Antidote gave us a rather unusual colour palette to work with in this release - yellow, pinks, blacks etc - the best example of which is probably this lovely fringed midi skirt. When I started to style it, I was sceptical that I could make it work without looking frumpy as midi skirts and dusky shades can sometimes be.
However, I think this turned out surprisingly classy! It's amazing what a few ornate accessories and a turtleneck can do, not to mention that this colour scheme can actually look quite sophisticated in these duskier tones.
A lot of the expensiveness of this look comes from the overloading of detail in the accessories, along with the layering, fringe, colour blocking and totally unnecessary gloves. That's a lot going on and so the look tiptoes along the line of money-can-buy-you-expensive-things-but-not-taste, without falling into the Tacky Crevasse. I hope.
