the coat and is a pairing I'd come back to again and again =D

F R I N G E D H I G H W A I S T P A N T S

I had these PPQ Fringed High Waist Pants on in my LE Styled Outfits, then again gave them a little feature in my April WEARING post so I decided they deserved their own style post this week! They're a pretty old piece that I've had kicking around in my wardrobe for a long time but these past few weeks I've been getting happier putting them to use in looks! But first things first, that fringing is awesome, it's a great detail for any look and I think they're a fab piece to have =)
These stylings seem quite classic for the trousers to me, I'm sure I could have tried something more exotic, but you wanna get the basics down first, right? So I stuck to the typical colour of white for the first two stylings, going for smart then summery^ This shirt is great as a tucked in style and it gives the opportunity for a belt too. The shade of white goes nicely with the trousers and the black bag and jacket really draw attention to the fringe I think. And then this cool off-shoulder piece which has totally been pushed aside since last summer and fits really nicely with the trousers! The fringing does have a faint yellow tint so that's what I went for with the accessories, they're pretty classic for me, especially the bag, but I think they work well and highlight the yellow by the fringing^ And lastly also a little more focus on the yellow with a top I have worn a lot lately, but it just worked so well! I love the tiny waist vision that the trousers provide with this top and I think the top opens up all the colour choices to combine with these easy-pairing trousers - naturally I went with this kinda awesome pink and yellow belt-pairing, but I love it, I've been wearing this Fendi one a lot recently too. Stuck simple with the perspex heels and I think they'd be good in a lot of other stylings with these trousers too =D

P P Q | Styled By You / / Styled By Me

Again the PPQ came out a while ago, but I've been debating with myself on whether to post about it or not, because I think the general feeling from everyone is that the release wasn't all that good, and I do fairly agree with that. It seemed a huge mix of pieces and not at all like the sleek and very formed collections we've had in the past, which is a shame because generally I love PPQ! So I did find a few features and I did buy a few pieces so my post is style based over writing a review =D
Features I think these guys did a great job with the collection, really working things into their own style and seeing the good in the release^ First up marina495 with the Checked Wool Coat, and I really think this styling totally sells the coat 100% whereas the store doesn't at all! It looks great with the black ribbed dress and boots and the dark colour lets the pinks from the coat stand out perfectly. Also love the denim shirt used and the accessorising with the bag and the sweet earrings^
And then MeLolitka with the Tulip Sweater really making the most of that stand out colour in this rocker-esque look! The colour goes great with all the leather, especially the furry additions to the jacket and the silver embellishments on the skirt. Love the pairing of the blue socks and strappy sandals, quite perfect with this piece and style =D
Styled Outfits I purchased three items in the end, probably the most minimal from the store. First up is the Tulip Sweater and initially I really liked the shape but now I'm more of a fan of the colour, and this look is very much not what I had in mind for the piece but I'm quite happy with it anyway. The white really lets the blue stand out but the silver definitely ties the two together, I like this necklace filling some of the space over the blue without obscuring it much. Secondly the Cut Out Knit Sweater, which upon styling I realised isn't quite black nor navy, it's a slightly awkward in between colour so I don't think it entirely suits an all black look like what I've gone for, I do however love the cut outs paired with the shape of this jacket, I think they're a good fit and just need a little work to look great! And then my favourite look is the final one using the Suede Mesh Boots. Now I totally don't need another pair of boots but these have a cool slouched style and a cool heel too, I couldn't resist^ I went all black but I made use of a range of materials and textures, love having the looser skirt and the knitted sweater paired with the fringing, I think it helps make the look stand out. Also loved adding this bag to the outfit too which I haven't worn since styling it back at the start of my current challenge =)

P P Q | Release Review

A surprise last week when new PPQ was released, it feels a long time since the last PPQ release so this was super welcomed from me =) I love the advert and it sells the collection really well I think, plus those beauty looks are awesome!
So it was just one floor this time, but it's pretty packed with a lot of items all on the minimal blue theme - plenty of white and black coloured pieces, so this floor gets my thumbs up^ As well as a minimal style, there are a few cool patterned stand out pieces which I think really tie the store up nicely =)
I'll begin with the accessories, which definitely take a little step back in this collection with minimal choices and just a few extra pieces. The shoes are black and white, classic pieces which work with many different styles. They're made for summer really with their open toes and straps - I really am a fan of both the SS16 Platform Sandals and the SS White Platform Sandals! For bags, there's just one to choose from, but I think it's an awesome piece - the SS16 White Backpack has a cool style. I love the little handle and the loose straps, plus the size is just right. Not much on the jewellery front either, but I do quite like the Sparkling Blue Necklace, it's got a lovely delicate touch and could look lovely with a lot of different pieces.
And now the clothes! With the minimal pieces, the dresses and jumpsuits are the total focus. There's a range of colours and designs but most pieces are ideal for summer with short sleeves or straps. In block blue you can have either the Chiffon Detail Blue Dress with great upper body details or the PPQ Blue Frill Dress which has a bit of a spanish-dance feeling, I particularly like the design at the neckline and love the asymmetric sleeve. There's quite a few choices in black, I like the shorter Cutout Cocktail Dress for the sweet design at the neck, I feel like it could be styled quite well into different looks. Then there's also the PPQ Cutout B W Dress with it's somewhat matching PPQ B W Jumpsuit. They're pretty good pieces, and the style is very current - which I feel like I've been saying about a lot of things, but it's true! Then to round out that section there's the PPQ White Tailored Jumpsuit, which is totally like the treat of the release, it's great! It fits well and is truly a perfect piece for the summer. Before moving onto the prints, the last item I love is the pair of Perfect Black Bootcut Trousers and they really live up to their name, just try them on and see for yourself^
And now the brighter pieces of the release - those prints! The trousers stand out to me so much that I barely look at anything else. Both the PPQ Geo Print Trousers and the PPQ Sheer Pattern Trousers look amazing. They fit my doll well and add a great flair to looks with their quirky printing. You can get matching pieces to go with them, but honestly I love them on their own! Aside from the prints there's one mixed colour piece, the PPQ Three Tone Moto which is something I see being super popular. The style is very biker-chic and I think it could be great for transitioning into Autumn after the summer season =)
Prices for this release range from 10 to 25SD's with really only a few focal pieces at the higher range. These prices are definitely on target with the rest of the store and I have no complaints about them at all.

And a couple of looks with this collection! I bought a few pieces and so far am loving making use of them. Firstly the PPQ Three Tone Moto and the SS16 White Backpack - both are super edgy and great pieces on their own so I really let them stand out with minimal black and white clothing. Then secondly the PPQ Geo Print Trousers and I really adore this clothing combination! It's great for summer with this cami but I do play on the darker tones by adding the jacket and sunglasses to the hand =D

P P Q A W 1 5 | Release Review

At the end of last week there we got a brand new PPQ release! It's been a little while since we've had one so it was a good surprise for me to find when I got home on Friday evening. I love the homepage ad, I think the clothes are showcased well, the models look good and I really wanna wear that lipstick now =D
So it was a one floor release and everything was based on black! This is the opposite of the last release which was completely white - this works for me, I love wearing white and black clothing!
The clothes really do have a Victorian-esque style to them with a heavy featuring a lace detailing around the collars and hems - I think it looks particularly good on the Little Black Jumpsuit and the Victorian Velvet Dress. While we're on the topic of velvet - I LOVE IT! I really do like velvet on my doll and think it can look amazing in looks! So the Velvet Jumpsuit was one of the first pieces that caught my eye and took my money =D Are velvet shoes a little too much to ask for? Maybe a bag? Haha, I get carried away sometimes!
Anyway there are a good mix of long and short lengths in the clothing, I'd have loved a pair of trousers, but I definitely have a lot already, so I don't need another^ I've mentioned one long dress already, I also really like the other two - the Embroidered Ball Gown and the Collar See Through Dress, these should definitely be highlighted more in the collection as they have great design and fit very nicely as a pair with their sheer qualities. The rest of the skirts and dresses are quite short, so for this season I'd be grabbing for the tights immediately! But I do like the knee-ish-length of the PPQ Ruffles Skirt, and the matching White Collared Blouse which is an adorable piece, I love its addition to this collection =D
Now the accessories - completely my favourite part of the collection! Both the shoes and bags are amazing and I'm left wanting more. The PPQ Lips Clutch and the PPQ Orange Lips Clutch are both fab in design and colour - they're perfect for the collection and the season in general, now where's the matching lipsticks for our dolls?!?! The shoes are classics, both the PPQ Patent Leather Pumps and the PPQ Ankle Strap Heels and could be worn with pretty much anything, definitely investment pieces for your wardrobe! There are also others to choose from with fancier details, but when the minimal classics are a choice I definitely head straight for them!
One thing I missed from this release was more coats, I have a good track record with PPQ coats and love their addition to collections, the Angora Coat is alright, but it's not a piece I've bought to style.
The prices of this release range from 11 to 25SD's with most items falling into the middle of the bracket. I think this is fairly average, but if items were prices a little cheaper I think it would tempt me to try more things out and give them a fair go of styling. The accessories are definitely well priced though, super happy to get these items for only a handful of SD's rather than a whole fistfull!

Styling the Velvet Jumpsuit and the Embroidered Ball Gown, and I love wearing the gown as much more of a skirt, those flower details are perfect:

Wear Dem Jewels Challenge #13

I promise I haven't forgotten this challenge, I've just been very busy, but I'm not done with this yet! This time it's the PPQ Ruby Earrings, which you can find in the Bazaar if you're looking for a pair - I didn't really remember having these, so it was nice to get them out and give them a style:
These earrings had such a D&G feel to them, that I felt like lace was the only choice to go for, which ended up with this top. I also wanted them to be a clear standout point so stuck with a classic white for the rest of the look!  My shoes seemed like a pretty good choice - they're the RIO Hotbuys Embroidered Canvas Heels from a little while ago, and it's my first wear of them, super glad I have them and chose them^ The makeup also seemed to feel right as a red - so that's what I went for in the shadestick, making sure it was super pigmented. Gave a little orange in the Sienna liner too so that it was a little more styled than just shade =)
Let me know what you think, hopefully I'll get more of these posts out and the challenge will be done in late August or September!

Wear Dem Jewels Challenge #8

Finally my next challenge post, featuring the Slinky Bead Necklace from PPQ which I'm pretty sure I haven't worn since the purchase! I don't think it's sellable (it wasn't in my bazaar), however things have mysteriously appeared sellable in my bazaar after I haven't seen them when writing the post, so who knows!
This was actually a lot more challenging than I thought it would be, I think because of the chunky feel that the necklace has - it didn't seem to fit quite right with any of my dresses, and black was just about counted out because of blending in. So I ended up going with tops, and all 3 looks happen to feature trousers, so I guess it's getting me more use of them, particularly the LE culottes in the first look. That first look, you'll also notice, is black and it's all I could do without the necklace just blending in too much, it definitely does to some extent, but it's not all that bad! I just wanted to give it a go really. Then there's the seemingly obligatory all white outfit on the end there - I wanted to use the Sleeveless Scuba Top from Melbourne Minimalism however I was getting absolutely nowhere with a bottom half of the outfit, so I combined the top and found these DKNY trousers a good match.
The middle look was the more 'fun' one, and that pink Voile top was the first piece that I liked with the necklace, definitely tried to push my comfort zone with choosing other pieces, but I'm very happy with the look and that I finally am wearing the Dior Inspired Heels, and I really wanna dedicate a whole post to them soon^

Anyway, what do you think? I don't think this is one of my favourite necklaces, but I am pleased with the direction I've gone down for the stylings! Comment away =D

Wear Dem Jewels Challenge #5

Finally day 5! This time wearing the Rosegold Necklace from PPQ which costs 5SD's and is currently still available in the Plaza (under the Beauty category, not Fashion, that might throw people!)
I struggled a little, definitely not feeling in the creative mood for outfits, it's been a long week and my lack of other rose gold accessories really annoyed me! However I do think it looks nice with this yellow It Girls dress, I wish I had more yellow to wear it with =) Then I seemed to have gone with the pinks - I did want a full white look, but nothing was fitting well enough with the necklace, so that went out of the window fairly quickly. I love it with this white sweater (Chunky Polo Sweater, Nelly) despite it being a wintery look rather than a summer one! I'm surprised with these Fendi shoes too, they're growing on me a lot more with this outfit. The final look was a little thrown together, because I really wanted to get those DKNY trousers in, I suppose it works overall, but it's not the best styling - I'll be the first to admit that!

Anyways, thoughts? Comments welcomed as always!

P.S I also styled an outfit earlier this week featuring this necklace for Accaro, check it here! They are very much NOT fans of my style over there, always complaining that I don't use a jacket or a bag - it seems they are never pleased with any of my posts!

P P Q S P A C E S A F A R I | Release Review

Missed me? I certainly have! I didn't mean to stop posting altogether, but I had an important deadline at the end of April so I was working towards that and then I just needed a little break from everything - but I'm back, and what better way than with a Release Review =D
The advert on the home page is very reminiscent of the last release I think with the photos of the collection. I quite like this particularly in that it shows us how to style the Runway Hair Glitter - something I looked at in the store and went ... huh? It doesn't work for my doll, but I'm glad to see it does for those in the advert^ And it's only 4SD's, think it could be a popular piece! Anyways, on with the review of the store =)
Anyone who has followed this blog for a long time will know I love white clothing, I'm been through phases of only wearing it and in March 2013 I even did a week long challenge to not wear white! But anyway, this collection is right up my street and I was very excited to start trying things on! So excluding the hair glitter, the accessories are pretty decent, the shoes stand out a lot to me, I love both the Faux Snakeskin Stilettos and the Embellished Pumps and I think the prices are very good too. In the early PPQ collections the shoes have been a bit too much and maybe a bit garish for me, so this is a great improvement!
There are definitely some gems amongst the clothing available (i.e the Sleeveless White Turtleneck) but I also see that not everything will be for everyone - despite my love of white clothing, I did only end up buying a couple of pieces as a lot of things wouldn't work with other clothes I wear or are similar to things I own - I'd love to be shown otherwise though, it'd be great to see someone styling any of these dresses in an amazing everyday chic look!
Prices for the collection ranged from 4 to 25SD's, which is good for a collection like this, with accessories at the lower end and the more stand-out pieces at the top end. I think everyone would easily find something to fit into their price bracket.
So I've done a couple of stylings of the items I bought, however I think these pieces are that versatile that there's hundreds of ways to wear them! <I also bought the Sleeveless White Turtleneck however haven't styled it in this post, maybe an opportunity for later!>
I loved these trousers with blue it would seem! But I think my favourite of the three is the last one - the top and vest combination just kinda worked when I put them together, I'm wearing it *here* right now so you can find out where each piece is from if you're interested in anything =D
And finally for the features, I saw so many great looks with this collection, and here's 6 of them!

PPQ | Release Review

This week has seen two brand new floors of PPQ released, it's been a while since we've had new things in here I think, so I'm glad to see some fresh pieces! I also love the ads I've seen on the homepage, they're super stylish and have a modern twist to them, making the brand very appealing in my mind =D
For me, this collection has a wintery feel to it, I've been relating lilacs to christmas and winter so much more recently, and this fills that void on Stardoll! There's also a hefty amount of whites and sheen-y sort of tones to be had, along with PPQ's usual fill of leather-look clothing! Not a fan of the accessories at all this time, but I'm not that fussed about it, I kinda just am happy with liking the clothing this time around! Plus I love the little floral infusion there is - yeah, I'd say I'm pleasantly surprised by this release (PPQ never really does much for me, it's just kinda always been there)!
Prices range from 4 to 30SD's. I think the accessories are really well priced alike the past few PPQ releases, and the clothes are about the prices I'd expect really, with the coats sitting higher in the range, but I really do like these ones, so I have been more than happy to purchase two of them - the Lavender Alpaca Coat and the White Alpaca Coat and I look forward to showing you my looks for them both later in this post. I also loved some of the tops in this collection, for some reason I just find them a little more versatile and to my taste more than they have in past releases.
So now onto some features - I love how AliceVel has styled her Lavender Alpaca Coat with a great pair of tailored trousers and that floral peek-a-boo top, the colours of it really work with the jacket and they both have a similar theme and pair together particularly well.
AudreyHepburn. has styled the White Alpaca Coat in such a glamourous look! I love how it looks with the teal coloured accessories and the beautiful jewelled decor at the neckline!
Finally tigre89 has gone for the Lavender Satin Romper in a look with quite the retro feel to it - I also love playing it slightly differently and wearing it as a shirt with the trousers, it looks great!
So now onto what I've done with the pieces I've bought from the store! I ended up getting 4 pieces, the two coats I previously mentioned, and also the Satin Lace Trim Blouse (a bit different for me, but I was really feeling it for this winter season!) and the Floral Satin Blouse (which feels like it could be super versatile) - I am still contemplating the Floral Satin Jumpsuit, so I'd love to see some looks from you guys to help me make up my mind =)
P.S. Sorry about the image quality, all the features and styled pics were done on my laptop, and it doesn't seem to have the same good quality as the desktop does, which I used for the store pics =/

Blowing in the wind

I spotted this jacket in someones Bazaar in the last week, and as soon as I had seem it I knew I wanted to style it! Then yesterday I saw this fab look from Sofia1999Conde and that inspired me to make my look! I just kinda threw it together very quickly, so I will do a specific post on this jacket I think, but I love how Sofia has put together her look, this new RIO blouse looks perfect with the jacket for example. I actually think I prefer the pale skinned look with the piece rather than my tanned skin, don't you think? Anyway, loving Sofia's look and I am excited to spend more time with this piece and come up with great ways to wear it!
